VW's BEST Kept Secret! | '23 VW Arteon SEL Premium R-Line

  • The 2023 VW Arteon is essentially an Audi with VW badges on it. Everything from its build quality (built in Germany) to its driving dynamics resemble that of an Audi A5 rather than another VW product. It has Audi level features at a lower price point. Further, the Arteon provides more power than the equivalent A4 or A5 does! Therefore, this is Volkswagen's best kept secret!

    I got a 22 SEL non premium R-Line a few months ago. to replace myt14 CC that was totaled.. Your review is fair and spot on! They are a fantastic vehicle but I don't think at the as "new" price point.. The one I got had 4K for mileage and the as new window sticker was 48k and has everything but the rear heated seats, 360 camera, and powered trunk. At that price point new there are so many other options to look at.......But on the used market I got mine again with 4k miles for 37k before down payment and that price you get SUV level of space and cargo, a good deal of power, and a great deal of of luxury! Bur you certainly want the 22MY and up for the added power and DSG.
    You were very thorough and factual with your review! Keep up the good work!

    Nice video dude! I have been a fan of the Arteon since it first came, and was looking for a full and in-depth review of the most recent model year for the vehicle.
    Sad to these go after 2024 though, seems like an outstanding product offering for a SUV/Sedan shopper.

    I purchased a 22 SEL R line in early 2023. Love the car. People remark how beautiful it is. The hatch trunk is enormous. No regrets at all. Beware, low profile tires are prone to blow outs from pot holes. Get the tire insurance.

      I have a 21, and I love it. I think it's the tires. I have had 3 blowouts and researched a lot of tires. I brought Giovanni tires. 4 for under 400.00. No drop off in handling, been on car for year. Will buy a 23 soon and not waiting for potholes. New tires, too. Go to Walmart or Priority tires sites

      You are correct! I was going off of older information as these switched from an 8-Speed Automatic to a 7-Speed DSG Starting with 2022 Model year cars. Compared to a 2019 that I drove prior, this one had the low-speed lurches that were to be expected of a DSG. Thank you!

    Bought the 23 SEL premium r line with only 40 miles on it. Retail is 52 but I bought it in 2024 so it was on sale for 46 . Pretty damn awesome I love the car can't think of a single complaint. Especially enjoying the Harmon kardon sound system, has a sub woofer in the center of the spare tire which is another awesome thing, it has a full size matching rim and tire. Lots of vehicles don't even have spare wheels at all 😊

      I was skeptical of everyones complaints about the haptic buttons on the steering wheel. Ive had my arteon for 3 months now, and I havent had any issues with them. They function exactly like regular buttons. U cant “accidentally activate the buttons” either, u have to press them as much as a normal button. In comparison my sisters Tiguan has the normal buttons and I personally hated them, they felt very cheap, and they are way more susceptible to wearing away after time.

      @@FaZeTartpack People just love finding reasons to complain. I love them and find them way nicer looking than the regular push buttons in older VWs.

    • @FaZeTartpack
      @FaZeTartpack Před měsícem

      @@Jenny_Thalia yeah I love the modern look of them, especially how they sit flush to the wheel. On my sisters 2022 tiguan I feel like the normal physical buttons look pretty dated and tacky now.
      I also found the haptic buttons to be more comfortable and easy to use honestly. You can hit them anywhere, along the edge, right in the middle, etc. and itll always give you the same feedback

    Very good detailed review. I am considering this. Can you please give your opinion of the Harmon Kardon sound system here? As an audiophile, this would be my only reason to go for SEL Prem otherwise mid SEL R is doable. Many owners of the '24 Atlas SEL Prem R are disappointed by the Harmon Kardon sound in it. Thanks.

    Really comprehensive review...nicely done. Now I'll know more than the dealer when I go to see one. 2023 is the last model year -- it was 2024 but VW updated and said '23s are the last. Hoping to haggle a decent price.

    My father still is holding onto his 2013 CC that is eclipsing 150,000 miles at this point. He's put money into it with timing chain tensioner replacement and carbon cleaning but largely the car has been trouble free. As much as the CC is a relic from a bygone era of well assembled Passats, I really want him to trade up to the Arteon before this too is put to pasture.

    Yeah, this car looks very good to me, 11/10 design with no flaws, good potential for some tuning, so its very very weird that they stop the production of it, is it only to fulfill the "emission" demands that make no sense at all?
