I think the Judge is the absolute best handgun for home defense if your house doesn't have over 40ft distances. If it's under that, nothing can touch it.
It’s definitely a contender along with my shockwave 12 gauge lol. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
Taurus has really uped their game during the last few years. I own several and enjoy every one. Another great video G. 👏
Thank you sir
Great video! I was on the fence about buying the Judge, even though I have several other Taurus revolvers. Best budget handguns, IMO. Own the Taurus 627, Taurus 992, and Taurus M44, all of them go bang, no problems at all (so far).
I agree with all of that. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
@15:46 scared the crap out of me here… smacking the hot end of that .410 shell on the table 😮
👍🏻
I understand what you mean sbout Taurus sucking a few years back,I had a couple that were total garbage but since then they have got a lot better.I now own 12 Taurus firearms and all of them have ran flawlessly. There are a couple more I'd like to give a try and the Judge is one of them.
I don’t think you’d be disappointed. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Interesting thing is I've had several Taurus pistols over the years and never got a bad one. I have however shot a few other people have owned and they weren't so lucky. For me, they are great for a $200-250 boat/truck gun.
I mean when I first started buying them 8 or 10 years ago I wanted to love them because I could afford them and honestly I had no idea of their reputation good or bad but I did know the name. So I came into it with NO preconceived notion’s but if memory serves me I never had one (no not one) they didn’t malfunction or would even get through a single magazine
Up close and personal firearm. Like some deranged person coming in your tent at night with a large knife in the middle of nowhere!
Haha well I can certainly envision it being applicable in that situation
I need a new fiber optic insert. Looks like the size is 2.0mm Not too concerned because it's more of a point and shoot weapon, but would like to get it done. Mine flew out. I'm gonna take something and fix it to where it won't fly out. I got that accordion grips on mine. I like these yours has. I might try to get me a set
Good luck let us know if you do and how you like it. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I bought a tracker 627. Had to send it right back to Taurus. 12 weeks and waiting, they still have it. Called this week, they just told me 6 to 8 more weeks for a replacement.....
What was wrong with it? Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
@@GSquaredTactical the timing was loose on 2 of the 7 ratchet stops, the ratchet gear from what I can tell was machined by a blind and drunk epileptic using a 14 inch electric meat carving knife while riding an mechanical bull from the looks of it (cant believe I didn't see it in the store, derp) with burrs ⅛ inch long hanging from it. To top it off, the barrel lug, when you flipped the gun upside down, you could see these long uneven flat spots running the length of the 6.5 inch barrel on the underside, where it should be smooth and round and even. So they are now waiting on a whole new barrel!!! They have offered a replacement if they become available before the part. It makes me sad, those barrels are not meant to be changed out. The sticker on the front sight was also off to one side, and didnt fit the space well. For $500 the sticker is a bit of a slap in the face. A drop of paint is not expensive.
Yeah we haven’t had any issues functionally but I agree on the sticker
@@GSquaredTactical I had a taurus .357 2inch barrel, 5 shot revolver 20 years ago, and it was mint; regret selling it.
Yeah I have the new version of it and it’s been good
Besides the weight, how does the magnum differ from the base model? Is it rated for 454?
No sir it will just shoot the longer “magnum” 410 round. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Federal handgun buckshot is not only the best ammo for the Judge, but its probably the best ammo ever made. Why? It makes the Judge extremely viable as a self defense weapon at home. The Hornady stuff and other handgun loads are ok and would probably get the job done in 1 shot too, but Federal's stuff just delivers consistently and ejects smoother. Not to mention it's more lead and is more accurate.
I use the Hornady Triple Defense 41 cal FTX but the federal is good too. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
@@GSquaredTactical I would definitely not say the Hornday is bad, but if you watch penetration tests, it underpenetrated about half the time
I’ll check it out
Best 45Colt ammo for The Judge: czcams.com/video/5Bo44nokg88/video.html
I guess I'm the only one that read why Taurus came out with this peice , the name Judge says it all. Then here come all the armchair commanders telling everyone it's no good cuz this cuz that , wasn't intended for 20/25 yards.
Man there’s “no Taurus bots” on Reddit and other forums that if you post anything about Taurus good or bad the bot will remove the post and have a pre typed message telling you all the reasons they are junk. In the last 4 years or so I haven’t had any issues with Taurus. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Best 45Colt ammo for The Judge: czcams.com/video/5Bo44nokg88/video.html
Thanks man
It's too big for concealed carry, but it would be great for home defense.
Yeah it’s a little beefy, it depends on the body type but overall not a great concealed carry option haha. Thanks for watching!
@@GSquaredTactical Yeah. You're welcome.
Was considering one till I watched Paul Harrell
What happened with his?
@@GSquaredTactical it functions properly but he didn't like the performance. Basically he felt a snake gun was probably the best usage for the shotgun rounds and if you were using regular 45 colt you'd be better off using a normal revolver. It's really to big for EDC and the rifling throws the pattern off. I mostly agreed but if you're into vehicle guns it be a ok up close welcome for a car jacker. The short barrel really hurts the velocity of the 410 with shot. I don't recall with slugs. It's worth a watch. Think he has 2-3 video on it. That said my friend has a 357 Taurus revolver. Forget the model but when I fire it quickly sometimes it's timing gets a little off. I own a G3 and it's been decent so far. Not sure how I'd feel if it were the only gun I owned.
I’ll check it out
@@FoulPet I think paul's videos on the Judge are a bit off. He fires home defense shotshells at 20 yards to prove "spread is too much." 20 yards is WAY outside home defense ranges and proves he's not being genuine. The ammo is literally marketed as home defense. But spread for buckshot is way further than a car jacking. Even at 12 yards the spread is only 6 inches for Federal buckshot. I think paul sort of hurts his own argument when testing the 000 buckshot. It's five .36 calibers per trigger pull and he NEVER brings up that you're getting 5 individual wounds per trigger pull. Each of those do 380-9mm penetration, so essentially a firing squad each trigger pull. Toward the end of the last video, Paul states that the Judge is great if you select the right ammo. Federal 000 handgun is the best ammo BY FAR. If you're someone that believes in the idea of multiple DEEP wounds per trigger pull, there is no better handgun for home defense.
@@robarmstrong5404 I will have to rewatch it. He has multiple videos on it and seems to regularly bash it when it comes up in other videos or I could be confusing it with another pistol. My take was a 45 revolver was more accurate and easier to carry. A home defense shotgun would be more accurate and powerful. The judge being a jack of all trades and master of none. At point blank ranges I doubt it would matter but after recently hearing about the hero at the mall pulling off 40 yard shots, I think he wouldn't have been as successful if armed with a judge. IMHO it's probably an OK camping gun. I'd rather carry the G20 camping. Can't see it as a good farm gun. Only role I see it filling is a truck/boat gun. The bonus I see is the multi wound channels within ranges of a normal self defense situation. Past that you'd loose power and you couldn't control where stray rounds went. It's a really large pistol and for that size you could probably carry a 460.
@G Squared Tactical
I do look forward to your testing to see if it would sway my opinion. If convenient, I'd like to see a penetration test with 00 at 10+ yards. Concealed carry opitions would be nice. Accuracy with shot, slugs vs 45 at maybe 20+ yards. Just tossing out a wish list. Thanks
Can you shoot 410 slugs 3-in through that gun lol can you shoot a 410 slug 3 in through that gun
Yes we have often. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Got a Matt blue 3in mag judge it's a loss 45 hp killed any beast up close it's a mean 5 shot Canon man
Heck yeah! It’s the ultimate carry for the woods IMO
