I wished Clarkson's farm come to youtube it would be massive
Yes give me 10 seasons
He's not the stig, BUT he is the stigs farmer cousin!
Nice !!
😂😂
I needed this
Why i read this with Clarkson voice in my head.
the stig's potato farming cousin!
I love that Ben Collins is featured so often on DriveTribe!
He's now officially a host, apparently, along with Izzy Hammond. Great additions to the channel.
I love the idea of Ben and Izzy being regular contributors. But I do also miss some Foodtribe, and I hope we'll have more Lucy as well.
Izzy is an absolute diamond! @@Sledgeh101
@@Sledgeh101 I think they moved Lucy to the other "tribe" channel?
Some say he lead the French Farmers Protest, others say he can plow an entire field with just his teeth. All we know is he’s not the stig, he’s the stig’s agriculture cousin!
Pin this comment already. î :D
@@Throku thank you, it did take some effort getting into the JC groove.
LoL - i think Clarkson’s well safe, if we keep with Mike’s rate of tree planting the cider will be ready by year 2100
😂😂
Ben who?
@@2760ade Some say, he is called "The Stig".
tennisball picker-upper for the apple's , it's worth a try and see how it work's
There's only ONE Stig.
Some say hes dreamed of purchasing a farm so he make his own cider...All we know, hes called the Agricultural Stig!!
11:34 Pro-tip for tree planting: dig a square hole.
If you have a round hole, especially in hard-packed soil, the roots don't want to grow out, as it follows the route of least resistance. Instead they get stuck in the loose filler soil, coiling up below the tree and preventing a wider root system from forming. A square hole has sharp corners, where the roots get pushed into and have nowhere to go but out.
Done this way, the tree will have a much bigger chance of growing a solid root system, that isn't packed together.
Just wanted to say - that is a superb tip - thanks.
@@Chilled_Mackers Thank you, my pleasure.
Thanks❤ Does it work that way for plants too?
Thanks for this.
🤯
I want to make absolutely clear that I am 100% here for Collins’ farm… it’s only really in the last few months how I’ve realised that the trio wasn’t just a trio, or a group of 4, but actually a bit of 5+ people!
Simp
@@jimmymcgoo8641Get a life.
There were many unnamed as well. The cinematography awards prove that
@@jimmymcgoo8641 uhh yeah, it’s okay you know, don’t be afraid to love things, or show things that you love them.
@@Eric-dr5bj of course, but Ben Collins and Andy willman really do have the same voice as top gear, if that makes any sense at all!
Watching Ben the last couple years, it has become so apparent he has a natural talent for presenting. I would love to see him be given the opportunity to fill the "car TV" void sometime in the future if it were something he is interested in pursuing.
Please make this a CZcams series. You two have so much potential if you let this run. Brilliant
I can‘t get over how incredibly effortless Colin’s presenting is. Top driver, top presenter👍🏻😉
Stig FARM growing fastest lap times
first thing to run on it, I bet is the turbocharged JCB. 😂
"Who's 'Collin'?" 😂
Some kinda actual Stig/Clarkson Farm competition would be a series I would definitely watch
You're already watching though, so...
@@Sidowse I am and I would watch more
I will watch pretty much anything with Mike and Ben. Great chemistry between the two. More Mike and Ben!
"Some say that he bought a farm to drill for oil and that at night, all 7,500 varieties apple whisper his name like angels. All we know is he’s not the Stig, but the Stig's
farming cousin .”
*Comes out in a farming overalls and looks like a farmer but with white racing helmet with a blacked visor*
Jeremy with his beer
James with his gin
Stig with his cider
Question is when Richard will announce his own brand of wine?
We are all gonna turn into alcoholics
Would expect something more American like root beer or whiskey.
Hammond will probably make his own brand of Bourbon, seeing as how he likes all things American.
@@TheKnobCalledTone. Guess he'll set up shop in Kentucky then
Half a cider and Mike is already giggling uncontrollably and slurring his words LOL!
You two have amazing chemistry! More of this please 👍
In case anyone's wondering about the coats - Mike has a Barbour Ashby on and Ben has a Barbour Border (30+ years old I'd say judging from the design details (dress gordon lining and small poppers on the throat flap)??)
