T7 Asturias - These Spanish Boats Seem Strong

- Having a burst gimmick at T7 seems kinda nutty to me, but first impressions of the Asturias is that it's very strong, high HP, speed, heal, torps and burst makes for a pretty crazy package.

It's a faster Zara with HE, burst, heals, hydro, better AA and better ASW. It gets all that only for worse turning and lack of smoke.

@@wombat4191 SAP is occasionally better than HE: broadside dds being the most obvious. Overall it's worse because if you don't have broadsides to shoot at you are completely useless. HE is overall better because fires.

our two main weapon are AP and Burst mode, and gyroscop torpedeo... our three main weapons aer AP, burst fire, gyro torp and heal...

The T9 does some filthy burst damage, and the shells behave pretty nicely, too.
Overall I htink the spanish line has really decent guns and shells with good speed, arcs and pen. Really looking forward to the T10 where the caliber goes up another notch.
And the T9 get 234mm, essentially improved Goliath guns that have decent shell velocity and pen....
The french gimmick is totally powercreeped by this. Reload booster is limited, this is not. Incredible in low tier.
Reload booster gives you the opportunity to fire 3 salvos at least, also french HE much more better than spanish HE. All the french cruisers have more range than spanish ones when you match the tiers. Also ships has speed booster because they are french, this means they are faster. French armor is better on cruisers because it’s trolly, you know the fact that troller the better when it comes to armor in most situations. Spanish cruisers has gigantic citadels as well.
I wouldnt call T7, which is the point at which you get the burst fire mode, low tier.
As a T7, youre facing T9 very often, I think all things considered it makes sense.

Yes! I want that since years. All Cruisers from T5-T8 need at least two heals. Some exceptions like T7 Belfast and Kutusov aside of course.
@@gothia1715 no, they are not in need of anything. Imagine how good cruisers königsberg and nürnberg are without any healing capability than think again. French line has speed and trolly armor, italian line has speed, maneurability and smokes, russian cruiser line has long range gimmick at lower tiers. Maybe just the americans need heals because tier 6-7-8 american ships are hard to play except for cleveland. They are suffering from lacking of heal and armor when it comes to surviving. All the other ships can do other useful things such as keeping the distance to use good gun range or the ship’s maneurability or just smoking up to disengage.

Legit, one of my favourite tier 7s right now. Looking forward to the rest of the line. The burst mode lets you punish broadsides nicely, or get those fires.
Guns feel great too.
Managed to get the tier 8 Cataluna for free and its a treat, really enjoy it, played Castilla and the tier 9 on the PTS too, the tier 9 was solid but castilla was great.
Its good, really good. I still like Zara a tad better though. The whole Spanish line has been a really fun grind thus far, but I'm only 63k XP into the Andalucía so not done yet.
Man it shoots some spicy AP shells as well

Only thing i noticed is Royal Navy BB he constantly knocks out rudders and engines which if you damage cntrl that damage and get smacked again its along time slowly moving , thinking of actually putting last stand on the T7
do you have seen the armor on the tier 2 and 3 on these spanish cruisers?
Also looking forward to seeing how the T8 functions nuked some T9 cruisers yesterday in the T7.

Tier 8 - Cataluna is even better - 13 (12 sec ) sec reload - 9 guns x 203 (similar to the Amalfi, but with shorter reload time) , 36.5 knots speed, hydro, fighter plane, burst option, repair party, heal , HE shells - but - same huge citadel as Amalfi (other Cataluna can oneshot you with 6 forward guns with Devastating Strike) , no smoke and huge turning circle.
the HE damage is aenemic though
Got the T7 and T8, they are pretty fun ships, on total opposite to the JP CL early access event where the free ships were trash.
Power creep doesn't exist btw. :)
They're still largely trash imo. Fun, but almost 0 impact. But that is a large issue with most CL's in Warships.
Random fact, Asturias is a Spanish province,and also my natal province. Its cool to read the place where you are from ingame.
Having heals on low tier cruisers should be a standard not a benefit or gimmick in new additions

As for tier 10
AA is rather standard for what it usually is ( Well, AA is a joke anyway ). Protection wise this ship covered in 30mm and quite a lot of torpedo protection space armor. The 30mm overmatch will decimate it but punishing broadside is not that much
Trash tier HE, no gimmick AP, shittiest tier 7 cruiser surface + air concealment, shit handling, huge unarmored target.
Alright, we got Heal, Torps, Hydro, Spotter Plane, Plane ASW AND Burst Gimmick at T7 here cause new line. Seems completely fair.
Just recently played the Zara which i liked. But it seems to be absolutely dogshit compared to this monster.

