Unless you're buying cigars from a govt store in Cuba or very limited select locations in Europe you are not getting a cuban tobacco cigar 99.999999% of the time. Period. End of story.

Correction...The plexi-top boxes were a limited edition Esplendidos humidor. I have 2 of them. (if you would like to see them). Daniel explained most if not all the fancy boxes and limited edition packages are made in China and Cohiba sends the cigars to China for packaging and distribution all over Asia and Europe. Some find their way back to the US. Cuba does not have the ability to make high end boxes, jars, and leather humidors that are sometimes seen on sites for sale.

5:27 That is not a divider. It is called wood paper, and its function is to light it up in fire and get a pure flame without any butane / lighter odor on it! keep it up!

25 years ago Cohiba did make Esplendido's in a box with a plexi-glass top. But not glass, which would break in shipping abroad. My friend Daniel was a roller for Cohiba and H.Upmann for 20 years in Cuba and now owns a cigar store in Oldsmar Florida where you can still watch him roll. FYI. He says the quality control in new Cohiba cigars is horrible. I have Esplendido's with 1994 box date from him.
Fancy hologram bands mean nothing and easily faked in Miami. Look for old dated boxes with circle stamped burned in seals and you are safe, also.. that's when fakes were not even necessary to make. Of Course you can always buy abroad and watch US Customs break your cigars in half.

Now this is great video for anyone. Nothing worse than being handed a "premium cigar" and realize they just handed you a chicken bone

I love your attention to details a great video for
newbies Sounds like you have an English accent, which means you have full access to amazing Cuban cigyes. So don't understand why you are going to buy something other than from a Reputable dealer . I travel to London quite a bit ,and is one of the most expensive places to buy a proper Cubano I'm dutch American an have access to any cigar of choice, I prefer many other cigars over cuban its 2023 and cubans losing steam with guys like me to many better options ,China has driven up the price but once they get taste of Davidoff my father Padron the will quickly convert

The first sign that tell me that these cigars are fake is the fact there is no producition date on the bottom of the box. It should have the month, year and the name of the factory on the bottom of the box.

By far not all of the fake cigars in Cuba are made of cuban tabaco. If you open a fake cigar there could be something inside like bana leafs or whatever and many times there are no longfillers. Take care before buy something from the streets and if you think the prices are much too high for cubans just switch to other countries like Nicaragua.

The most important question is, are you in USA? If yes then 90% its fake. If its asia and high end shop then the chance for that fake is quite low. Example : vietnam (because communist country they are old friend of cuba)

This is why we have EMS in the UK, EMS as a distributer ensure that the cigars are authentic and sourced directly from the factory, also that the cigars are not damaged. this provides the UK buyers assurance of authenticity. all inspected cigar boxes are labeled with an EMS label with the date of inspection before being sent to the retailers for the customers to buy.

Cuban cigars just aren’t worth the hype!
I wouldn’t waste my time or money on them ever again.
I’ve tried so many Cubans now and I’m yet to have a good one.

you're smoking fakes. Over 90% of so called Cuban cigars are fake. real Cuban cigars are incredible. Everyone who has ever brought me Cuba cigars to authenticate have brought me 100% fakes

17:07 The fake cigar look way much nicer than the real one's. Even if it's not a real COHIBA, If bought ONLY in CUBA it is a real cigar and it is not bad at all for the price ($100-$120CDN for a boxe of 25).
