Just subscribed! Jay is completely correct I couldn't have said it better. Everyone is moaning now about Marchand being out of the line up and the Bruins losing, but this situation keeps happening league and it doesn't matter what team you are for- no one is doing anything to defend ANYBODY anymore. By cutting down on the aggressive physical element and NHL tough guys more players are getting hurt and I am not alone in being alienated from the sport we love. Sorry to have to be this harsh, but here it is- TO GO FORWARD THE LEAGUE MUST GO BACK. EITHER YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR TEAMMATES OR YOU AREN'T GOOD.

BTW,,you can be tough during the regular season, with tough players, but until your star players become warriors in the playoffs you will go nowhere. The best and smartest move would be for the Leafs to trade Marner at the deadline and get some MEN on the team. Keep Nylander. Marner is the ultimate soft,,,fancy player during the regular season, but is worthless in the playoffs. Trade him for a warrior. You can’t trade Matthews because he is an offensive threat,,,but bring someone in who can teach him to be a warrior.

3 things needed to happen .
1.all 4 guys needed to jump Marchand regardless of whos on the Ice .
2.Reeves next shift needed to be when Marchand is on the Ice and he takes a run at the Goaltender never slowdown and try and break his neck and then turn and grab Marchand if the rat hasnt skattered away .
3.anyone on next play goes into the corner with Pasternak and gives him a "6inch" in the ribs or a clear cross check to the face .
