Octavia has been confirmed to be 17 and we know Loona was adopted before she turned 18. So chances are she may be 19, 20, or even older depending on how much time has passed between the adoption and this episode. So seeing them bond as sisters is the more likely outcome.

I could literally feel Octavia's line about Stolas hating her mum more than he loves her hit you in the chest like a hammer.
Its a deep line, but it really shows how deep when it hits home in someone like that.
Detail on loonas flashback she kept being returned to the adoption center due to her atiitude whoch made her worse as she lashed out She started test limits deliberatly similair to blitz pushing people away she has same issues
Blitz is first person who hasnt thrown her away for her atitude thats why she so insecure about being replaced
that kind of relationship between the two of them will probably just strengthen them ten fold in the long run
Stolas always found Blitz funny even when they were kids and laughed at the horse with no legs joke during the circus scene in Season 2 Episode 1.

Funnily enough when Octavia landed in LA Brandon Ragers ODed in front of her. So Blitz's meltdown will be remebered as Ragers final perfomance where he flipped out about a random dog, shot and killed studio security and bruned down the studio only to be found hours later dead from an overdose in the street halfway across town. While a I know a lot of fans want to ship Loona ad Octavia I just get more of a big sister vibe off Loona when they talk that shipping them feels.. icky? Octavia learning spells from her dad makes sense, she literally a backup Incase Stolas does, which is a rough poistion in life, that your paretns got married and had you by political mandate. Piemon (Stolas') dad doesn't strike me as havieng the tact to keep such a thing on the down low, and if Octavia asked him he'd tell her yes that's why she's here... After someone explaining to him who she was.
I TOTALLY MISSED THAT IT WAS BRANDON RAGERS IN THE BEGINNING. That's a hilarious way for the show to explain away Blitz being so drastically visible, haha
also, I agree about Via and Loona. I mention it at the end of the video, but I'm more confident saying I was projecting my crush on their very sweet interaction 😅

The almost in sync "Yeah.." at 23:22 was kinda awesome.
I was about the age Octavia is here when my parents went through a very unpleasant divorce. That line of Via's was pretty on point in my experience. It's pretty cool when Luna realizes what she's saying to Via applies to her as well. Given the age difference I expect Via and Loona will remain just good friends, but she didn't freak when Via hugged her which is pretty unusual for Loona. She's not exactly the huggy type normally.
I always tear up during the Loona - Octavia parent talk scene as well

There's a lot to unpack here, but first Stolas is sassy as fuck this episode. holy shit I love it.
I liked the setup for Octiva doing all of this and not knowing what she truly is doing and more done in the heat of the moment. fun fact did you notice the person she landed on when she got to LA was this world's Bradon Rogers, which is why they confused Blitzo since he didn't 'show up'.
and the fact they had Blitzo 'playing' him was such a meta-joke it couldn't work anywhere else. but jokes aside we also get some unexpected flashbacks for him and Loona. hell the episode for them started out with him trying to do tough love for her and just seeing the adoption. man I never I would see Loona looking so scared, and even if she denies it she knows Blitzo helped her out and has been a caring of a bit dotting father for her.
"*gasp* the acid in the LA water!" and that right there is one reason why I like watching your reactions to this series (besides the Loona and Verosika simping/wet dreaming) is you notice things in the background faster and first viewing than others and can make connections because of it. others I have seen didn't make that connection. Hell I didn't even notice the poster my first viewing.

i was not expecting that flashback at all but it was so precious to see. it breaks my heart seeing her in that position, but her little smile at the end of the episode when she hit Blitz with the book made it worth it

These characters feel so real it actually hurts... yet somehow, in a comforting way. It hurts to see parents falling out, and some of us really have asked why our parents hate each other so much that it overshadows their love for their kids. But watching this shows that we're not alone. People have gone through what Via did. Her character feels so real to me that I just wanna tell her something, knowing what I now know about Stella. "I understand why you feel that way, sweetie, and you're not wrong for worrying about it. But he really does love you. There's just so much he's going through; really hard shit, but in the end, he's trying his best for your happiness." I'd want to tell her that if she were real. And in a way, she is, because she is a heartwrenching representation of broken families.
It took me way too long to figure out the guy throwing up with his eye popped out when Octavia first gets to L.A is Brandon Ragers, the actor Blitzo is mistaken for.

there is a sad fact "age out" is a term meaning No longer eligible for services or goverment protections. To put it bluntly if it wasnt for blizo, she would have been "thrown to the wolves " as one way to put it.

I was also the same age as octavia when my parents divorced and even though im not good terms with either of my parents/went no contact for my own safety, her situation still really touches me and brings me comfort
Yeeeeee like others said, as far as we know Via's still 17 (they probably wouldn't just not mention her birthday at all), and Loona's in her early 20s, so if they did go for a romance angle, they almost certainly wouldn't make any interactions between them overtly romantic for a while, and this would just be setting up the initial bonding/friendship before it. They could also end up going a sisterly route, or have Via get a unrequited crush.
after reflecting since posting this upload, I think I was just projecting my own crush on Loona and that it was intended to just be a sisterly bonding moment

Blitz's flashback to the hellhound adoption really solidifies how much he loves and cares for Loona.
She does have anger issues, and I don't think it's just "edgy teen" anger, it's something more deeply rooted. But I love how Blitz's love, despite how he acts, is basically unconditional towards her. No matter how much she pushes back, he loves her daughter.

