This Abus diskus lock is built tough and really packs a punch with the Abus Plus core. The Plus cores offer much better pick resistance than traditional disc detainer locks. This is a lock I would use.

But since they are more likely to use bolt cutters I would recommend a very thick Abus chain like the Protector Titan with the Abus Granite 37/80 padlock. Very expensive but very high quality. Check out a website called Lockitt I am not affiliated with them but they have some great products. Hope this helps.
I got the one size bigger 20/80 diskus as a fork lock for my motorcycle. Also got the Abus 9/16 security chain, Abus 5/8 concrete floor anchor, and Abus granit 37/80 to lock it down to the deck. I know there's better to be had, but Abus is pretty good, and really easy to get your hands on.
I think you did real good. I featured the 37/80 also and that is a beast. All great choices. I like Abus locks. At least their better ones. You should be fine. Just don’t leave it unattended for long periods of time. Ride safe.

Thank you Steve. Yes, I have seen people selling spacers and it just doesn't make sense to me. This works very well. Just cut a few different lengths and then rub the ends on some light sand paper to make them very straight, that will help keep the tool straight while picking

Cool series on these ABUS locks, really enjoy watching them. You got lucky there with the 3x zero cut in the front, my 20/70 has a 4cut in the front and i need to counter rotate withe the tensioner... Only down side on these locks is, that the core is so short, that they will not include butterfly discs in the front or back, this simplifys picking quite a bit. Thanks for sharing, great video :)
Thank you. Yes, that's why I mentioned the disc count straight up. I was a bit shocked by this but also understood the lack of space in this lock. But I beat their best a while back when I featured their 37RK/80 with butterfly discs on video 306 that is an awesome lock. I still use it to practice. Now anything less is just fun
Nice trick with the pen-tube spacers! Best 'diskus' lock I've seen and watching you work showed the more careful design tolerances of the false gates. Took more than average skill to do that quickly even with the nice Sparrows tool 👍👍 Would definitely see a grinder or bypassing the entire lock to defeat this IRL attacks so maybe a 9.5? Always a pleasure watching you work 😎
Yes, the old pen tubes can be used for many things. I recommend making 3-5 different lengths. And I agree, I would use this lock. Thanks for the kind words. MANY late nights to get to this level of picking
another great video, gotten pretty good with DD locks. I definitely still got to toy with those more and simple, will eventually try slider. still sticking to the pin and tumbler locks at least I have a better chance at keeping my sanity with those even if I don't get the open 😁
Oh yes, LOTS of that. I still remember my first open. It was the Abus Plus 88/40 Chris Capune sent me without a key. That lock changed everything. It was my nemesis for quite some time. Then it happened, I learned what to feel for and got my first open

Ya I like the Plus cores. I would recommend trying to tension from other end but if that doesn't work you may have to try find a zero somewhere in the stack to tension from. But I can add this. I have a cheap DD bike lock I cant get anything from. I tried HEAVY tension from both ends and still cant ANYTHING to bind.

Thank you. Yes, if it has the Plus on it your good. Keep in mind the hasp you will put the lock on will likely be the weak point. Their usually very thin. But I agree on the deterrent factor.
That’s a tough question. Really depends on several factors. But I usually recommend Abus Plus, Paclock, American lock, among others but if you can afford something upper level I would suggest Bowley or maybe Abloy or MUL-T-LOCK. In fact, check my video [517] That one is absolutely fantastic.
You would be hard pressed to find any padlock resistant to power tools. But this is a lock I would use. I figure any lock that requires the use of power tools is a good lock. No shimming, no raking, no tapping etc.

DO NOT USE cut away locks. Their garbage. They should only be used as a visual to see how a lock works. NOT for picking, NOT for practice. With any portion of the cylinder missing they will not act the same as a real lock.
OK, so I ended up buying the Abus Diskus. What a POS, the key jams, it is very hard to open, and often will not close all of the way, the key gets stuck at various depths of insertion. I could not recommend this lock as a fishing weight. A lock is of no use if you cannot use it
I can only recommend contacting Abus customer service Dept. Mine works flawlessly and I always recommend Abus due to their quality. Perhaps you don't have much experience using this type of lock. A disc detainer lock requires the key be inserted properly and all the way. They are quite different than a traditional pin tumbler cylinder.
@@AlbertLebel True, this is my first "disk detainer" lock, but I cannot believe any lock would be sold that is as poorly made as this Abus lock is. I was going to replace my other locks with Abus, but yesterday, I ordered Abloy. I think I have had enough of Abus for a while

Sentry, Exec, Protec etc. are all disc type cylinders and require the keys to inserted all the way and sometimes get rotated so you may have to get used to using that too. Just be patient. It's worth it. IMO, you cant go wrong with an Abloy

I have one too. My go to choice for a discus padlock. Can't pick mine yet
I must admit this one was a bit easier due to all those zero discs right up front so yours may take another minute to pick

How do I stop someone prom picking ever lock I buy, then going in and picking my safe. They picked this lock the first night.
Get a high security lock. Check out Abloy Sentry. Or Bowley locks. Also Mul T Lock. And beware, most dealers online call everything “high security”.

I called Abus, they are going to exchange my lock at no cost, including freight. Time will tell
