    It takes a lot of land to build a golf course and game is mainly played by the wealthy and its a popular game.

    Golfers tried to destory my local nature reserve, but its nowhere near the evil that the Oka Tribe felt.

      I've heard about that as well. But from what I know, they brought back the idea and it was shut down if I'm right... people around here (I live nearby) haven't forget how bad it became!
