There have been several negative comments about Jeff's singing and playing ability and to those people I say: This dude was blind. He was freaking awesome. You guys can see and you can't play and sing that well. Walk the walk, don't talk the talk.
Who the fuck could critique Jeff Healey? I saw him live a couple of times. Amazing player.
By whom.? Anyone who knows anything about guitar knows the man was a prodigy. His admirers included SRV. Enough said.
You serious... wow, who would say that?! I want names lol. Guy was a musical legend. And I think it's hard for some to get past the whole 'blind'/ 'playing technique' thing (for me, the whole sat on a chair, playing guitar like that, was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. Then I learned after that he was blind, which just added to the fascination) But the 'sight' thing aside, the people who 'know', know that Jeff Healey was an extremely gifted musician. One of the true 'one-offs. A total natural. Personally feel very honoured to have been alive at the same time as Jeff. Something I just missed out on, with Jimi Hendrix. 😊
Meh. Jeff could do it ALL. He was often on stage w/ numerous other legends for a good REASON. FUN FACT: Unbeknownst to us, back in the day, via KELOWNA, BC, we were "booked" 2 open for JEFF. Long story. Would have been great to meet him. Maybe NEXT go round, huh? A GREAT musician, late night radio host, talent & performer! #RIP
"You'll have to speak up - I'm blind" ... Love and miss ya, Jeff.
One of the all time greats. R.I.P. Jeff Healey.
so talented what an amazing artist
All I know is the dude is freaking amazing. People can say what they want but his music speaks for itself.
One of the biggest guitar heroes ever !! Thank you Jeff...R.I.P...
What a great guy....so sad we lost him...and im so lucky to have seen him play in england a few years back...simply awseome musician..
GREATEST GUITAR PLAYER EVER !
I've been a guitarist for over 40 years but if I put my guitar on my lap like Jeff does I would suddendly revert to an absolute beginner. It's so cool how he learned to play that way. I noticed one advantage he has over playing the usual way. His thumb isn't used as an anchor like usual. It's free to use as another finger and when playing solos he can use it for long fretboard stretches.
A hero on many levels in my world. Rest easy Jeff. I'm stuck here in the middle with you mate!
when ever he covers a classic he some how makes it his classic miss you Jeff thanks for inspiring me when i needed inspiration
Bass player and the drummer look like brothers... What an awesome player Jeff Healy was.
They are brothers haha
As much as Cover To Cover album wasn't my favorite, I thought this song and "As The Years Go Passing By" were awesome!!! Jeff Healey was such an amazing and unique guitarist!!! Loved watching him and his band performing in Road House!!! Rest in peace, Jeff!!!
A joy to watch, pure brilliant feeling. I remember trying to copy one of Jeff's solos and wondering how the hell he did it, then I saw.... he has FIVE digits on the fretboard. Good on ya Jeff, RIP.
the coolest guy ever. when we were starting open Eye Universe I talked to Jeff almost every day but you had to call him first and the would call right back. What a guy. he knew I was bad and told me so.I'm working on my c chord buddy.
I'm so honored to have met Jeff, years ago at the paddock in Toronto Rip 💫🎸💛
Jeff is buried in a cemetery near where i live. I visit him every Sunday.
