The last sentence by the judge was amazing. " If it werent for u a husband wud still have his wife and son wud still have his mother" . I never seen a more remorseless entitled piece of shit in my life. She has no understanding of what she has done and intentionally refuses to accept her responsibility regarding this matter.
I dont believe she purposely put a live round in the gun but she seems to have no understanding of her neglence having caused the loss of Helana's life

Hannah's statement was so narcissistic. She doesn't think she did anything wrong. She was handling weapons brought live ammo on set and was doing drugs on set. She has no remorse for the life that was lost due in part to her neglegence. Her attitude towards the whole thing is that this was just a mistake she shouldn't have to pay for. She never even mentions Helana by name in her statement or holds herself accountable for what happened. Her statement probably hurt her more than anything
Her sentencing submission was just as bad, too!
"It's the court's fault HG couldn't express sympathy to the family."

This case is more like, 22 year old Susie agrees to babysit for Mike age 13 and Sally age 3. Sally needs milk but Susie is kind of drunk and stoned and doesn’t want to do her job so she gives Mike the keys to the car and says “Go get Sally some milk, here is $10”. Mike is ecstatic. Mike is 13 tho so you know, can’t drive. He has watched his dad, kind of. Mike pulls out of the driveway and revs the engine. He gets the speed up, hits 3 people and kills them. Susie is arrested for involuntary homicide. Her lack of good decision making caused the deaths. She was responsible. She was the one paid to watch the kids. These deaths are on her. Mike might be in some trouble in some states too.
Gutierrez-Reed was using drugs. She took a picture of herself at the armorer table with live rounds on the table. She could not reel in Baldwin (if you can’t do your job, walk away…..if you are trying to do your job but don’t have support in the safety of the job, walk away). She did neither. She told off another crew member who gave her some direction. She was a selfish entitled spoiled brat and frankly, 18 months is not even remotely long enough but it’s NM…..so, that’s all you get. Bet she regrets not taking that plea deal now.

I showed my daughyer the screenshot of the box of ammo. I asked if any bullets seemed different. She found the three live ones with a colored dot on the back. I asked how she thought they were different...she said "maybe those are real ones? Maybe the dot is a warning?" She knows nothing about guns. She has no education in armory. It was just logical thinking and she's only 12. There's NO WAY the armorer didn't know those were real bullets!

I have read so many comments about blaming Alec Baldwin etc. I understand him being held partially responsible. But this was HER job. Her primary job. It was like a poison taster bringing poison, pouring it out into various unmarked cups then blaming others when it gets drunk by others.
She brought live ammunition because the manufacturer of dummy rounds was running low so she thought she could make up the difference by making her own! Crazy and now a beautiful young mother is dead.

When you're in a county jail you can only do one year maximum one day over you have to go to prison but you guarantee she only does about 12 to 13 months anyway in prison time when she lands down on prison grounds she'll get paroled out and do the rest on parole

I also think the vendor and property manager were responsible for the live ammo getting on set. It was beyond obvious that the property manager, the vendor and the assistant director lied on the stand, and that the state knew about it.
In practice, there are many circumstances when armorers can't and don't shake every round while they are loading them. There may be wind that they can't hear over. There may be inadequate time. Most of them do all this ahead of time and then secure the ammo from other individuals with a proper cart that is designed for this purpose and that has locking drawers. The Rust production refused to buy this. And they insisted that untrained people be involved in handling the guns and ammo. One of the most disturbing things the state covered up was revealed in multiple interviews with witnesses who said it was not Sarah Zachary who had the accidental discharge when loading the blank. It was her 19-year-old assistant, and she injured her foot when this happened. The 19-year-old was not authorized to be handing the weapon at all. The only reason that Sarah Zachary was authorized to handle weapons is that ATF has a rule that allows this if she is employed one hour a week by a licensed armorer, Seth Kenney. Everyone knows that Seth Kenny returned from Texas with that green cannister full of live rounds that had been manually loaded in Starline Brass casings. I believe that Sarah and her assistant were in trouble with Hannah for discarding valuable dummies, and that they attempted to replace them with live rounds they mistook for dummies. I also think it is likely Seth instructed them to discard dummies so that he could sell the production more. It is really sad that there was an opportunity to prevent this from happening again and the state totally missed what happened. That prosecutor and judge are incompetent bigots.
That's a good breakdown of what really happened. It's absolutely horrible that it even occurred. The fact that they didn't even try to secure weapons ams ammo on that set is baffling. They could have spent the money to properly do that. They chose not to. Now a woman is dead and a man almost died that day. A little boy now doesn't have his mother because of careless people.

I dont think accidents warrant prison or jail. Its sad yes but i would bet anything she did not mean to let that happen.
When an accident is caused due to the negligence of someone, then yes prison time is needed. If your actions cause the death of another person, then you should be punished.
