    Dave, I have been following you channel now for a little while and really enjoy seeing your creations! Want to try some myself out here in Maryland at my pool. I am headed to La Jolla, CA next week and was wondering are there any projects you have done in that area I can see first hand to get some ideas? Best of luck to you and keep up the great work!

      What about the cold regions?

    • @DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos
      @DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos  Před 4 lety

      Hi Viktor, Yes colder climates need a different mix design. I would consult with local concrete contractors to find out what they recommend. What additives? Etc. My mortar mixes are simply 3 to 1, 2 to 1, or 1 to 1 sand to portland cement. I also add an acrylic add-mix to all texture coats. Then just bagged 4000psi concrete mix from Home Depot or 3000psi shotcrete. That's it. Anyway, thanks for watching my videos. If you're interested I also have an online store with FREE pdf downloads and videos you might like at www.davehenderson.podia.com Also, blogs and links to other platforms at www.daverhenderson.com Anyway, thanks again! Now go have an awesome day NO MATTER WHAT! Cheers, Mr. Dave :)

    How do u put the burlap on the inside and make it stay,????

    • @DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos
      @DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos  Před 5 lety

      Simple. Just use fencing hog rings that I get from Home Depot in the fencing section. I have a free mini course you can watch at www.davehenderson.podia.com that shows the burlaping more closely. Also have blogs at www.daverhenderson.com. Anyway, thanks for checking out my content. Really appreciate it. Cheers. Mr. Dave :)

    Is it hard to get the pegboard off after you pour it

    • @DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos
      @DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos  Před 4 měsíci

      Not really. I use an angle grinder with a 4.5" diamond disc to hit the tie wires then off the sheets come. Filling all the voids and holes is more of a pain though... :)

    How long does it take a make a 6 ot 7 tall grotto maybe 6 to 7 feet wide?

    • @DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos
      @DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos  Před 4 lety

      Depends on how many people are building it, site access, and the complexity of the design, and the building approach used, (full rebar construction compared to castings for example). Castings being pre-cast shapes can go very quickly. They to often are not properly installed however leading to cracking, leaking, and failure over time. But for me and my approach you'd be looking at 2 to 4 weeks excluding rain delays.... Good question Pureswank. For other fake rock how-to's go to www.davehenderson.podia.com. Have FREE pdf downloads and some books there etc. For my blogs go to www.daverhenderson.com Anyway, thanks for the message. Have a great day! Cheers, Mr. Dave :)

    What happened to your left arm?

    • @DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos
      @DaveHendersonFakeRockVideos  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey James, I have Polycystic Kidney disease which over time kills kidneys. What's on my arm is called a fistula. It's used to allow for dialysis. Two needles are placed into it to allow for the kidney machine to run for 4 hours during each session 3 days a week when I need that to keep me alive. Fortunately, I'm on my second kidney transplant and am doing well thus I'm not needing dialysis now. Yay! Thanks for the question. Have a great day!