So far I enjoy the Spanish cruiser line, the castilla is quite an solid tier 10! However the downsides on average of the line I would say are the ships are big and the citadel is easy to hit. For the rest they got good guns, the reload is fair and burst fire can be a neat gimmick (but don't fully depend on it)

Uf, the commander voice sounds latin american spanish instead of spanish from Spain.
Because WG is using the same voiceover as the latin american ships, if its because they're lazy or because they wont get their own VO until they release who knows.

Yeah this ship is pretty busted. The only slightly bad thing is the small gap between gun range and detection, and you get a spotter to cover that.
Giving burst to normal ships was a mistake (well, giving it to superships was a mistake as well), though most players won't get as frequent devstrike opportunities as Flolo got in this game.
The biggest problem on the Spanish ship is their air concealment and how bad these ships against the overmatch, especially in higher tier. The he performance is struggling when dealing the charging bb.
If you have to rely on HE, then you arent positioning correctly.
Imagine playing the yorck, new orleans and myoko when this thing exists in current year. Why does it have a heal even? Its like when the british dds came out rendering the german dds obsolete and everyone wondering why did they have heals

How many recent cruiser lines have started getting a heal earlier than T9 (which has previously been the standard)?
Spanish, yes.
Pan-American, yes.
IJN CL, no. (lol)
French CB, yes.
Pan-Asian, yes.
Dutch, yes.
The only ones that have any precedence indicating they should get a heal on earlier tiers are Pan-Am and French CB, because superheal cruiser lines be previously gained low tier heals as well, and because supercruisers tend to have a heal regardless of tier (Graf Spee and Congress for example). The only one, disregarding those two mentioned, to have a clear downside to justify the heal is Haarlem, which gets long fires and threrfore dips her toes in the supercruiser territory.
So is heal starting at T8 or even earlier the new standard? And old lines are left out of course.
Edit: Except that soon WG will realize soviet CA's were the newest line to be left out of this trend, so they will give Tallinn a heal "to bring her in line with other similar ships of her tier".
PA cruisers weren't released with heals at T8, but the Harbin was so prone to blowing up that they have her one in an update.
"Superlight" cruisers need heals at higher tiers.
Its not good, but its not bad either. Very average. The maneuverability is a bit sluggish though but not bad as the british heavy cruisers and the DPM feels weak. Hydro and torps are nice

tier 7 : very strong
tier 8: angle that armor or you're dev struck, same guns, not great (25mm nose for all upper tiers & this is meh)
tier 9 & 10: probably better due to higher caliber, velocity & side armor

They’re fine. Good guns. Huge citadel. Sluggish handling. They seem better than they are in this video because of broadside potatoes. Should be a decent line but not even close to broken

WG have never ever cared about balance in any of their games, and it's why they are universally considered trash.
Jesus, you have been playing for years in this game. You could have already figured out that the vehicles are out of balance on purpose, so the players would buy and level them up. In 2-3 months, as always, a patch with balance fixes will be delivered and it will be an ordinary ship among dozens of the same.
Don't attempt to find any logic in this game. If there was any logic, overpens on a sub would cause a flood if it submerged.
I think everyone is dead wrong about this ship. It is absolutely terrible. Don't pay attention to what is on paper. You eat cits no matter how you angle. The dispersion is awful, making the AP penetration pointless. Range makes it unplayable when you uptier and unlike Zara, it can't disengage at will. Fire chance is too low for this kind of dispersion too.
