Thanks for showing not only a vlog but landscape and plant images of our beautifull state.

These are great videos. What a hike! Wading through all that water in Florida I'd be constantly terrified of alligators.

I was considering the Florida Trail, but seeing all the swamp hiking, I have decided that it is NOT for me. Thanks for the vids.

Some years it's dry, some years it's wet. Been through Big Cypress and barely got my shoes wet, a year later thought I'd have to swim through Black Lagoon.

Oh my gosh. I have heard of the Florida trail, but had no idea it would be a water-covered jungle. You must have hiked most of 2016. I watched a lot of the AT videos so wanted to see some of the other ones.

Chris, I love your videos. You are such a nice person, always smiling no matter what the conditions are. I live in Florida but in Sarasota County and I think in one of the prettiest parts of Florida. I hike everyday because I live near the Myakka River and most of the land along the river is protected wilderness. I saw a group of wild piglets the other day. One thing I can't seem to figure out, what shoes to buy. Could you tell me exactly the shoes you wore for FL conditions, including wading through water, prickly plants, sand, etc? Thank you! When you come back to FL please come to this side, I know all the good places :-)

+Leontine Vandermeer Thanks for watching. I hiked the Florida Trail in Salomon XA Pro Mid GTXs. I think a better choice is something that dries quicker like Altra Lone Peak 3.0s, which is what I wore on the Arizona Trail. Myakka is a great place. I've been to the state park.

Anxiously awaiting future insatllmaents...not very many FT videos compared to AT. Too bad this January one of the wettest ever in FL. Please give some insight about wading/hiking tips. Trail name so far should be "Slosh". :)
Push on !! Good luck !!

Going to hike the trail from Kissimmee lake to Okeechobee Lake later on in Feb, did you get water from the river and filter it to drink?