New car show is just getting started, right here on Hot Gear - Cape Town. Humble beginnings but stay tuned for jan 2025 we are going to knock your socks 10:27 in the video. White guy, coloured guy and a black guy all with different tastes in cars, adventures and upbringings. We are going to rock ✌️😅✌️
Cant wait for the first episode its gonna be epic!
Not only is hot gear going to be epic but they also going to be planting fruit trees at government schools in cape town south africa for every 100 subs!!! If i know seagan then his definitely going to do this! Cant wait to meet the team!
Wait so they going to be shooting in Cape Town??
@@FireAntBooks we only started the channel last 5/6 days ago 🤣 our car nation will grow✅
Such a townie Mike, trainers on a farm - after the wettest rainfall in history!!
I’m a city dweller. But I do own a pair of rain boots. Who goes to a farm without wearing something that can take some wet soil. Heck my safety boots are probably a better choice
Ben, you need to dig your holes wider than that for a tree…makes it much easier for the roots to spread out and grow if they’re growing through loose soil as opposed to that compacted clay filled soil you’ve got
Ben is SUCH a racing driver 😂
Clarkson is hilarious! Its a joy to watch him getting yelled at by his employees, land manager, farmer, council, and his girlfriend all in a day's work.
Ben...Such a nice chap! A real delight to listen to. He's......Just level headed and honest.
What have we learned today?
Mike has the alcohol tolerance of a Japanese School Girl.
And
Ben is that Uncle who teaches you things, without you knowing, that you're learning something.
BTW,, Ben. In Spain there's a tractor that puts out a Folding Upside Down Umbrella, then shakes the trees to get the Oranges off.
Both cities of Madrid and Valencia own some for the orange trees in the city.
They're on CZcams.
Farmers just use immigrants?
That's the kind of aid he was refering to in the clip. He was asking about the apples already on the ground.
@@temp5782 Spain here, can confirm.
@@alwoolhouse6255 Same here. The government gives them houses, healtcare, driving licence and money.
The way Mike’s voice cracks telling Ben to stop the Kubota is fabulous 😂
Loved this. Laugh out loud. Great banter and connection between you both.
I like Farm Stig
Clarkson, the man, the legend. What a reply.
Ben who? Dover, Ben Dover of course.
Ben always seems so chill but there was a real sense of rage when Mike was picking that rust 😅
Yeah, cause it was a really dog thing to do
Better do a farm racetrack then!
counsil waiting to deny permissions
Brilliant, looks gorgeous where you're living Ben, im sure you and your family will be very happy there, lots of outdoor space, the land with so much potential, best of luck to your Ben, you're just awesome 😊❤
More content like this! this is the banter and chemistry we loved from Top Gear.
I have a feeling Ben doesn’t suffer fools gladly
18:58 I'd love to see Ben give the old Suzuki Liana one more spin. See if he can beat the F1 times
Fishing net shroud around the tree ought to be the solution for picking up the apples.
You are the luckiest man alive Mike.
I'd love to have the opportunity to hang out with Ben. The coolest guy on the planet.
The King of Cool...
Ben Collins
Thx for the content guys🤘🏻🏁
This is the best video with Mike involved.
I love it that stig managed to do his own stuff
Mike jumping on the cart brings back memories of John in the Mongolian episode. It's crazy how John was so beloved.
Beautiful compilation, Yvonne. Loved it. 👏 👏
Mike all giggly after a couple of sips of cider? Proper lightweight lol
Ben is also former SAS..Quite a varied career!
This is great also loving the channel
Ben is a complete legend
Enjoyed that! They work well together. 👍🏻
Clarkson doing the beer, James May doing Gin, Ben doing cider!! what's next?
congratulations on your new farm Ben !
Love to see sandford orchards doing well. The distillery is from my home town and I'm seeing it more and more further from home. Try Devon mist, it's even more drinkable. Looking forward to seeing how well Ben does when it comes to making his own cider to.
The top gear spirit lives on and I'm so happy for them ❤
Ben Collin’s, best Motoring content in the world - love him on Drivetribe and love him on Ben Collin’s … fan from down under 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
i love how ben doesnt know who collins is at 10:49
I'm over here in Pontiac Michigan, watching this, while drinking an American Apple Imperial Hard Cider, from Blake's Orchard, not far from here. Blake's is a great orchard, and great cidery, worthy of a visit! They do tours, and tastings... I'll definitely visit his place, one day, if he opens to the public!
