The only car in the segment I would consider buying. V6, AWD, actual buttons, that's all a win for me.
Does the AWD have an annoying hump in the foot well near the gas pedal?
@@sethm10yes
This is a 6 speed not an 8 speed, the 8 speed is only for the RWD
This car makes me want to stop and appreciate every line and crease. It's very interesting
Very sporty and luxurious looking sedan. The IS style is so eyes pleasing all the way around.
The AWD have the traditional 6 speed transmission while the RWD have the 8 speed transmission. I own one so just thought I could give you my 2 cents.
True lol I watched a video of someone reviewing the LC500 and they said it had a V6 😂😂 maybe it was the LC500H but idk
I agree with the body lines not connecting in the rear, but I believe overall it’s still the one of the best looking sedan right now
I had a 2021 IS 350 before I got my IS 500. I loved it. Granted, mine was the RWD version, but I think RWD is the way to go on this model. Friends or family who had a ride in this car also couldn't get over it. Lexus made a pretty great-looking car. Of course now, with the V-8, my IS has the power to back up the style, but the 350 was always a fun car to drive. I wouldn't have been interested in the IS 500 if my IS 350 wasn't great itself.
im looking to buy a used 2021 IS 350 in a few months or so and was wondering is it somewhat fast?
@@dillondeniz2342 Tough question to answer b/c it depends on what you've owned and driven before. I recommend test driving one. The IS500 is not significantly faster than the IS350 AWD b/c the AWD can really put the power down. Also, the IS500 isn't a true F car. So you're paying 10K more for the IS500 over a fully loaded IS350 AWD and all you're getting is the V8 and some barely noticeable visual detail changes. For that much more I expect a wider body and bigger wheels and tires at least...
Rear wheel up north death trap
The differential bump in the Driver's footwell of LHD AWD models makes this car uninhabitable for many people
true but for some it makes a nice rest for your right leg. it’s good for some, deal breaker for others 😂
More comfortable than a German Sedan…but also important: reliable
The sickest car out 🏆
This was an amazing review video and you did a beautiful job on your design.
That front end render looks amazing!
Love watching your car reviews! I drove the old model of that car (IS300h, the hybrid one) and it's crazy because i never drove a car that silent on the highway.... I don't like road noises at all and that car was amazing for that.... And even for suspension comfort and steering I was pretty surprised.... Such a shame that this new model doesn't come in Europe, that design is pretty sexy....
I agree, I ended up upgrading to the LC500h as they dont sell the new IS300h
They will probably start using leds for the blinkers in 2040
And that's good, Lexus is known for reliability
@@opshredderytp donkeys are reliable too. But none is buying them.
@@opshredderytphis comment has nothing to do with reliability lol
@@93ksj lmao
You can get the Triple Beam lights, which include LED indicators.
I don't hate the changes you made to this car at all. I just don't think they really make much of a difference. I agree that the car is overstyled but also agree that it gets away with it because it's so stunningly aggressive. I'm still waiting to see what changes you'd make to the new Honda Accord.
Such a shame that UK doesn't get it anymore.
Yes, Europe Lexus stopped the IS at the moment it became a dangerous contender to the germans.
Lexus IS previous generation 14-20 and current 21+ are still the most beautiful cars on the road
Such a nice car, shame they never brought the IS to the UK
I agree 100 percent that the rear looks a bit off because of the gap, and your way of solving that design issue is exactly how the final design should have been. That's the only concern I have with this 4th gen IS. Other than that I really can't point to anything else as everything else was perfectly designed with sport and elegance.
Great video beautiful car great looking wheels.!I would pick 2 wheel drive and that beautiful red exterior 👍👍
Would you recommend in getting this 2024 Lexus is350 or 2024 BMW 230 with the M sport package?
The fact that the turn signals for both front and rear are halogen is beyond me just do everything LED 💀
Its absolutely criminal these aren't available in the UK
Do the TLX type s next!
I so much like this car! Why can't we have this in Belgium??
If you don't find this car quick, it will adjust to your driving style, you can change your drive mode....and it's plenty fast for most
I like rear lites of the RC better then the IS. As a sport sedan, would like to see a flat bottom steering wheel. And still has a CD player - why? And how about wireless Apple/Android auto. Glad it’s not fast - means less chance for tickets.
Only car id consider trading my q50 for
i wouldnt say that tranmission tunnel budding out was intentional, since no more cars after this generation has it.
Dont forget the reliability from the 3.5L
Love ❤️ it
Is it a ridiculous to ask if you can do a widebody redesign on this car?
I'm sure the things you would change, they've already planned for the next model.
Over designed? Best looking sedan period!
You are waste of your time as a CZcamsr, you should be a designer! Love your design❤
Still relevant exterior design. Agreed, but bro, that interior is dated... it has a CD player. Who the heck uses a CD player nowadays. That infotainment, the steering wheel, that tiny digital dash so on and so on are dated. The entire car industry has been calling out the dated interior. It's also underpowered compared to the competition. LOL.