18:55 Oh the transitions that involve movement are always the best but as far as i heard from an animation standpoint they are also the ones with the most work put into so they are pretty rare. I love that Helluva Boss does them so often and consistent.
21:30 i think the reason why he adopted her was since he could relate to what people said about her, to never amount to anything. Its genuinly sad and he wanted to prove that she can have acomplishments and overcome her problems and show it to them. Like he said in the pilot he wanted to show that imps can do things that everybody else can. I can also somewhat relate to Loona since i was in a similar situation with atitude and people abandoning me. I just really want to give both of them a big hug.

I also want to see more of Loonas side of their relationship since we pretty much got the picture now but Loona obviously has somewhat mixed thoughts about it and it would be cool to see it more established although i already really appreciate that we got more of our tall hellhound goddess in this episode.

Yayyyy I , Your Dutch fan have been waiting for this reaction since 2 weeks now !! I'm so happy you're caught up now but also feel bad that you have to wait as long as us now :( . Also JUST IN CASE you didn't read my thoughts on this episode in my answer to your answer in the last reaction here it is again :) : As for Episode 2 I LOVED human Stolas and his sassyness towards Stella and even to Blitz for a moment with "then what is moxxies phone number ?" . So it is not impossible for the imps to have human disguises if Stolas had his Grimoire . I do secretly hope to see one episode with them all as humans . The smallest issue I have with the episode really is that they didn't address what happened at Ozzies but that they were occasionally flirting mutually as if nothing happened . On the other hand I noticed Stolas respected Blitz's boundaries alot more like he wasn't as oversexual as he usually was towards Blitz and his blushes made me fanboy . He also calls him Blitz now instead of Blitzy . And I Adored Octavia and Loonas scene together . Just in case you thought of shipping them (some reactors did) Loona is canonically 22 years old (like me lmao) that is what Vizviepop confirmed on one of her livestreams and Octavia is 17 ofcourse . Millie also said she is 5 years older than Loona making her 27 and Moxxie 27/28ish So I see them as sisters and if Stolitz is officially canon and healthy they make the PERFECT sisters IMO . And Loonas backstory where she cried in the shelter because she soon ages out made even me tear up a little . Blitz clearly saw ALOT of himself in her . I just really loved the ending of that episode the most ! Season 2 is definitely a notch up this also kinda concludes my thoughts on episode 2 already since you already seen it . And I look super much forward in seeing your reaction to it !! Also in case you didn't catch it . The producer burned because LA water is 90% acid a poster said in the background ^^
I've been wondering why things between Blitz and Stolas felt so natural in this episode and I think its to your point about boundaries. I even feel like they wouldn't be interacting at this point if Via didn't jack the book, so this episode is meant to be the driving force that brought them together.

@@NevaehEvol what I love about the episode is that there clearly is a big positive improvement in Stolitz relationship . They should keep building things up . That smile he gave stolas as he said "breathless" is also implying to me that he might rekindle feelings for him again deep down somewhere . I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out also also another comment on another reaction said something like "Stolas was laughing not just at the wife fell down the stairs joke because it was funny to him but this comment also believes Stolas deep down wishes this also happened to Stella and he is laughing at the thought . And I personally Like and support that theory hahaha

(Let's start with the fact that I haven't seen any episode after this one, so I don't know if she changes as the time passes by, and I don't care because I don't want spoilers)
But it just impresses me how everyone tolerates Loona being a complete ahole to Blitz and pretty much everyone 90% of of the time, even though we know how much Blitz cares about her (But I have to admit her care for Octavia is adorable and wholesome). But still, is there anyone who loves THIS part of her without simping for her?

Loona is Blitz's adopted daughter, Octavia is Stolas's biological daughter. Blitz and Stolas are an item. IF, (unlikely) Stolas and Blitz got married or something Octavia and Loona would be Step Siblings. If Hell was a Hindu caste system, Loona would be an untouchable and Octavia would be, and is royalty. I don't think Loona is Gay, I definitely don't think Octavia is Gay. Even if they were, there are so many reasons why I think they would be gay for each other.

Looking back at this episode reminds me of just how seriously OVERRATED the whole 'Loona and Octavia are sisters' take has become, and how these two exploring a FRIENDSHIP that's allowed to be entirely independent of whatever their dads have going on is so much more INTERESTING. Like how these two bonding and connecting so well really has NOTHING to do with the fact that their dads just happen to be fucking each other on the side, and is instead due to their shared interests and a deep, mutual understanding and relating to the problems the other is going through.
Particularly when we factor in recent developments like the implosion of their dads' dysfunctional wreak of a relationship for what is looking to be the foreseeable future, giving these two even LESS reason to actually view each other as 'sisters', and I think it's just far more INTERESTING to envision Loona and Octavia really building their own friendship themselves, instead of some hackneyed 'cute sisters' relationships that is simply an extension of whatever their dads don't even have going on anymore.

While i do think the show is leaning more into Via and Loona having a more sibling like relationship, on the topic of the two of them being gay an interesting parallel with the scene at the observatory is that lesbian art uses cigarettes and smoking to imply queerness. So, whether intentional or not, Via lighting Loona's cigarette has queer subtext
I do also love the idea of a lesbian older sister being protective of her younger sister and showing her how to navigate the shitty world. no matter what they do, I'm sure they'll do it well!
