  • Sometimes you do jobs that you can't believe are real😂😂😂
    This job saw me install multiple cables with tails of 10m+.
    I filmed the biggest one just to give you an idea of the time it took. The video is slightly edited with some bits taken out and others sped up but it gives a representation of the impact that these designs have on a job and the time it takes to complete.
    The cable is glanded into a trunking, I did most of the work myself but had to get some of the lads on site to help complete it. They didn't really want to be on camera so I had to delete the footage.

    I’m on the last year of my apprenticeship, my plan is to get a year or two experience qualified and then stick a mattress in a van and drive around Europe (hopefully getting work on the drive), this channel is class and probably my favourite on CZcams. Thanks for the work you do it’s very informative and your positive attitude is inspiring.

      Get into my side of electrical industry…. Fixing high speed trains, good mix of multiple voltages, controls, motors, lighting, catering, traction & protection circuits, money is good too

    As always, a masterclass in how to get the job done and done right. Enjoyed the video thoroughly.

    I did chuckle at the begining of the video when you were on your way up to Scotland. Seeing the weather turning nasty. I had similar experiences when I done about 2 dozen jobs up in Scotland over a 30 month stint. It was a case of planes, trains, cars/vans and even small aircraft, ferry and laugh if you will a taxi on one occassion. I worked east coast, north coast, west coast and even in the Hebrides. With several visits to Edinburgh and Glasgow. The starting point for my journey was Watford in Hertfordshire.
    Nice work Tony. The designer should come and give you a hand next time to run those cable in so they can understand what is needed and why small trunking is not aways a good idea.
    Keep up the great work mate.

    the person who designed the trunking to be like that should have to come to site and put the cables in!!

    That must be a really important hole in the wall above the cable bends. Why not just extend the tray 900mm and gland straight in to the trunking vs taking ask the cables down round and back up?

    Who designs this and why would the cables come out of the wall and go down? Why not keep going straight along the top?

      Definately dont wanna forget the banjo on that tail . I've said on a previous video about cutting a piece of the outer sheathing off then put it in the hole in the trunking it just slides in no catching is a game changer

    Tony, you always seem to be a one man band on these. How does it work? Are you with like one big firm? Or are you the specialist guy they bring in when they need jobs done?

    Firstly you need a knighthood for getting that in there, secondly who the fuck designed that?!?!? I have no idea what was on the other side of that slot but wow absolute shit show.
    Again the reason I keep watching your channel is to show crow like me how to do shit that seems impossible 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 class 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    Why sometimes does the back part of the gland not fit over the outer black PVC sheathing, this should, in my opinion, slide down the cable so you can have space to spread out the wire armour. Is this just a compatibility issue with the cable diameter and SWA glands? Or a design problem with certain cables?

    • @Jay369
      @Jay369 Před 4 měsíci

      There's different SWA's brands which state what type of SWA they are for. Even though the cores are the same size, the type of insulation used is thicker on some compared to others.

    • @Walktheline1991
      @Walktheline1991 Před 3 měsíci

      When you reach the final size of cable for a gland size, this happens. If anything it's better as it holds your strands and you get the same spread on them all. Sounds like a Skill issue to me.

      @@Walktheline1991 LOL.

  •  Před 5 měsíci +1

    Who the f-£k designed that run??? Surely to Christ the most appropriate way would have been for the run to pass through wall then straight into trunking?????

    • @Walktheline1991
      @Walktheline1991 Před 3 měsíci

      You'd have to gland it and pull it back and forth on the ladder rack for the bigger ones. Would be just as hard
