More evidence Ebike is the one bike to have.
Orbea's idea is actually really good because once the batteries are gone the E bike is pretty much useless without that custom BB so instead of spending a ridiculously amount on a new battery for your 5 - 10 year old EMTB you can put a new BB can use it like a normal bike not to mention all that in frame storage
With the new Orbea Rise getting the bump in travel a large percentage of owners were doing to previous generations, I think Orbea need to distance the full power Wild fs from the Rise and increase travel to 180mm front and 170mm rear bringing it in line with brands like Pole, Specialized, Whyte and Mondraker. They could have been testing a longer suspension platform, just minus a motor to see how the travel effects momentum downhill.
The only bike full powered emtb you can run without the battery and motor(without heavy mods) is the Rocky Mountain Powerplay because it is built around a normal BB.
Top notch you two,thankyou.
Thanks for watching :)
I put 25,000 km on my Powerfly that, includes 5 DUs among many other upgrades and services
I am now onto a new frame with DU #5 being transplanted...
around 15 000 km in the past 3 years :) on two bikes, counting 3 motors (Bosch CX 4th gen). Interestingly, the motor in the "winter abuse" bike is holding up much better than the fun one.
Wonder who's Granny stitched the neoprene together for the wild 😂
My Transition Relay is designed to run without the battery with Fazua Ride 60 motor
Did 12,000 miles in 18 months during covid. Specialized levo hard tail. Went through some chain's, cassettes and stuff .
Sounds like a good way to kill the time!
👍I guess that the "hidden engine" is in fact a linkage system Orbea does not want to show, just like Specialized's new Aluminium/Carbon pipe Downhill bik🤔😁
When is Doody going to lend you a Mondraker Dune to test....😊
Really interested in that bike as my next ebike 👍🤛
Arthur
@EMBN would it be financially sustainable for companies like Orbea for example since they were the first to come up with this idea to build one frame for both it's MTBs and EMTBs with the only difference being BB and Huge Storage for the MTB instead of the motor and batteries ?
3000 euros gets a pretty ok Rockrider.....got a non electric am100 and took it downhill in Pyrenees no oroblem ..
I ride my trek fazua bike without the motor and battery a lot. No issues
11.000 km in 3j with the Levo ...
These cheaper e-bikes are a similar price to a Honda CRF300 motorcycle. Kerching.
Why compare them? A fishing boat can be 50k, who cares.
Crf300 is trash in quality and design vs a budget emtb.
-budget full suspension bike is 2-4k
-budget emtb is 3.5-6k
-stock 450 10k
Emtb is still the best value imo 🤷🏼♂️
@@carterschichtel9678 I disagree. That Honda is built for the mid price market but it isn't trash. It's reliable, has longevity, is repairable and is capable for world travel adventure. E-bikes are still struggling with longevity and ability to repair/replace the motors and batteries. The e-MTB industry still has an early adopter problem. My opinion is the cost-per-hour of riding over the life of the product is still too high on e-MTBs.
When shopping for something It seems silly to compare the prices to a completely different product.
My emtb costed the same as my ktm and I ride my emtb 100x more due to accessibility and fun factor of the trails close by.
If I wanted a cheap bike to commute and do some light trail riding in between a crf would make sense.
11,000 km with Shimano e8000
Is there a reason why you guys do not test BH bikes?
None whatsoever! Just a case of so many bikes so little time!
title not compute! top spec and affordable price cant be in same sentence
To be fair .... there is a question and exclamation mark at the end of the title.
Know when to buy, what you want, and strike. These bikes are nearly half off in certain shops, right now
The decathlon bike looks like it'll break in half when I sneeze at it.
Bimodal make a quick release ebike motor
We'll have to take a peek
@@embn sorry, typo - it's Bimotal.
4,000km on turbo levo
9k for aa bike!??! Are they mad?
Neils mam been combing his hair?
Non drive side Rich won't be happy Nice lol, never liked the tangerine orange Hope do, the shades of it's not nice
I can't believe that Specialized is going with that design , it's literally the worst of the bonded designs by a long shot.
5, 6 grand ain't affordable for us working class Joes. Maybe for a Musk or a Jobs...
Totally agree. Can't get my head around these prices at all. My wife thinks a bike at £1k is complete madness, hence I ended up building 2 e-bikes myself for £1100 using used bikes and bafang mid drive kits.
That new decathlon ebike is well ugly
