I like how Super Saiyan 4 is being compared to Orange Piccolo as both as forms which draw out the full natural potential from their user with Goku using the power of the Great Ape and Piccolo using the power of Shenron
Judging by the symbol on the back I am gonna assume Goku actually wishes for a new from from Shenron directly instead of asking about the legend of SSJG, which results in Shenron granting him SSJ4 - basically a Potential Unleashed form of a saiyan.

Yeah really, damn this was genius. I'd love an expansion on this lore for other powerups and transformations. Like maybe Freeza somehow tapped into this power to for his "golden" form.
You connected Budokai 3’s secret cutscene into ssj4 in a what-if. Man, you’re a GENIUS.

I kinda like the idea that orange piccolo form and ssj4 are are able to be obtained in a somewhat similar way cause they seem to be similar in a narrative standpoint of just being beyond the full potential of their own respective race
I'm not sure how wishing to unlock your power and having your tail pulled out, then staring at a moon like object and already having the forms to unlock SS4 are similar .
Maybe similar in a sense where they would of lost without those new forms.
That's like saying Cell and Buus absorption abilities work the same

In GT, Kakarot needed the help of Pan to gain control of his golden Oozaru form to become a SSJ4.
Guess Shenron replaced Pan in this equation here.
@@SlightlyShoobieSuper Saiyan 4 is obtained when the golden ozaru regains the sense of itself and has a pure heart. In GT, Goku regained his consciousness with the help of Pan, who reminded him who he was. Since he has a pure heart, he gained the SS4 transformation.
I think Shenlong did the same here.

I love how you connected Shenron giving Piccolo a little bit extra to Goku this way. It actually could make sense with this happening in the original story.

@@LavaCreeperPeople he's weaker, yes. But you do have to remember SSJ God is also leagues weaker than Beerus yet he still spared him anyway. As long as Beerus saw potential in Goku then the fight may end more or less the same than in BoG.
Plus iirc in Super Hero, Shenron gave Piccolo a huge boost in power, so who knows? Maybe this Shenron Powered SSJ4 Goku is stronger than just "DBS Goku magically having SSJ4".

I love how Shenron helped Goku control his golden ape form and attain SSJ4 as a reference to DBS Super Hero where Piccolo became Orange. Tying this also to the Namekians' gratitude for Goku saving them was also brilliant

I like how the Super Saiyan 4 concept was constructed in a similar way to Orange Piccolo concept, with Dragon Balls playing an important role.
And honestly unlike “a little extra” bullshit they actually made a point to why Shenron went out his way to help goku all the way to get ssj4

5:15 I LOVE the minimalist transition from 3 to 4 here. I think it perfectly represents the nature of SSJ4 as it is the taming and mastering of the Oozaru. Amazing work as always 👏.
I really love how you changed things up in this narrative to combine elements from Super Hero. The way Goku wasted the wish was funny but you also managed to bring that joke back around to power him up in the same exact way that Piccolo did in the movie and it was brilliant. I always love your what-ifs for the kind of writing you put in them like this

Honestly, call it nostalgia or whoever but I’ve always loved SSJ4 more then God and Blue. The natural extension of the Great Ape power and SSJ has always appealed to me more then “I have become a God.” I hope they bring back SSJ4 in someway, even if it is outclassed by God.
Because Super Saiyan 4 is natural. Super Saiyan God and Blue had to be attained in an unnatural process. That’s why we are fans of SSJ4 more. But I can never stop loving SSJB
Honestly, they should just give SSJ4 to broly, he already has his "Oozaru" stage where he uses the power of the great ape while keeping his normal body so just say he combines that state with his SSJ form and BOOM ssj4!

God was gained in an “unnatural” way thanks to the ritual, which was the entire point of the ritual. Though Vegeta unlocks SSG the same was he unlocks Blue, training.
@@IHateThisCommunity That’s correct, but I was not implying that. Saiyans were never supposed to attain godhood in the first place. Now that Goku and Vegeta are in that state, their constant flow of natural transformations has been taken off-track. That’s what I’m trying to say. Yes, Super Saiyan Blue was attained the same way all the other natural forms were attained, but the only difference is that SSJB, compared to the mortal transformations (which are natural to the Saiyan lineage), is a very unnatural transformation, the same as SSJG. It doesn’t matter that SSJB was achieved in a natural process of training, the form itself and SSJG should have never been known and used in the first place

The music, the big map, the graphics for the location and the specific location in the map where Goku goes, this is all a big reference to Budokai 3's event in which Goku randomly moves around through those islands and becomes a Super Saiyan 4, ain't it?

In Budokai 3, near the end of the Goku campaign, there's a point on the map you can travel to. Goku starts undergoing massive pain, feeling like his head was splitting apart, and even saying goodbye to his family because he thought this pain would kill him.
However, he comes out of it with the Super Saiyan 4 transformation.
I swear even when I'm feeling sad, stressed or just down in general when I see this man upload it makes me feel a rush of happiness. He's the goat of dragon ball what if animations
I remember seeing the original years ago. I love the lore and story you've built behind it. 11/10 writing as always! You always know how to make the fights that much more impactful!
That was probably the best Super Saiyan 4 transformation aside from its debut. That was SO unique and incredible to watch. The way his Green eyes turned into Gold was so smart!!! I hope he trained during the bit of time he had left

Well Beerus did say 3 days, and I can definitely see Goku use the Hyperbolic Time Chamber on the second day, but whenever he went there alone or with someone (most likely Vegeta or Piccolo) is up in the air, but regardless he’d be definitely stronger than before.
This video makes so much sense about Goku accidentally asking Shenron to not only give him his tail back but its "extra" bonus for helping Goku turn into a SSJ4 than the Budokai 3's "???" scene where Goku turning into a SSJ4 that didn't make sense to me since he didn't have a tail in DBZ. Hyourinjustu did a great job on this "What If" remake story, as always.

