I used to literally have to chase my dog around the house to get a leash on her. A couple months ago I switched to a slip lead and she absolutely loves it. She'll come right and and basically beg me to put the leash on her. Sometimes switching up equipment can have a huge impact.

Okay I have to say this. You'd THINK that it's easy to find slip leads.... NO NO NO NO... It is NOT... I've bought a few that are horrendous. Thank you for giving us some guidance on a good brand!!!!
Check with your local Humane Society or shelters! When my dog got out and went missing I had found him at the humane society (dog pound), & while I had a leash they offered one of their slip leads. Not as great of quality as what DD is using but same effect.

My dad bred Rottweilers my whole life up until my 20's and he used metal prong collars. I tried to tell him it's not necessary. I could train his dogs in one walk to the point of not needing them. To this day I still I get upset with myself that I let that happen. Some of them lived for years with a prong collar on. You know when you are in the shower and have thoughts, or about to go to bed and have thoughts, that's the one thing I think about on a regular basis. It could be prevented.
Stop being a beta. You ever put a prong collar on your own neck or arm and yanked it? It doesn't hurt at all unless ofc you're a little girl. It's a sharp attention grabber, doesn't leave a mark, doesn't draw blood unless of course your dog is retarded and thinks it can overpower or rebel against the collar. My XL had it on and rebelled the first two days and after that he realised what it was and what it stopped him doing. Now he doesn't try and run forward or pull because he knows he will feel an equally weighted jab around his neck...I've never tried a slip and I'm gonna buy one as an alternative but having shower thoughts about something that isn't hurting the dog, I wonder what else haunts you at night lmao
I use an all leather slip lead on my service dog thru security at the airport. I remove her harness, collar. Then she does a "down stay" I go thru first. then She does a "come" to me. But She's free of anything to set the airport security off. And all of her tests have been on a slip lead. You'd love her. She knows her job. And she loves it.
I will get a slip leash as well, now that I know how to use it properly. I have a 1 year old GSD who starts pulling whenever he sees other dogs. I am also very curious about how to teach a dog to recall when someone is holding the leash? My shepherd knows how the recall, but as soon as he feels someone holding him, he stops. Maybe another "How to teach" tutorial? I love watching your tutorials! 😁❤

Unfortunately, by using the wrong leash, I was injured! I have 2 ruptured discs in my neck bc of my dog pulling/jerking. Yes! My leash needs to be paired with the proper training collar for optimal results with dogs that still pull on the leash. If you already have one of my leashes you just pair it with leash masters “slip collar “

I have a normal slip lead for both my jrt and my rottie. No issues walking either of them. Even my young children can walk them.

Slip leads are an essential tool and unfortunately people have been taught by treat trainers that it is evil. It is the best way to communicate effectively with a dog if used properly.
Im sure there is no shortage of people wanting to be trained by you to do this- however, I would still like to inquire if this may be possible- I feel I am suited for this,I dont think its easy, I would like to be considered for this training if at all possible because I love animals & have a natural connection with them- thank you

How do you train behavior that only occurs when you're not there? For example a very quiet dog who only barks when we are gone (and disrupts the neighbor. ) I can never catch him in the behavior because the minute he sees me he gets quiet and happy

Any advice I just got a pure breed German Shepherd 3 yrs old shes a lovely dog but I also have a 4 month old part bulldog/ poodle... The German Shepherd keeps taking the babies toys and its really upsetting him she's a bit of a bully that way ? Any advice would be much appreciated ❤

How strong are they? I have a 110lbs bandogge mastiff, he's not normally pulling a lot but I wonder if this would hold if he pulled as hard as he can (and believe me, this guy can pull like a freight train if he wants).

Well great .. Did you fix the under laying issues. No, because when you see them switch to a normal collar or harnass they are helpless as they were before.

Knowing how to use a leash and being competent in using the leash is far more important than the type of leash! In an emergency you can actually use a belt if needed!
I use a slip lead all the time. The minute we get to the lake, nothing stops my lab! He pulls and chokes himself, gagging. I stop him, get in front of him and correct him, but the second I begin to move, he's back to pulling with incredible force. I can't stand the idea of him gagging and choking? HELP!!

Genuine question, do slip leads choke the dogs? How does that work?
If they pull and or jump, yes they do chocke the dog.
Even serious risk of damaging the dogs throat, thyroid etc.
All this can be done with a normal collar or harnass.
Also it doesnt "fix" the issue. Out of discomfort some dogs will stop pulling. Its not fixing the problem itself, the behaviour, the emotion or experience.
When people think wow my dog is doing great now and they want to switch to a normal collar or harness they are as helpless as they were before.
Sadly to see this happens too much still.
If ur a prof, u wouldnt even need one.
