When most of us think of big tech, we often picture an army of software engineers, and as much as they're great at creating a product, there's still a whole other side to big tech, which is the business side. Think of the salespeople, the financial analysis, the marketers, and so on. They play a fundamental role monetising and growing a successful tech company.
When you look at Google's career site for instance, they obviously have a engineering and tech team, but there's also a large number of non-technical roles like business strategy, sales, or finance. Those are the jobs I want to talk about today.

Really interesting video!! Would love a pt 2
Great Video! Thanks for the breakdown, really well explained.
Great general breakdown!
Very useful - thank you!
awesome insights...make a part 2 please
There might be an economical turmoil but there is no doubt that this is still the best time to invest.
Best time to invest? thats funny tho because in the last four months I have lost more than $47,900 in stock market which is the biggest I have loss since I ventured into stock investment.
you could be right or wrong depends on your expertise, I once made such loss when i invested thinking i have gathered enough trading skills from youtube videos but now its a different ball game for me because I was lucky to have met "Tamara Diane Hagan", a financial manager and stock expert, I have made more than $165,000 in 6 weeks under her supervisions.
Really? people are cashing in from the stock market and frankly speaking its comforting seeing someone admit to the fact that they actually seek help from professionals. please how can i reach Tamara ?
search her name on the internet to reach her
thanks for the info , Found her website and it really impressive
Great video!
By far my favorite career path for business graduates. Nice video
Appreciate it Nacho! đ
Hey Kenji, love the videos! I am interested in business strategy. Which type of student job would you recommend? Would it be what many companies call an analyst? â€ïž
I'd say a business analyst role (common in management consulting would be useful). There's also summer internships in business analyst roles, look up business analyst intern if you're interested!
Quiet insightful. Happy to get insights from your experience and research. I have few other questions regarding the current tech industry. If you don't mind, how may I reach you for some guidance?
Hey Kenji. I am a business graduate (BBA) currently pursuing a Master's in Cyber law and information security; aspiring to move into non tech roles in the US big tech/cybersecurity industry. Which courses/certifications would you recommend to move into those roles?
Hey. I read about an Indian couple who have done MBA-MIS from Univ of Arizona, and now work at Product Management role at Microsoft in next 3 years. So I am curious to know that in American system, an MBA is needed for product management roles, or one can break-in just by an MIS ?
Your inputs would be really appreciated.
Thanks for the Videos. â€
My question is I am a newbie and want to start Data Analytics or data analysis career.
What should be my first line of learning?
Amazing video
As per your experience what is the demand of industry in USA as in what kind of job roles opening up
I wanna know which states and cities have big tech hiring apart from California . Your content is amazing and sharing will be very helpful. Let me know how can I get in touch with you
Haha, loved the Minecraft clip. Well done!đ
Hahah love to hear it thanks for supporting!
Hey kenji. i am a computer science grad and am pursuing MBA FINANCE currently , so can you suggest me some certification courses that could help me elevate my resume. it would be great help if ureply asap, Thank you
Is it too late to ask for a part 2?
Thanks for the video,
I wanted to ask about your role in business development, what exactly do you negotiate with vendors and how do you negotiate effectively? I ask because I'm also applying for business development but for internship level.
Hi I can't answer those questions...
Great video! If you don't mind me asking what are your thoughts on a career in supply chain? Thank you :)
I see it quite positively. With e-commerce and the world generally being more international I can see it growing. Just my take though!
@@KenjiExplains awesome :) I'm starting a one year placement in the role of supply chain and I'm interested to see how it goes!
yea lets see the Business Partnerships type
Basically business student can become data scientist easily. Data Science itself part of business obviously it combines tech too.
can you do a part 2 please?
Where are the best places to look for business internships?
LinkedIn probably has the most but if you know which company you want to work at you can just go to their website under careers to see their internships
Didn't expect the Dream clip lol.
Haha trying something different đ
Hi! What about product management? You'rŃ missing the whole thing :)
In my experience most came from a more technical backgrounds than business but maybe in a part 2!
This is what I was thinking.
Hi - can I ask you: What is your real name, like how can I find you on linkedin? Thank you in advance, your videos are soo great!
Thank you! Itâs Kenji Farre
@@KenjiExplains thank you sm for answering!
Wow
wow
â€â€I love your video at large but I will advice everybody who is into crypto to stick with ETH and BTC as much as you can guys.If everyone sells when it starts to fall, which at one point it will, the dream maybe lost because of it being too volatile for companies to get behind
I wanna invest my money on crypto.Bitcoin trading is great, unlike the stock market and other financial market, Bitcoin has no centralized location, since it operates 24hrs a day in different part of the world
@@user-wo1gp4dt1s you are right Bitcoin trading might make you rich if you are hedge fund with deep pockets or an unusual skilled currency trader After a successful investment you have nothing to worry about, whether the rise and fall of economy won't affect you. Makes your future brighter, by making good investment
I think Bitcoin is the future, Investing in it now will be the wisest thing to do especially with the current rise Nothing ever changes
Hello everyone, well if I'm permitted to speak I think Investing right now should be at the top of everyone's list. In 2years you will be ecstatic with the decision you made today! Bitcoin is the most secure run on the largest decentralized computer network in existence
Would gladly appreciate if you can introduce us to the platform
