Id personally love to learn some French, but I live in a rural area where nobody speaks anything but English unless you go to the local Chinese restaurant or see the migrant farm workers who are living here on visa. • @Komatik_
      @Komatik_ Před rokem +6

@@LucasVenda Yes and no. The trait is called general intelligence for a reason - it plays a part in being good at just about every kind of mental task (and some less purely mental ones like pitch discrimination and reaction time, though the latter correlation is small). The thing is, intelligence is a lot like having a computer built from high end parts. Fast processor, lots of RAM etc, but still the same hardware architecture as anyone else, so subject to all the bugs and shoddy construction human brains are built with.
Where the Einstein stuff comes from is that you can't do anything with raw hardware - you need a program. Photoshop to edit images, code editors for programming, etc. And you can't just install things into a human brain, every human has to build their own software, which takes a lot of work. Smarter people can do the construction work faster, sometimes a lot faster, and can run more complicated programs, but at some point in building any skill the quick wins just dry up and all you're left with is work and practice.
And what we invest that work and practice into depends a lot on our circumstances and our personality, what we'e naturally interested in. Einstein and Shakespeare were both smart, but one was obsessed with math and physics, the other in writing stories and acting, so that's what they ended up being truly amazing at. Einstein wasn't intelligent at physics, he was *skilled* in it. His intelligence was what let him learn it at all, most people just can't even if they use much more time than he did.

We are much more than just the Doctors and 7-11 owners and cab drivers America thinks we are. With your language knowledge now, you are good to travel anywhere throughout the country. I speak Hindi, some Punjabi and Spanish, in addition to English, and you have even shown me more about South India and Gujarat and Bengali than I had ever seen. And I hope everybody sees how just making a small effort to learn a few words in someone else's language gets them to open their heart to you and connect on a level that wouldn't have been possible otherwise. Keep showcasing the languages of the world ! There is no substitute for face to face communication in this world. And I hope you remember the languages still even after you're done making the videos for them!!

In the interest of improving your pronunciation - a general rule of thumb for Telugu is that we have very few hard T and D sounds, most of them are th and dh respectively. So Telugu is actually pronounced Thelugu (don't stress the h too much though). And Telugu is generally a relaxed language without many vocal tricks, so you should be able to learn it quickly.

Although I’m not Telugu or even close to being Indian I’ve been introduced to Hinduism from my school in which we learned all about the deities, Diwali, seven tenets, and vedas. This was very educational for me so thank you! Loved seeing that statue of Ganesha

The barriers that are broken with language is wild. I live in and around a Hasidic neighborhood all my life (not Brooklyn.... Monroe NY) and I communicate with them and picked up their language, learned customs, their history, their traditions. With this they have been so generous, polite, kind with me its crazy. We all are so much alike its insane. We sing similar songs, teach children the same way, follow similar behaviors but a lot is different which is really cool and interesting. We are all human in all cultures is what its taught me. The human condition.

I’ve never found an Indian dish that I haven’t liked (though I don’t eat lamb or goat) and these look amazing! I have memories going back to maybe aged 4 or 5 and going to my mum’s friends’ Indian restaurant to eat, back when we lived in Hamburg, Germany. Unfortunately I have to limit things now because my lactose intolerance has gotten worse as I’ve gotten older😢.

My neighbors speak Telugu and they want me to see if I can pick it up. Also in regards to the free food people from India tend to be extremely hospitable to guests. I walked into my daughter's friends house and they fed me till I wasn't hungry anymore 🤣. I would say I'm full "Oh are you sure because we have more for you." I left heavier than when I arrived and they were very pleasant to be around.

As someone from Andhra Pradesh, I would give this a 8/10 simply because he Pronounces the language as TEL- ugu when it’s closer to sounding like thel - ugu. for a foreigner he understands the language but his pronunciation of a lot of the words could use some work and his accent could use some work too. But language teaching aside I definitely think it does a good job of representing India, good work.