There was something so satisfying of seeing Mike bouncing up and down on the car to get it out of the mud. BENJAMIN!!! 😂😂😂
I'm glad to see Ben connecting with nature through apple trees, he'll be better for it, and im super looking forward to trying his cider
Ben definitely is a guy i'd happily have a beer with.
this was awesome, I want more
Cool show again guys, thank you ! Please keep them coming 👍 Btw, I would put a net or a tarp under that tree to catch the apples like they do when harvesting olives.
This was one of the most enjoyable videos on DriveTribe.
"I'm an alco-pop kind of guy-"
No kidding.
If you're not planning to use the apples, get one of the golf cart attachments they use at driving ranges and hook it up to the Kubota.
Gotta love BC legend
"It can be cold and wet sometimes"...you can hear it in his voice, it reminds him of home in Scotland...
The Pari Dakar help for heros training film was my all time favorite moment on top gear
Wow a really beautiful property, enjoy it!
Oh gosh! All this talk of Ben getting back to Dunsfold to do some laps is very exciting!
Awesome
so glad he's in the fold and around! miss ben.
Great chemistry with these two, love to see more BC
Mike is like Ben's adopted brother that he didn't ask for. He wanted a dog and they adopted Mike instead.
I mean, he's young enough to be his son but is still making jokes about Ben's book. The kid deserves eveything coming at him. But they have great chemistry, I think its TV gold actually
@Frenchpressme bang on 😂
Livin' the dream, legend.
Ben Collins : For catching your apples, you wanna set up bug net or snow fence laid out horizontally and raised up about 1 meter from the ground in a circle around the base of your apple tree(s) for harvesting the apples without needing to pick them up by hand. Posts for snow fence and your choice of material, but something that flexes is ideal so they don't break or shred when falling.
Bless him, Jeremy is getting forgetful in his old age!
"Over the border, Somerset" reminded me of the Clarkson quote "Burford ... to most people in Chipping Norton, myself included, is basically France." talking about one of the Murdochs living there, there are a number of Murdochs closer to Chippy and he's mostly correct other than there are signposts saying where Burford is. (Never been there though).
Loved this though, nice plan Ben.
the device you put on the ground to pick the apples is called a net. Bit late for that now
The stig would be such an awesome friend to have.
Yo. I bet the Stig Farm grows crops at least 40 seconds a day faster.
Lay a tarp or wrap around the tree, also little baskets that surround at the bottom you lift up and dump into a bin.
Mike is such a kid 😂😂
Oh boy am I excited to see Ben's fast response vehicle.
Hilarious...love it...!
We need more Collins Farm!
I would love for these two to get there own Amazon series love the content final get my top gear fix whilst waiting for the grand tour specials
For the last episode of the grand tour, it would be SO AWESOME if they brought Ben in. I mean it would come full circle.
Please, someone with the connections, make this happen!!!!!!!!!
They've probably not just thought of it. DO IT
Camerawork is great on this video!
yes!!! no more rb branding on Mike anywhere in plain sight... I'm proud of you 👌
"Who's Colin " 😂❤
Ben M25 rootstock 6M (20') tree wow huge. Some very specific pruning to be carried out there to allow them to be columnar otherwise you will have a ' mare with harvesting!
Such a nice climate, honestly. Not too hot, not dry, not freezing cold in winter like North America. Great place for fruit trees or livestock
i`m pretty sure there are machines or tools for picking up ground-fall (kinda round rakes with flexible tines, can't remember what they're called.). Growing up in apple country we would do school trips picking up the fallen apples for orchards as fund-raising efforts.
Thank you for the reality sr
Do a series on drive tribe with Ben’s farm I’d watch this over the other farming show any day!
Looking forward to seeing Stig Cider in a store near me :-)
Well done Ben, I'm jealous
Ben is such a natural on camera. I love watching him
I kinda want to move to Devon as well, even though i have never been there before, but it's more about my favorite period called the Devonian.
I just like the idea of the ancient dirt, having been around since the Devonian and possibly having some Dunkleosteus skulls hidden in there.
To me it feels like it's a separate corner in time on Earth, aside from the stereotypes about Devon.
Entertaining insert, these British farmer-type shows and inserts gives a total different perception to farming, as a South African surrounded by farming and farmers daily, it could not be more different to me. Really great episode.
A British farmer is far less likely to be shot or robbed by armed gangs, so there's one difference between the UK and South Africa.
You know it.@@TheKnobCalledTone.
