Thank you all so much for watching and sharing my video! I am overwhelmed with how many people have shared my videos and it makes me so happy to know that my videos are reaching millions of people around the world!
Just to let you know I have recently set up a patreon page to help me so I can cut down the hours at work and have a day a week to make more content of everyone of you! (Instead of working from 8pm to well past 1am most nights when I am making and editing videos, it's the only time I have spare!)
If you could spare a dollar or two per video it would mean the world to me and when I get to $100 per creation to give something back I will be doing a prize draw every new video to win one of my pens to one lucky pateron!
Click here to see my patreon page and the other things I give to my paterons!

James Garwood You’ve Definitely Earned A Subscriber!!! Keep Up The Great Work!!!!
James Garwood you’re amazing man, would you consider doing a segmented pen in Purple Heart and ebony wood? I know that would look amazing!
Fantastic work James! I can't wait to see a 1 million segment pen for 1 million subscribers! 😁
Haha! 🤣🤣🤣 if I get there I will definitely make something with 1 million segments in... somehow lol
I had better start cutting them now!!
@@JamesGarwood lol yes you'd better... "Well guys it's been 5 years since my last video, but here's my new pen!" 😂
Finishing plane shavings!
@@markbeiser 😋😝
For 5k can you get a new bandsaw blade ?
instagram.com/p/BqLM9MoBq2E/?igshid=o6c1kcnu6027
My thoughts exactly
Lmao I read this as the first cutting seen came on and now I can’t unsee it
Just think what I could do with a sharp bandsaw!
@White Marlin it usually get abused cutting firewood up so not too worried about it, I've got a better band saw now which you can see in my latest video here czcams.com/video/_HpWy_OMrVE/video.html
Thank you for showing, excellent work, very ingenious, good
video thank you and have a nice day.
Thank you for watching and enjoying them! Wishing you a great day too!
I can't wait to see the 16,000 segment pen
I'll get there soon!
From 500 to 4000 subs in three months. You're growing and you really deserve it :)
Thank you! I will try to keep it up! 😁
from 4000 to 6000 in 4 days!!!
15k now! I was the 11,750th sub only 3 days ago!
20k now
Awesome video and idea. True craftsman right here. I love how your final touches were done with that big bench vice. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, I do like assembling them at the bench,
Unbelievable amount of work and it's top notch. Just kills me to see it used on a $2 slimline. It's worthy of so much more. Well done
Thank you, I wanted to see how good I could make a slimline, I do like a slimline pen if they are done well and not a "fat" slimline, I think this pen ended up coming from a couple of different pen kits in the end
Wow...amazing...
Thank you!
One of those segments is me! Adorable
It sure is! Thank you for subscribing 😁
Way to nice to be a ballpoint.
And from ~500 on 10-09-18 to ~2.6K on 01-07-19 is impressive too.
I tried a nicer kit but I needed the room in this one to get exactly 500 bits in, I like a rollerball but I use this kit as my everyday pen, I know, it's going really mad at the minute!
This is the second or third video I've watched and am amazed and greatful. Great craftsmanship. Thanks for the vids.
Thank you very much 😁
Yes very Nice and very good job 👍👏👏
Thank you Albert!
Not too long until your 5,000 segment pen...
Willtato oop
We made it! There will be a 5000 something made soon
@@JamesGarwood Congratulations
He is at 6k. Thats nuts
Thanks everyone, it is going nuts!
I just steal pens at the bank.
Lol 🤣😂🤣
I'll bet it takes a lot of practice to master that art.
Thank you! 😁
@@nachito5841 it's all in the way you turn the pen
Problem is here that they put the pens on little chains in the banks 🙄
One of the few videos that shows you step by step instructions. Thanks James. Hope your channel does well.
Thanks Dean, it's a fine line between showing each step and keeping it fun to watch, I am getting there with the editing now and hopefully I'm getting close! 😁
I am touched by that pen. I don't know why I started watching, but it was a lovely surprise.
Beastly talent. And well deserved sub count over 3.7 k. Add one more cheers mate. From California
Thank you rekozma! And hello from the UK 😁
Absolutely incredible, such a work of art. Can't wait till your making a segment for 10k 😄 so close and growing so fast 😃
I know! I'm trying to keep up! I was going to do 1000, 2000, 3000 etc but it's gone nuts, I still might after the 1000 segments video 😁
@@JamesGarwood 😄 Well keep it up , I just subscribed so I am super excited to see your future content 😃 keep going 👍
Thank you, there should be a new video Friday, 😁
@@JamesGarwood watching it right now
Thank you! Might change the thumbnail for it
This is great! I’m a beginner blacksmith so I deal primarily with metal, however it makes me appreciate the effort that goes into any hand crafted items such as yours. I envy your woodworking skills. Things like this are not learned in a day.
Thank you! I could of done with your skills last year when making a metal frame for my soapbox, it wasn't pretty but it got the job done, I can appreciate people who work with metal because I find it hard work,
I LOVE woodworking and I love seeing the dedication and work that was put into this.
Thank you!😁
Well done. I will say it seems your bandsaw needs a tune up... New blade....? It seemed to be working too hard for those little bits of wood.
Thanks Peter, Yes it did but it's not my bandsaw and sees more firewood than procession bits like this, I've gone and got myself a new bandsaw now and it will be in my next video, I've got a picture of it on my Instagram page if you want to see 😁
just move the thrust bearing forward a bit and problem solved
Thank you clarisa 😁
Yes I know the band saw needs tuning up a bit! 😂😂😂 I've got a new bandsaw now which you can see in my latest video here czcams.com/video/_HpWy_OMrVE/video.html I hope you like it as much as this video! 😁
@CASPER 12345 no problem Casper, thanks for watching! 😁
@@JamesGarwood imagine if you did this when you hit 10k subs :-)
@@thewilddinkus8026 the 1000 segment pen is finished, just finishing up the editing and it will be up on CZcams soon! Then on to 10'000 😂😁

