    My younger brother traveled to Indonesia January of 2019.
    While abroad he bought a single pack of Topps Match Attax trading cards. One of the six cards was a Jordan Henderson. Keep in mind, this was before he hoisted any silverware for LFC but the way the 2018/19 season was going it felt like an omen. He kept it safe for me, using it as a bookmark and came home with it on the 31st of May. Just in time to watch Liverpool and Jordan Henderson lift the European Cup for the 6th time, together with our family. The same time the next year, my brother was dead, passing away in March 2020. Since then many things have changed in my life, for better and for worse. Since then, Jordan Henderson has won everything there is to win for Liverpool Football Club.
    His card represents my love for my brother and it represents a man on the cusp of greatness, who made us all dream and reached his own.
    Thanks skip. I will always keep it with me.

    I remember him coming to our club back in 2011. I exactly remember the day and the title of this news: " the first transfer is here: Jordan Henderson!". And I saw this young guy year after year becoming our legend. He has grown up and matured in front of my eyes throughout all these 11 years. He is my favorite player of all time. Without any doubt. He is heart and soul of our today's team.
    Much love, Hendo

    • @Luce_3
      @Luce_3 Před rokem +14

      It's interesting, because just five or so years ago people wanted him out and considered him to be the weak link in the team with the way he recycled possession. Nowadays it's difficult to find any criticism of the sort. Personally I think his willpower outweighs his talent by a margin, and that's alright. All teams need a player who radiates belief to the rest of the squad, which is a mantle Hendo has carried with pride since Gerrard left.

    I remember Hendo coming to the club and struggling a fair bit. I liked him even back then because he gave everything every time he stepped on the pitch. I really respected his hard work.
    But the first time I saw him live was in a pre-season game in Finland 2015, was the first time I realised he is much more then a hard working guy. He is a natural born leader. Everything he did, every run he made was for the team. Even in a pre-season game against a team he probably never heard of, he put his team first. You miss a lot when watching football on the TV and I can only assume that anyone that doesn't rate Hendo has never seen him play live or paid attention to him.
    That's why you'll never see a manager or player say a bad word about him because they see what he does for the team and what he brings to the table. No one at Liverpool will ever say he doesn't deserve to wear the armband.
    There couldn't have been a better man to pick up the armband from Gerrard. Everyone else would have crumbled under that pressure. Jordan became a diamond because of it.

      Henderson is a great example of how perseverance and hard work do pay off. Unlike some players who everyone could see was destined for great things even as youngsters, Henderson spent his early career mired in doubt even from some of the managers. There were many doubters on whether he could take over from Gerrard, a bona fide legend, but Henderson overcame Gerrard's huge shadow, worked hard and improved his game every year. Having won everything at club level as captain, he will be considered among the great Liverpool captains in the club history when he finally retires.

    Yes I love LFC so I would watch this anyway, Yes I love Jordan Henderson the player on the pitch and the man off it so would have watched this anyway. But nothing made me more proud (despite the fact I don't even know the guy at all) and and I suppose comfortable in his ability than the fact this was directed by Laurence McKenna. So happy that he is being given opportunities like this and showing what talent he has for documentary filmmaking. Smashed it Loz and all others involved, great watch.

    Jordon hasn’t won the most trophies yet as captain…….but he truly is the most inspirational captain in my life time. I grew up with the Bob Paisley era so I’ve seen the glory years, and the difficult years, but these are out best years. A team that Nevers stops trying, that makes us the fans feel like we matter. Shankly would be so proud. This is led by the best captain I have ever been privileged to watch. Thanks Hendo.

    A special player who has helped shape a special moment for the club. The term "legend" can sometimes be overused but for Hendo its a befitting word. It can't be emphasised enough what he's done for Liverpool FC. A true club legend. Thank you Hendo!

    I'll admit ...the first 2 seasons I had my doubts. He lacked skill, accuracy, and awareness. Suddenly he became a legend. A fighter. He never gives up! He runs and runs, until that final whistle. I can only imagine what he's saying on and off the pitch to the other players. Such an inspiration. Hendo... YNWA! ❤

      @@reezevlog If you think that is what elevates him over the others.... i dont think you understand football lol. Souness is the most successful LFC captain ever. Souness won the league title 5 times with Liverpool in seasons 1978-79, 1979-80, 1981-82, 1982-83, 1983-84. He won the league cup 3 times in seasons 1981-82, 1982-83, 1983-84. He also won a little competition called The European Cup 3 times as LFC captain, in seasons 1977-78, 1980-81, 1983-84. Hendo has won the club world cup, the european super cup, and the fa cup twice. But winning 2 more league titles and 2 more European cups beats that all day long. I love Hendo but Souey is the most successful. I would love Hendo to beat him ofc as will mean we will continue killing it but that remains to be seen.

    Jordan Henderson, un jugador normal, incluso algo limitado técnicamente, pero un tremendo lider y gran futbolista, eso demuestra que no todo es talento, muchos jugadores talentosos no tienen lo que tiene Henderson y no llegan lejos, pero puedes ser un tremendo jugador por trabajar duro, ser fuerte mentalmente, ser jugador de equipo, ser confiable, intenso y tremendo lider, eso es Hendo, siempre se necesitan jugadores así, el mantiene el equipo concentrado y como leones dentro de la cancha, tremendo Jordan Henderson, nuestro capitán.
