- As part of both the Certified Provisional Interpreter and Certified Interpreter test, candidates must demonstrate their ability to interpret over the phone. This mock test gives an insight into what the remote dialogue task looks like. *Please note this is a short sample of the task. The actual task runs longer: approximately 13 minutes for CPI and 20-25 minutes for CI.
LOL whatt was that plastic bag thrashing ahahahaha good lord
I don't understand why is that necessary honestly?
To mimic poor connection/signal that OPI often encounter while at work and for NAATI to test if the candidate knows how to handle such situations.
@@hoadoxu You're right, part of the interpreting job involves dealing with background noise, connection, or clarity issues. The plastic bag is a way to resemble one of those and evaluate the candidate's situational analysis skills.
Hahahahahaha that shit got me cracking hahahahahahaha
yeah that's so dumb.
The interpreter says 'Good morning' at 0:31 and 0:55 in the video. Then roughly 1 minute later at 1:50 in the the video, Doctor Brown says 'Good afternoon' without looking at a clock or the time... We can't even syncronise the script?
is the length of the conversation in the video CPI level or Certified Interpreter level? Thanks.
Hi Gary, this is a short sample of the remote task. The CPI remote task would take roughly 13 minutes, the CI takes roughly 20-25 minutes
@@naati_ Thanks, sorry I meant the length of each segment. In this video, each segment is very long. Just wondering if that is CPI level or CI level.
The italian interpreter seemed to me more aware and interested in the patient than the 'doctor ' himself. He made a question, the interpreter translated and instead of following up, he just let them know that he is leaving.... molto bruto
how long does NAATI points valid ?
Normally Three years
Don't translate it all 😕
