  • Soften the suspension to improve vehicle stability when passing obstacles.
    Due to the weight of the vehicle itself, the suspension usually too strong to provide a realistic reaction.
    We can simply add load to the body but speed and battery life will be reduced. Another way is to soften the suspension.
    I am going to show you a simple way with the least modification.

    It always depends on which RC model you have, recently the suspensions on some vehicles are optimally set, or too soft, then you have to adjust accordingly. If the engines are located at the front or rear, you can also put a counterweight in the vehicle, be it in the front area or in the rear! .

      @HappyLittleSquirrel Since I have more Wehrmacht tanks in my collection than anything new, it's also a question of money! I only buy standard plastic RC models because I also do a lot of changes such as fixing errors, remodeling, using photo-etched parts, etc., including camouflage paintings. Since most of them have the engine at the front, I occasionally put a counterweight in the rear of the vehicles to balance it out a bit, you can clearly see it in the driving behavior of the Sherman M4A4, Panther, Tiger and Co. 👍

      Well, may be we can put the lipo battery in the front to shift the CG of the model, it should help a bit.

    Is it necessary to take off the top just to adjust the suspension spring on the side of the tank?

    • @dsjay
      @dsjay  Před 2 lety

      for this old version, there is no need to remove the top.

    Can I do that on my T-72 heng long? It will be the same or not??

    • @dsjay
      @dsjay  Před 3 lety +1

      I think the idea is universal, but how to modify it will depend on the suspension design. If the T-72 model using the same torsion arm design, it should work.
      Any picture you can show the suspension design?

    how did you pierce a hole at the 12o' clock position?

    • @dsjay
      @dsjay  Před 3 lety

      I was using a 6V DC drill. As we just needed a small hole, I think not larger than 1mm, it should be quite easy even using hand drill.
