So there it is. After an entire year, it's finally out. I poured my heart and soul into this piece, it's basically the longest, most story-driven animation I've ever done!

@@jedy5658 for example goku managed to fight a shadow dragon blind I'm guessing the longer the fight goes the stronger the form gets and the form makes the user adapt to everything so if fought a destroyer for a long time it could learn and grow eventually winning or losing depending on how much power the destroyer is using
The idea of relying on mastering the power you have rather than chasing transformations makes so much sense for GT Goku. His base form could contend with SSJ2 Super Goku and he made it his business to only transform when necessary, I also loved the emphasis on him being a veteran who learned how to fight more tactfully. Very cool take on GT Goku.

It makes sense too. This is the same GT Goku who pretended to still be blind, so that he could catch Omega Shenron off-guard and land a killing blow with a full-powered Dragon Fist (which would have worked if OS couldn't regenerate).

I love the connection you made between SS4 Gogeta having red hair and it possibly being a SS God form because he technically had the power of 5 other Saiyans (the 5th being a straight up fusion). That's awesome. World class retcon.

this gt goku is incredibly powerful in normal base, not near as toppo of course, not even ultimate gohan, but that's it. and ssj4 for his stamina drain is very powerful

GT Goku grew to become a tactical combatant because of experience and circumstances.
He understood the major drain it took to fight in heightened forms for too long (his battle with Kid Buu proved that theory well), so he worked to improve his "Base Form" in order to make his other forms even stronger.
And plus, during the Shadow Dragons Saga, Goku basically a majority of his stamina due to being forced back into the body of a child. He had the power, but his vessel (his body) could not handle it, as such he had to learn to rely on his wits even more so than ever before, to catch an enemy off guard and land a definite, killing blow.
He's the victor because he understood his situation and fought to survive, not to just enjoy himself.
Xeno Vegito even said that Xeno Goku had long since overgrown most of his love for battle and took his duties much more seriously.
He would still lose in actuality because manga Super Goku is just as experienced as GT Goku and his base would be more than enough to handle SSJ4

I feel like super could really improve on the design of SS4, tails are the only things that real make saians unique but the design of the form always bothered me in GT

@Joe Fanik so of it is just personal preference but there’s a few reasons. 1. I didn’t feel like the color fit especially since the hair doesn’t match 2. That mascara though 🤣 3. I feel like it should have been more “ape” like I understand the whole aversion to the giant forms and trying to condense it down but I still think more fur should have been added in certain places maybe something with the teeth or having more ape like feet.
With it all mixed together I dunno I just kinda felt like an edge lord in a bad furry costume

Not really. It just shows how less experienced Super Goku is as a fighter than GT Goku, how reliant he is on power over skill (which is weird given Z Goku was not like this but whatever). GT Goku utilizes both ideals, he fights hard but uses his skills as efficiently as he can as well.
@@stormcutter59 Goku's reliance on power is actually a flaw that Roshi points out to him in the manga (which is who this Super Goku is based on) so yeah you're pretty spot-on.

Gt Goku is crazy experienced compared to super Goku which is a fun touch, a bit of gt in super could go along way showing skill can outmatch power if used right and not insanely overwhelming power. Also dragon ball AF is another broken version of Goku. We seriously should just have someone take over dragon ball other than toryiama so that they can do a multiverse thing where they confirm the destroyed universes where some of the most popular fan universes or something

I can't believe I've never commented on this video because it is PERFECTION. You didn't downplay GT or DBS. You gave evidence and explained each of their power perfectly. You took the time to give us an actual plot that has depth and certainly stakes. Everything about this immaculate animation is quite literally perfect. I'm just baffled by how good this is. You gave GT the respect it deserves and didn't put down DBS while doing it. You even ended it with DBS Goku going Ultra Instinct, but they were both too exhausted to go on. God, I just can't express myself enough when I say this is PERFECT. You have made THE BEST GT Goku vs DBS Goku there ever will be. I'm gonna shut up and go back to watching this actual masterpiece now.

Hmmm...so which power would you prefer? Power achieved by tapping into your most primal instincts, or power achieved through extreme control?
Personally I'd prefer the former first, that way it gives me the possibility of harnessing, honing, and eventually perfecting my control over said power. If I had to pick one though I'd choose the latter because I would know my power like nothing else and I can push myself further than losing my mind and going feral...though that mostly goes with my style of fighting, perfecting what you know and taking control of as many different strategies as possible.