I agree, and the CD player is almost a deal breaker. This car spoke to me when I laid eyes on it the first time. Did a deep dive and almost let it go for the reasons you’re talking about. Then I gave it a second chance just to make sure, and bought it that day. Spent 3 months trying to find a car that makes me as happy as my new 2024 IS350.😊 This is a drivers car, and might just be perfection.
I prefer Genesis cars they have European styling no origami creases and folds.
I love the IS look from the outside, very sexy. But I cannot stand the inside. The cabin design is legit 10 years old.
Don't like how the infotainment is installed, looks like an Ipod screen glued on the dash...quite ugly
It's such a gorgeous car let down by nearly everything else about it............
Not at all. There are people out there like me who prefer an all motor over these new European turbo charged engines. I know that I am getting an engine that has shown over the history that they will last you a very long time (as long as you maintain it) if you want longevity lexus if you don’t plan to keep the car long term go with a European car.
@@EduardoISF All engine? Doesn’t even make sense. The engine is only pat of it. The car is old and outclassed and out performed by ALL the competition. The engine should last considering it’s nearly 20 years old. That’s not an accomplishment. It’s expected. Not everyone wants a car that’s already 15 years old just to keep it 15 more years. It’s pathetic reasoning, especially when Lexus makes far more modern vehicles.
@@MercOne that’s ok I really don’t care for high performance or how fast the car goes. If they really want speed the IS500 gives you almost 500hp on a V8. Some of us prefer reliability over performance. This V6 performs good enough for my taste as it’s fast enough for daily driving while it still maintains it’s reliability. 20 years from now you will still see this car in the streets. I mean really how often do you see old Audi’s old BMW’s compared to the Japanese cars? I rather pay 45k to a car that isn’t gonna give me problems to a “all fancy” German cars.
@@EduardoISF That's fine but just because you don't get it doesn't change the facts about the IS. All variants of the car is laggards vs the competition. Yeah and that 500hp V8 is no faster than the 6-cylinder competition. So much for that. Reliability over performance is just bullshit. It's what you all have told yourselves in order to justify buying an outdated car. Most cars are reliable and what you are you saying is that Lexus can't do high performance and reliability at the same time? It's specious nonsense. No one cares about "seeing" this car on the street 20 years from now, that's a terrible reason to buy a car that is already 15 years old. If it were a new design I could see that appeal, but it's already ancient and 20 years from now it will be akin to a horse and buggy. I see old BMWs all the time, open your eyes. Old Audis are junk no argument there, but buying a new car based on how many old ones you see it just stupid to me. That's fine you want a car with no problems, well your overpaying for a Lexus, a Toyota will do the same thing for far less since an appliance is what you seek, there is never anything said about the car itself, only that's it trouble free and it lasts. It's yawn inducing.
@@MercOne “buying an old car based on the cars I see” lmao I just like reliable cars. Some of us don’t want to invest in consistently having to pay big 💰 on maintenance. A lot of us like the simple stuff about the car. Not everything is electrical like most European cars where something breaks and it’s an electrical problem. Not one single European brand car company cracked the top 10 car companies in the USA. Toyota was 1st and Toyota is what you call “outdated” FWD cars, not sporty but known for reliability, gas saving engines, Hybrids etc. Goes to show you that the majority of America has preferred either Japanese vehicles over those “super charged sporty loud money pits.” I wouldn’t consider over paying when I know the car is gonna last me easily 10+ years with great maintenance.
It's a hard no for me on that wedding cake rear end.
The previous design was about as perfect as you can get in a sedan. They have restyled it for no good reason, and this new sedan is just a big mess. From the weak grill to the incoherent lines on the side to the wedding cake layered rear end, this redesign was a huge step backwards, in my opinion.
I'm also surprised they didn't upgrade the infotainment. That infotainment generation is getting pretty long in the tooth, and newer models like the newly redesigned NX has the next-gen Lexus infotainment system since the 2022 model.
It's a nice car, for sure, but I don't see why they refreshed it at all if this is the result.
Totally disagree this car has no bad angles imo
Yea this one looks way better than the last gen
Come on Lexus, when manual gearbox on such a good looking car? Please give us at least an option for manual transmission. That automated crap is for lazy women drivers, learn what Honda did with its Integra please....
Bro why u turned into a Poof all a sudden, you stopped the editing vids
There's editing in this video
This is so overpriced holy crap
It is a little Bit weird to See an ex cardesigner to Talk in such a Positiv way about a Car that is objectively judged: Not more than a mess
I have never heard any Car reviewer talking Like this about Lexus. Their Cars are Not a little Bit outdatet. Let s face the truth: they are the Definition of outdatet.
It is unbelievable that they even try to sell some oldtimers from the factory.