Anyone else sweating when he had it in the vice?
Yes me! 🙋🏼♂️

Thank you 😁
Wow that is beautiful
Very much enjoyed your video and gave it a thumbs up
Thank you Russell, I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you very much for the thumbs up, It means a lot all the positive feedback from everyone, 😊
Your very welcome!! I let every video I like that I give it a thumbs up like I think everyone should but they don't for some reason
@@oneshotme that's really nice to take the time to do that, I'm do but I'm going to do it more now 😁
Always great to watch...……..I calculate $1200 to $1500 for such a 'one of a kind' pen...…...out of my range for sure but well worth the price !
Awesome, thanks for sharing.
When someone says "can I borrow your pen?"
Ive got an old bic just for this question 😋
Haha that’s some dedication right there! Nice pen dude!
Thanks Dan 😁 it took some figuring out to get exactly to 500 bits but it was worth it, thank you for watching! 😊
Beautiful!
Thank you deke76!
Wow awesome work
Thank you 👍🏻
This is a woodworkers version of quilting.
Haha, Yes it is a bit! Thank you for watching! 😁
I have that same vice! They made them to last - it was my wife's grandfather's.
Oh - lovely pen!
Thank you, I've just given it a sand and a coat of black paint, I'm sure it will be in a upcoming video again so you can see, found out it was red to begin with and I might spray it red one day but I only had black in the workshop 🙄 thank you for watching!
I no longer wonder how pens are crafted, thank you. Very nice!
Thank you Carole!! 😁
Great to see you doing well! Subbed 👍
Thank you JM! Happy New year to you! 😁
So wholesome. Try a 3k one :)
Lol I've got to do a 1k one first! 🤣
Execellent workmanship. Anyone would be proud to use one of these pens. Congratulations to the winner.
Now almost 50k so,happy 50k subs in advance 😊
Its getting there! I'm planning the 50k segment challenge now 😄
I want to know more about the super glue finish you put on every time I tried it wound grab and get stuck
I'd love to help you out, What would you like to know?
what's the spray?
Is it certain type of glue you use ?
The spray is accelerator the CA glue, it makes it set quicker, the glue I use is called bond-it CA glue and accelerator
An incredible amount of work went into this he deserves 500k subscribers not 500
Thank you Simon! 😁
Это шедевр ручной работы! Дерзай дальше! Привет из Сибири, с Байкала! Удачи!
Wow ! You are a better man than I am Gunga Din. That would have taken ages to make. You must have very long days where you live. Well done.
This channel reminds me of peter browns channel so I’m going to sub to you and hope you get to his level of subs soon :)
Thank you! I hope I do too! I'll be seeing him at maker's central this year so I hope it's by then lol 🤣

Very elegant. The only complaint is that I, in the gluing phase, would try to perfectly smooth the various parts of the composition, seeking perfection. Congratulations.
Beautiful 👍 👍 👍

Yes, i use a lathe. I really enjoy it.
I've never made a ring on the lathe, I'll have to try one some day, do you have any pictures on Instagram or anywhere?
Nice pen.
How do you get the glue off your fingers?
Haha, this is the best question yet, I forget how many times I glued my fingers together making this pen, I did have lots of glue on my fingers after, it flakes off your fingers after a while so I just leave it, nothing I've got affects it to remove it, thanks for watching 😁
Acetone should do it if you're unwilling to wait, but it's not good for you to use very often.
@@JensWoodworkingThings yes I wouldn't want that on my fingers very often, it comes off easy after a while so not too bothered 😁
What is the can of spray that you where using? There's nothing more beautiful than working with wood, lovely work 👍 👍
That was activator foe the CA glue, it makes it set quicker, 😁
I've seen some gay ass pens in my day. But this takes the whole cake plus a slice.
Thanks for watching anyway 😁

That is awesome. It kinda looks like corn.
Thank you Jody yes it did end up looking like corn, I should try a yellow wood instead of the maple next time! 🌽

Nice looking pen... And wow... same lathe as I have. Well... other than some customized handles to replace the missing arms that press fit in and one got lost.
