Test and review of Mean Well LRS 600 12 power supply

  • So the Mean Well power supplies are build pretty cheap but I didn't think they would go this low. This is a comparing the Mean Well LRS-600-12 vs Mean Well SE-600-12 power supply

    the LRS power supply lasted 30 minutes
    the SE model lasted 4 hours but I'll run another test on the SE model just in case the first one was a lemon.

    Its supposed to have overtemp protection, what was the actual case temperature? 90% efficient means the fan has to dissipate 60W which does seem a bit difficult.

    its a good PSU you are gonna kill it thou, i dont think it was designed for continuous MAX current output

      Okay, and the SE 600 12 is? Where does it say? Not in the specs. If its not design for it it should be specified.

    With a spade terminal you can get 12 or even 10 gauge wire attached to those terminals just fine. You really shouldn't be stuffing bare wires into these terminals like this for a few different reasons.

    why would I even want bother with this cheap crap? Even without any test, you can clearly see this can not handle 50 A so why waste my time any further?
