Hi Steve 1st time I am watching your video here. You sound like a very knowledgeable gentleman who sincerely sounds like you know everything about the Trucking Industry. I have watched so many videos on CZcams and I can tell you either they don't have a clue, and or they don't have any knowledge, or little knowledge to being shady trying to make money on CZcams videos. Also for the most part, most videos and the speakers aren't being truthful, and I know this from my 43 years of Driving Trucks. Actually I was 17 years old and I left to my home town of Kelowna B.C Canada ( west coast ) and drove to Northern Alberta and I drove Off Road Over Sized Logging Trucks and I did this for 6 months without a Class One with Air Driver's License lol Honestly..... They only came up North one time per 6 months. Met the Driver Examiner in a Parking Lot, with a Full Load of Logs on my Truck. He hopped in, and asked me how long I had been driving and my employer's name. He knew him. He just filled out a pc of paper and I signed it and 6 months later I received my Class One % Air Endorsement International Commercial Drivers License from Transport Canada. You are a very detailed speaker, about everything to do to become a truck driver etc. I just finished 43 years of driving just about every Type of Truck and Trailer Combination all over North America and Accident Free. I have been a Driver and a Owner Operator and Contractor Dispatcher, and Consultant. But I was in a Life Threatening Accident, where I was repairing one of my Dozers on my ranch. However as much as I would love to Drive Truck again, one day I'm good and the next day not so good. Additionally, I wouldn't be able to sit for long periods of time. On Life Support and in a Coma for 3 months and I broke my neck, back, shoulder, ribs, leg, jaw, hand and fingers..... The Doctors suggested my parents to remove me off life support, because I had no Brain Activity and even if I did live they told them I would be paralyzed from the neck down. My parents refused.... With the Grace of God I woke up, and I slowly walked out of the hospital, in 6 months in a Walker. Had to learn everything from like being a New Born eating talking thinking walking and like everything else. After 2 years, and the grace of God and my extreme ambition, and extremely difficult and frustrating drive, I'm back to where I was before my accident. I've been thinking about some ideas to start a New Trucking Company Online because I'm going crazy because I can't do what I want and enjoy. I have created 3 other companies myself back in the early 1990s and owned and operated them. I'm a entrepreneur type of guy who loves the Transportation Industry and Helping people and making a few bucks. Trying to make up for all the money I had to burn through after my accident too. Basically I wanted to know if you could give me some advice on starting a at home based trucking business, online, where I can teach new truck drivers and owner operators everything I learned and experienced in the past 43 years. I'm not really Tech Savvy on computers but I'm sure I could learn. I have taught many Truck Drivers in my past where some have never ever been to the west coast over steep mountain passes in the winter time to how to back up a Set of Super B Trailers to Roadside Repairs to how to get ther license, how to drive, how and when and where to put chains on, all types of secure loads, weights, and border crossings between our 2 countries to like everything. Not to brag but I certainly got some good advice from some much older dudes when I started and learned everything else needed in the 43 years. If you have any suggestions about how I can start a online truck driver teaching, about everything anyone would need to know, and the many tricks of the trade, and my knowledge and help people get Their Truck Drivers License and everything I mentioned above, but without doing anything physical, doing everything/ some things online, with no start up costs. I have a real people people attitude and I'm a people helping type of guy, who gets along with everyone, no matter what, and I am a fantastic communicator, and teacher to people who want to become a truck driver and or become a successful Owner Operator in the Transportation Industry, from my 43 years of experience. ( I'm not bragging at all here ) Something I don't have to be at home to work, and set up a system that's simple, easy for people to understand, and so I can make money too. So again my new friend, if you have any advice on this topic and you wish to share some with me, it would be greatly appreciated big time. On the discussion of the insurance, you mention about putting money down up front and that you will get it back from loads. So in reality, I can't have a trucking company without a truck.
Me being the entrepreneur, I would suggest reduce your margin and transfer that reduction to Truck Driver. This way the model will sustain. The next step will be sell more.
There isn't a shortage of drivers. The real issue is the retention of drivers. Most starter/mega companies pay slave wages and treat most drivers, especially new ones, like shit.

I see here many try to get O/O and industry need a lot but Steve first explain starting as owner operator because seems confusing from teaching redirect them toward your business with brokerage and believe they will have 5-10 trucks before starting with one...beside lot of expenses when starting and if they do not have driving experience ...get stuck also is not easy finding truck drivers in case someone leave ,truck payments,insurance ,etc
