You need to purchase some Aqua source blanketweed resolve works first time and keeps working

Lovely pond hope to do similar job soon myself. Algae will compete for nitrates given off from the incomplete nitrogen cycle. Only with anaerobic bacteria or with more plants in the bog filter will you win this battle. The “pondguru” explains this in very well on his CZcams channel. In order for nitrates to be broken down you need anaerobic digestion . Good article here too. www.mankysanke.co.uk/html/good_water_guide__pt_16.html Plenty of other youtubers going down the route of Algicides which only serve to kill off the algae temporarily and the biological filters suffer even though the manufacturers will claim they don’t. Only to be met with a resurgence of the algae problem. I’d plant more nitrate hungry plants in the bog filter, clean the pond , feed less and maybe consider a prefilter .
By prefilter I mean before your settlement chamber a sieve or Rotary drum filter. The detritus from the bottom drain is decomposing in the prefilter even though you purge regularly the water passing over this constantly. With a pond being a closed system the sooner the waste can be removed from the loop the less of a bioload on your filter. The less waste being broken down . The less nitrates in the system. The less food for algae to compete with. Sorry for long winded comment. Hope some of it helps.

They like stagnant water maybe try an air stone in each tank.

I've put an air line into the problem barrel, so I will keep an eye on it over the next 2 weeks.

Ok. First figure out if you want it as a pond or aquarium. Second get rid of that filter system. Simplify, preasure filter with uv light. It's a major space saver, will provide mechanical and biological and uv protection for "pea soup" algae and parasites. In a pond you'll get algae its natural but the last comment is a help as well.

I'm not sure what you mean about figuring out whether I want it a pond, or aquarium. Perhaps you are referring to the glass window? It's still a pond with or without the window. Also pressure filters are less efficient and much more expensive. Even the bead filters are not great unless they form only a part of the filtration. Drum filters are the best, but they also cost thousands, so this was not an option.
I have no problem with algae being on the pond surfaces. What I don't want is blanket weed catching waste and preventing it from going through the filters. I have a UV filter and have not had the "pea soup" suspended algae at all. The issue with the mozzies has been almost completely resolved by aerating the settling chamber.

@@GaryMeatsLife Sorry about the confusion. It's a water thing. Aquariums are filtered at a rate of 7xph whereas a pond can go as low 3xph and even lower depending on the size and amount of fish. I like the window but probably going to be a PIA keeping clean, (algae).

Rosepetal Drone Thank you for clarifying. I kept tropical fish for years before going for a pond. The biggest aquarium was a 380 Litre tank with pressure filter.
I also used a pressure filter with my first pond and with regular cleaning, the water was kept clear for a while. The warmer summers were a big issue however with blanket weed choking the pump and suspended algae overwhelming the filter. It was a small pond of approx 2000 litres and I learned a lot from it. I knew I didn’t want a liner or a pressure filter in my new pond. And I definitely wanted a window for viewing the fish.
It’s very enjoyable to sit in the family room and to be able to look out at the fish. Cleaning the glass has become easier since I made my own little magnetic glass cleaner. It’s safer for the kids who no longer need to lean over the pond wall to see the fish. It’s also much easier to check the fish for problems.
