      It's also because that whole party is ripe to unravel any amendment that gives rights to women. Reverting laws & the Constitution back to the pre civil war era makes us women the property of men all over again.
      This isn't about us having abortions or choices in medical care more than it is about total and complete control. Several states have passed laws that ALLOW girls as young as 10 to be married to men of any age - with severe age gaps - 10 & 46, for instance.

    Judge Merchan has already expressed his reluctance to do anything against a presidential candidate! If Trump is found guilty, the judge needs to grow a pair, apply the law and incarcerate him like anyone else would be.       Being confrontational with a narcissist will always get you the opposite of what you want. If Judge Merchan wants to preserve the integrity of his court, he cannot confront Trump directly. He can even afford to be a little appeasing, because once the verdict comes down, this particular narcissist will be out of his court and out of his hair. I think he understands that, if not in precisely those terms, and chose the right path. Tfg will never know he was lying through his teeth about his “reluctance to put a presidential candidate in jail.” But we’ll see.

      There are sound reasons for Merchan to be judicious in his management of his court, to avoid the appearance of bias, but just as important, to give the defense fewer issues upon which to file an appeal. He's a really good judge, he knows exactly what he's doing.

      Right? If you fear testifying, because threatening the jury or judge or anyone else connected to them extrajudicially isn't permitted, then you're admitting guilt. An innocent person can testify their account without fear of self incrimination or committing yet more crimes. 🤦

      This would show how small the amount of words has become both due to his fear and the dementia going on .

      @@regineheine5707 Yeah, I wasn’t very clear in what I said. His words and actions in the courtroom should absolutely count with the jury. However, juries are supposed to not read or watch any news or opinion about the case outside of the court. That’s for the judge to deal with, and I hope that as soon as the jury retires to consider their verdict, the judge jails Trump for his additional instances of contempt. Just breaking his bail conditions should have him confined until sentence.

      You’re not “few”, you’re the majority. Look at how small the numbers voting in closed Republican primaries are. In some places half the 2020 vote. And one in six has been voting for Nikki Hayley months after she bowed out. Although they have captured the Republican Party machinery, the Trumpists / MAGA are a very loud minority in the US.

    I hope Judge Merchan throws the book at Don Poorleone, including contempt crimes, and sends him straight to the slammer, because he is a flight risk. Trump has a strong sense of entitlement, and thinks he can call the shots and run the show. He will most likely yell and curse at the judge, as he leaves the courtroom kicking and screaming. It’s funny how the man-child is emboldened when he steps onto the street, but doesn’t speak when he’s in the courtroom.

      Actually, it isn't. If you have a real judge on the bench, he or she runs that room. I've been in a courtroom 3 times, as a witness. You learn very quickly who is in charge and act accordingly or suffer the consequences!

    I bawled my eyes out the first time he was elected. Because I knew what it meant for the world my young children will be growing up in. I knew what it meant about how people would be empowered to treat other people. Hate and rudeness and willful ignorance is celebrated by Trump and maga. It used to be, at the very least, shameful to speak that way to others publicly. And now there is allowance and no consequences for being mean and rude and preaching dangerous hateful rhetoric. I hope for a world where we can be kind to each other even in the face of differences of opinion. A world where Trump is a leader of any kind will not allow that to happen.

      I think not. Consider all the CIPA issues it would cause. Also, he cannot host dignitaries in prison, nor can he travel to other countries. And so many other duties he flat-out wouldn't be able to perform from behind bars.

      Until now no president acted alike. What about the amendment „ no person can hold office who denied his oath to … the constitution?
      The only solution for this is to vote overwhelmingly blue in order to have a vast majority in both the house and the senate.
      By then decisions can be made to change all the inequalities in voting maps and others.
      No change means the American dream turns into a nightmare.

      Ivan’s reported that when he was born, DJT was upset with her for naming the baby after his father. The reason Trump was upset? “ What if he is a f-- up?”
      True story and an incredibly sad commentary on his attitude toward parenting. It’s always all about his image… even his own baby son. Jr never had a chance to be normal.

But maybe he thought that way because his own older brother, named after their father (Frank) was rejected by Dad because he wanted to be a pilot instead of a real estate grifter. So the son that was named after the father was the "f-- up" in that case. Not that Frank Jr. did anything wrong in becoming a pilot, but Frank Sr. despised him for not being what he wanted him to be and having the temerity to try to follow his own ambitions and interests. Donald was able to cash in on Frank Jr.'s "failure," but he saw how devastating it was to his brother to be disinherited and despised by their autocratic father, and how it ruined his life.

      BS. Thugs don’t like law and order. They rebel when it is applied and do not take responsibility for their actions. They habitually characterize themselves as victims. That does not automatically render a criminal charge as “politically motivated.” Ted Bundy and Charles Manson both had supporters coming to court every day saying the exact same thing.
