  • Today, I will show you guys my care routine for my baby Indian star tortoises after a year: nothing changed, really. I believe consistency is key to a healthy tortoise living!!!
    Also, I made this video literally a few weeks before I actually fully cleaned the superbabies’ house.. I should have waited but that’s okay… nothin’ is stopping us from making more routine care vids, lol.
    Hope you guys enjoyed and appreciated the non-dizzying production..? I’m not really good with photography, videography, or editing but I’m trying to learn and improve. Leave your like and comment down below!! Thanks again!

      Hey Alex, in Canada the avg for baby Indian stars is between 1200-1500 and baby Burmese stars 3000-4000. These can vary between breeders.

      Hey, these guys get to about 10-12 inches. They can live in a 4x2x2 for about 2-3 years depending on how fast they grow

      @@tortallyscute you should not keep them in a glass tank, your tortoise will get stress, as they can see outside but can't go their... (According to Indian vet) 😅
      Btw I also have two tortoise of same breed.

    • @tortallyscute
      @tortallyscute  Před 4 měsíci

      @@ZED-X hey, i’ve honestly looked into this “glass” phenomenon. I found that this is true if the tank isn’t big enough for them and if they don’t have enough hiding spots and enrichment. The set up I have is filled with places they can feel comfortable and safe in and I know they never “glass surf”. Also, the stress in glass tank not only happens if the housing is small, but when new tortoises are brought home by new tortoises parents, the tortoise is already stressed due to the drastic change in their environment (sight, smell, sounds, etc) and so they try to “escape” by trying to go through the glass mostly because they don’t feel secure. If given the right safe environment, they won’t try to walk through glass. I’ve also done enormous amount of research (I still do in case info changes) and follow my exotic vets advise
      Also, they are getting an upgrade to a pvc enclosure
      Thanks for watching, btw!

    Is it legal to keep Indian star tortoise at home ? Or not

    • @tortallyscute
      @tortallyscute  Před 7 měsíci

      Hi, thanks for watching!
      My stars are captive bred and born here in Canada so it is legal to keep them here.
      About housing them, they can be kept indoors or outdoors wherever they are legal to be kept. But because I live in Canada and it is cold more than half of the year, I need to house them at home most of the time and they can come out a few times during the summer

    • @tortallyscute
      @tortallyscute  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Hello, thanks for watching.
      Unfortunately I do not know the restrictions or legalities in keeping these in India.
      If I’m not wrong, Indian star tortoises cannot be sold across countries. It really depends on the laws pertaining to keeping these animals.

    • @ZED-X
      @ZED-X Před 4 měsíci

      It's illegal to keep them in India, but i have two tortoise, I buyed it from sri Lanka, I'm from India too..

      Hello! Thanks for watching ☺️. Fake plants aren’t necessarily bad, but I get that there are still misconceptions about them. Also, tortoises are smarter than we may think