The tail being the key for true SSJ mastery is actually kinda canon: Goku’s kid body had trouble using his SSJ forms, so he regrew his tail. The tail likely increases ki control in some fashion.
Albeit, SSJ3 did cause strain due to Goku’s child body not being able to handle the immense power.
No man, even with the tail, Babi just blitz Goku ssj3, rewatch this part of gt.
The tail just help unlock the true mastery of the ssj form, it doesn't give any power boost.

I don’t think you understand the gap in power between them. Just by getting the God form, Super Goku applied a ~29 million multiplier to his existing power at the end of the Buu saga. And that is before all the training arcs, power growth, new forms. Before the x50 multiplier that Super Saiyan Blue would apply to that existing God form multiplier.
Even if you get *really* generous to GT Goku, give him the power of Buu saga ssj3 in his base form, even if you went so far as to say he has 10 times that in his base form, even if you say the ssj4 multiplier is 1000 times ssj3, hell, you can pretty much talk out of your ass and give him a ssj4 multiplier of x1 million on top of ssj3.
Super Goku will still need less than 1% of his power to vaporize GT goku.
*That* is the extent of the gap between them.
At that point, does endurance really matter? Does experience? Does buffs?
If you’re dozens of millions of times more powerful, dozens of millions of times stronger, dozens of millions of times more durable, dozens of millions of times faster. At what point would you run out of energy if it takes less than 1% of your reserves to vaporize your enemy? At what point would you waste energy if by using 10% of your speed you’re thousands of times faster and all your ki blasts and punches land? At what point would a “fight smarter and use endurance” work if the gap is that large?
I’m not saying endurance and strategy are worthless, but against a gap millions times wide, does it matter? Especially when opponent A can one shot the other in the time it takes the opponent B’s brain cells to move a command from one synapse to the other?
I honestly would’ve loved this to end with SSJ4 Goku catching the unconscious Goku before he fell. Telling him he’s really something amazing

I really love the idea of summoning an older, wiser, but physically weaker Goku who has learned to overcome his obstacles in a different way than raw power to show his younger, more hotheaded counterpart the true meaning of strength.

I want a sequel to this. This is to me a great way to introducing Goku to UI. GT Goku here basically act as Master Roshi to Goku in ToP, bringing his idea of power back to the right track.

Though i'm kinda gonna admit though i think super goku is stronger than gt goku. Super goku is superior in terms of raw power but gt goku is superior in terms of techniques and brain. Think of it like gt goku is basically a very refined warrior who relies on his skills not his forms.

We can take lessons from this, u can either grow up to be a child stuck in a grown mans body or use your years to gain to new experiences, self discovery and find wisdom, Gt Goku in the animation mastered his own abilities and was passionate about his heritage where as super goku basically took drugs in the form of god ki and relied on powers not natural to him and became something he's not, wreckless and immature, the fight was about power but also philosophy

I agree. actually, super rely so much in increase power, and power levels got messed because of that, that only a god or angel can hold goku. Where is the fighting stiles? The techniques, exploring the weaker points on enemy? Thats why i got so disappointed wif dragon ball super
I guess it makes more sense tho since GT Goku would be older and have quite a bit more knowledge then Super Goku. GT may not be as powerful as Super, but he has the better fighting strategy overall.

Don't forget that, unlike what the video says, no one actually ever states that they can feel Gogeta SSJ4's power. They just say he's strong because he's kicking Omega's shit in.

It terms of power SSGSS overwhelms SSJ4 no doubt, but the big catch ... It drains the user's energy/stamina 2x or 3x faster than SSJ4 does.
So, it's either finish it fast or be a fool and lose the battle as you lost your transformation (just likewhat DBS Goku did).

GT Goku trained for quite a while longer than Super Goku. While you can say that Super gave Goku quite a few significant tools and boosts in power, the true strength of Saiyan lies in the fact that they always get stronger through time and adversity, and while Super Goku had plenty of adversity to push him forward, GT Goku had to figure out other ways to grow stronger that weren't just through raw power alone. Never mind the fact he must have a good decade or more on Super Goku, that much extra time of training can really stack up given how much stronger Saiyans get if they find the right opponent or teacher.

