Two years here. I’ve been doing some exercises for it, and I believe they have helped me. But simply not giving attention to the ringing I think is the most important thing. Mine I’d say is about 1 or 2 in a scale of 1-10. But I barely notice it because I don’t give attention to it, almost like it’s not there. Lately I started avoiding junk food (to loose some weight), you know, fast food, coke, chips, and I’ve noticed that it’s even lower.

I've had tinitus for years but recently it got so loud I thought I was going crazy so I went to the local er at the hospital. While I was there they did a cat scan and admitted me over night through the night I couldn't sleep and the nurse would bring different things to try to get me some sleep due to the ringing in my ears finally around 1:30 am she brought me a small pill and I woke up at almost 11am the next morning and I noticed the ringing was down to almost nothing. Well I asked the nurse what did you give me because the ringing in my ear was almost barely noticeable and she said I gave you hydroxyzine and I told her that it has given me more relief then I've had in years. Well long story short I take 1 25mg tablet at night before bed when I need it and it as changed everything I now can sleep and I barley hear the ringing anymore.

I was at a concert last month and it was loud, and was also headbanging like crazy, because I haven't been to a gig in a while. So I headbanged like it was my last. Who would have thought ever since that day I would have really bad Tinnitus that I would have thoughts of doing something bad.
Wasn't, too. I saw a video on Somatic Tinnitus that I am 100% the Tinnitus is due because my back and neck issues came on after the gig. And I have had a hunchback for a while.
So I booked chiropractor/physiotherapist for next week, I've tired acupuncture, that doesn't seem to work. I'm hopefully it will go right down when we find me issue.
    Thanks for video.
    Might try hypnotherapy as well.

Freaked me out, did all the test with no hearing loss. Now I tried, acupuncture, chiropractors, sacral cranial specialist, feldenkrais method and it is still with me 2+ years. I have 1 or 2 good days and the rest are not good.

My ENT said ... man your hearing is normal for your age, look for the cause of that neck pain .... that was also three years ago. When I lock my hands behind my head and pull forward while using neck muscles to resist the pull my tinnitus gets stronger then when I let go its less than it was. I should start doing neck exercises I guess. I also have an issue with my tympanic muscle that has gotten better as I'm retiring. Anticipation of noise can cause it to react to reduce the sound resulting in a loss of certain frequencies and a general deadening of noise. Just the fact that my tinnitus is not constant says that its not independent of factors that can be modified.

This is an excellent example of the danger of anecdotal evidence and the placebo effect. His experience represents badly uncontrolled experimentation and the fact that correlation doesn't equal causation. Your motives are probably good, but this kind of information is insidious and dangerous. It's irresposible of you to put this out.
