It's his wife Morgane Stapleton...when he sings he looks her in the eyes...they have 5 babies... She is also the reason we even have him as a singer. He suffered from debilitating stage fright... She convinced him (1) the world needed to hear his voice and (2) she would be there with him. He has written songs for Adele and many other artists for years and I think they have recorded over 100 songs by him with multiple #1 hits among those singers.

Chris and his wife Morgane got married in 2012 and have had FIVE kids in that amount of time, even with their busy careers. Morgane was signed and a backup singer for other famous artists before Chris was signed. They’re kindred spirits and their energy on stage is so obvious and amazing. A couple with an amazing amount of love and humility.❤

Everybody keeps saying it was Chris, but I had someone correct me and challenge me to Google it, and I could only find info on Morgane being the one who had stage fright, not Chris.
The live version of this with his wife, is, in my opinion, better than the record.
The live version of this song at Austin City Limits is even better than the studio version. You really need to watch it, it is Amazing and the connection he has with his wife, who sings backup, is a wonderful thing to witness.

This is how myself a country boy gets down . Danced with my lady to this song just a few nights ago in the kitchen .
We recently had a BBQ for my aunt’s 93rd Birthday. We were playin a lot of music and I decided to play this for her. I said, I really think you love this man’s voice. After I started playing it, she suddenly said, start that over and everybody be quiet please. After the song finished I asked her what the thought? She said, Mmmmm that man just made me have a little personal summer right here in front of everybody. It took some a few seconds to know exactly what she meant by that and then we all literally fell out laughing. It was PRICELESS!!!

Im not really a country fan im more a hip hop head but i love Chris Stapleton. There just something about this guy. Next timw you react to him react to one of his lives. Like *Sometimes i cry* or even do *Tennessee wiskey* at Austin city limits where he actually has his wife singin the backup vocals.
I also have to recommend *Fire away* which is such a good song and video is just as good. I usually recommend to listen to Chris stapleton live but this one song the video is the best in this case.