It's really clever that some of the details here explain some things in both Super and GT, like how GT Goku is an adult again by the end of the series or how Super Goku thought of the finger gun move he used on Kefla
I love how much justice was done to both sides. While God forms are insanely powerful, they're taxing if used for a long time. Meanwhile, GT Goku's further links to his forms allowed him to keep on the pressure without losing much stamina, but he didn't have the same brute force and had to fight on the backfoot once things got heated. While most vs battle channels would give the win to Super Goku for his massive advantage in power, here stamina was the real deciding factor.
This actually reminds me of the big flaw of SSJ3. You have all this power, but what good is it if you can't finish the fight before you're drained?

I would say stamina wouldn't matter in a contest of power and speed if the person you're combating is way stronger and way faster than you. Besides super Saiyan 4 also runs on stamina/energy
And its not like super goku has low stamina reserved either since he can fight in blue for a while anyway with the biggest weakness of blue being he can't transform multiple times in succession or stay at maximum power the longer he stays in the regular blue form
he circumvents those weaknesses by completing super Saiyan blue anyway so it's not like he doesn't also have his fair share of wisdom either since both anime and manga Goku are strategic geniuses plus T.O.P/Moro goku can stack perfect blue with the kaioken (not for very long mind you) for an even bigger boost in power and speed

There wasn't any zenkai either because of the fact saiyans have to fully recover from near death to get one not just being near death and being able to move

When GT Goku compared *ssg* to *ssj4 Gogetas* hair color, it made some sense, point being that the reason they appeared with red hair was that they entered a godly state from receiving energy from the other pure hearted saiyans, the only counterexample being that *Gogeta ssj4s* ki was able to be sensed, unlike god which lets off pressure. This just really got to me like *wooow* , it made sense, to bad it was unproven cause the others were still able to sense Gogeta ssj4s ki😭

This is a Dragon Ball battle. Not just the clashing of bodies, but the clashing of ideals. A debate had in high octane physical form.
I’m confident that if GT Goku could access Super Full Power Saiyan 4 without the assistance of other Saiyans, he would have dominated this fight no questions asked. The duration and durability of that form is so extreme it’s uncanny, and the power is nothing to laugh at either. He completely trumped Baby with it, and managed to hold out against the One-Star Shadow Dragon for hours on end. Easily the best transformation for enduring long fights.

I presume you mean the form of Blue that has the Universe Tree’s power absorbed. In which case, yes Super Goku would dominate this fight. However, this is the Dragon Ball Super Manga version of Son Goku, so he has no connection to Super Dragon Ball Heroes lore. At this point in the story, Perfected Blue is the best he can do. Super Full Power Saiyan 4 (AKA Full Power Super Saiyan 4) is achieved when four other Saiyans give Goku their “Saiya power” as it’s called in the sub of the show. Goku first achieves this form in Episode 38 of GT, and it returns later against the One-Star Dragon. This GT Goku is from the end of GT, and the Full Power form had appeared twice before then, so it is canon to GT, no matter how you dice it. Even Dokkan Battle acknowledges the form.
Being able to sustain a form with barely any energy loss is not equal to taking hits from strong fighters. Stamina does not equal defense.

Reminds me on Dragon Ball VS Dream Match of Young Jijii. It is probably the only What If battle fan manga that I consider good, because it enhances the story in Super (anime) and has GT Goku use his experience to his advantage to fight Black.

One. The manga did a better strategy than the anime version. Kaioken would have instantly killed Goku of how it been so long he use the technique and successful pull it off.... 2. Hit in the manga is weaker than the anime version. Even hit in the anime even stated that he is still keeping in improving
3. Super Goku relies more on his transformation when it comes in fighting stronger opponent than making strateg, it depends. He does finds weakness in his enemies to try to counter and explore it even more. But forgetting that when using blue is a real problem of how blue is really a strong form that drain a lot of stamina and energy even whis stated it, he can only use blue a few time in a day. GT Goku trained for 10 years and have developed a smart mind when it comes to fighting.
In the Zamasu Arc (manga) when he finally achieved perfect blue but the power was too much to keep it inside that the energy was licking out of him.
I extremely love this fight. It explore of how both Goku's are when it comes to battle, using true information than headcanon, logical sense when they are fighting and both having their own methods when it comes to a fight