I love how heavily inspired this is from Budokai 3. The map, the ??? scroll, even some of the dialouge is taken straight from the event in Budokai 3 where you unlock SSJ4 for Goku. Awesome What-If.

Yo that was SICK! We need SSJ4 in Super someday. I have always viewed it as the ultimate Saiyan form.
The way you set the story up was amazing, a callback to a previous video, but also a callback to how Goku helped the Namekians and including a way for them to repay a debt in such a way that helps Goku out past granting the Earthlings a new Guardian (Dende). It was even played out perfectly, so as to end it and keep people wanting more! I can see so many comments asking for a fight! Your fans would love to see that, but I'm sure you've already got so much planned! I do hope a SSJ4 vs GoD Beerus fight is one of your planned events but your content is so amazing i doubt it matters what vids you make, I'll enjoy them regardless!

This is a perfect remake. As well as redoing the animation you have added a new narrative structure that would've explained the originals happenings with newly introduced official lore. If I'm right with what you were going for was that when Goku fought Frieza, Guru made a promise to pay Goku back for defending his people and made Goku an honorary Namekian. The Dragon Balls were originally made to be collected by pure and brave warriors in times of great peril or suffering and reward them the power they needed. So in this timeline, Goku's wish for fighting Beerus with his own power and Gurus spiritually enduring promise to repaying the Namekians debt to Goku coincided with all the Dragon Balls (and therefore Shenron's) original purpose of aiding warriors in peril, which allowed Shenron to grant Goku the access and control over his golden oozaru transformation, which is required for attaining Super Saiyan 4, while also unlocking his potential like how he did for Piccolo despite Dende not altering Shenron to grant him the power to unlock the potential of others. Making this Super Saiyan 4 form WAY more powerful than normal. Which is why Goku could theoretically surpass Battle of Gods Beerus. (Though I don't think he could beat Beerus if Beerus was actually somewhat trying to win.)

Seeing a hint of Budokai 3 inspiration gave me a bit of goosebumps. I still remember the days of replaying every story, trying to find all the new unlocked story paths and endings, like Yamcha beating Vegeta after the cell games (Which is technically canon, since it's a weaker, disheartened Vegeta.)
Honestly, even if it was just a homage to one of the earlier animations, this was amazing. 👍

This is legitimate on how possible is Super to go similar route as GT, but with some what logical (as logical as the series can)

I really hope you'll one day consider doing the actual fight. I'm sure many would agree with me when I say you really manage to bring out the best in these What If Fights. A real ssj4 Goku vs Beerus done in your style would be so exciting to see, some day.
The greatest thing about Hyourijnjutau is of course the fight he animate but aside that, the story he makes definitely deserves attention. All other CZcamsrs makes a What If DB video for the sake of… well ‘video’ but in Hyourinjutsu’s case, he make an entirely new universe for the sake of his ‘What Ifs’ video.

2. Amazing sprite animations, as expected from an expert several years in the making
3. Love that Goku gets his "little extra" in the form of SS4.
4. I know there won't be a fight, but I can't help but realize that SS4 Goku might perform a bit worse than he did originally as SSG in BoG. Still, this is a smarter Goku who actually took his training (and himself) a bit more seriously, so the extra experience would definitely help.

Nah, unlike Piccolo, who wished *specifically* to have his potential unlocked, Goku only inadvertently wished for his tail back.
This was awesome narratively, and although a part of me wishes we got to see more, I can't deny this was amazing as it is, bravo Hyourinjutsu I look forward to your future projects
Real talk I like the inclusion to your lore version of Super Saiyan 4. Personally I always thought it should be introduced in Super's canon as it was at least to me my favorite form. Whether it'd serve as an alternative form for minor Saiyan characters like Goten and Trunks to get something unique or for Divine Ki to remain a collective effort like in BoG's but that Goku and Vegeta unlock 4 as there answer against Divine Ki instead.

Not gonna lie. I REALLY wanted to see how this fight would've played out. Regardless of whether or not Goku won. Seeing SSJ4 taking on a God of Destruction would've been epic and creative to watch, no doubt. Still, love the video all the same.
Its raw but realistically he would be still weaker than Vegito who was suggested too Goku in BOG even as a Super Saiyan 3 Vegito would’ve gotten hammered by Beerus and that there would be astronomical stronger than SS4 Goku especially during that period of time

WOW! Talk about creative and crazy! Super Saiyan 4 buffed by the power of Namekian pride; truly an awesome combo. With this power-up, I’d say SSJ4 Goku here would be relative to or above SSJ God in raw power. If this becomes a full mini-movie in the future, we could see Goku combined godly ki with SSJ4 here and get something like Wrathful God, also buffed by Namekian pride. Good on you for remastering this what-if, Hyourinjutsu!

As soon as I saw the teaser implying it would work like Orange Piccolo, I had a theory it would only give him his tail at first and the “little something extra” would be SSJ4.
Also I loved how you tied it into how he got SSJ4 in the budokai 3 story mode.

That symbol being on Goku's back is a bit strange. It represents the Ajisa Trees found on Planet Namek, so it should pretty much only belong to Piccolo
