I think things went down hill for the foal when he kicked sand in his mothers face right at the start, followed by a kick in the stomach ! cute little guy x
From my horses to Rick, Thank you for teaching our stupid humun not to hurt us! As for me, my first foal was allowed to be with other horses after it got its legs steady. Mom Dolly would not let the other 5 horses near the foal but days later did let 3 mares say hello. It was weeks before she let the two geldings near. He is today a very respectful horse. Since they were never seperated in all his 5 years he is a momas boy. But this last year she has been pushing him away. As far as 8 acres will allow. Again from the stupid human still learning, Thank you.
Mom says move Kid throws tantrum Mom still says move Kid continues to throw tantrum and kicks mom Mom says oh hell no Kid runs around saying nyah nyah you can't get me Mom cuts him off at the pass and gave a quick pop to the ass Kid learns a lesson
Yes you have used this video before but I don't mind seeing this one again. Makes me laugh every time I see it. Love how the Mom is like oh no you didn't!! Okay lesson time LOL....
You made this video before but this time it brought to my attention how fair she was when correcting the foal. Not excessive but also 0% tolerance for insolence. Human parents could stand to learn
Love this video. "Pain correction" is natural, even with human children. You hurt me, I will hurt you right back with controlled and equal pain, maybe a little more to make a point that will last for the rest of a child's life. NOT ABUSE, "Correction"! All animals use pain correction. "Well humans can communicate verbally". Uh huh, how many times am I going to let a 2 year old child bite me and say "Don't! That hurts" before I bite the little (bleep) back? ONCE! Problem is, too many want to use pain correction for everything, it's not the answer for everything, rather for a few things. "Parenting" whether for human or animal requires careful attention to "who" they are dealing and what punishments are suitable for bad behaviors. Why I HATE bits! A horse is nice enough to carry someone and that someone repays the horse by causing him/her pain in the mouth!? Thanks for sharing Rick!
Love this video - human parents could do well to follow the example of the horsey mom when it comes to disciplining their children. Thanks for sharing again Rick!
The sad thing is a lot of people don't understand horse communication & you have to be very observant to see & understand the slight movements a horse makes to communicate. Rick is a great teacher of horses behavior & communication.
I am literally sitting here sqealing with laughter at your horse-voice-overs, what mom says to the baby and what that little one says back. THIS is just priceless!!!!
Brilliant description of this little episode. Your "horse-speak" commentary makes me laugh!! "Oowww!" .... "knock it off!" ... "Are we still friends?" ... "I'm not convinced you got the message...."Dooo!"
My horsey mom is a little different, her baby starts kicking her if he can't nurse. She won't correct him, she will let him nurse after he kicks her. However she won't step in if another horse is correcting him. She just watches vary closely. On a different note, we did save them together. They were both starved and according to the guy she "rejected" him. 🙄 They are living happy and healthy now so... Rejection, I think not.
This redo is even better than the previous critique. The critical information is that the mare and colt/filly are being kept in a terribly confining pen. There is no freedom to graze, exercise or just experience horse life.
This video is probably one of my favorites done by you! I don’t have any horses near my house but there is a mama donkey and her baby right down the road, and the ways they communicate with each other are so interesting! Just today they both came up to the fence and were eating, and the young one got too close to Mama. Mama pinned her ears, baby ignored her and got bit pretty good! Didn’t ignore any more of those warnings😂 I’ve learned so much from these videos about horse language, keep up the great work Rick!
Small enclosure. No other babies to go play with. Only choice is to pester mom. Humans helped to create this dynamic. But most of them won't realize that. My 2 cents.
I work with a vet and trust me Rick is right. We have to put horses down or help someone where the mum rejected the babies. We try to tell people not to interfere but sadly no one seems to listen
Always worth watching again, it's a fun video with great horsey communication! And it's great the way you break it down and point out exactly what the horses are saying, cuz most people wouldn't catch it.
You can redo videos as much as you'd like, you will always have something new to add and it's always a fun, entertaining learning session to be had! I may not always comment, but I look forward and watch your videos daily!
Baby was being a brat and Mommy did what Mommy was supposed to do and let him know it is not OK to kick Mom in the stomach. I DO enjoy the fact that after Mom disciplines her baby, now SHE'S the one in the sand pile. Baby tries to apologize and then he goes right back to his antics again.
I remember when I worked in a stud, there was this pretty colt. He was playing inside the stable, and as I was giving hay he kicked me in the stomach. not hard, luckily, as it was just in play. It took me a second to just realise what the little s*it did, but then I kicked him back once. Not hard ofcouse, but enough to make my point. He never, ever jumped around or kicked out when someone entered his stable.
Another reason to appreciate my Texan relatives. They understood Mother Nature and human nature. They used to talk about 'horse sense,' as in 'he has no horse sense." Like common sense - And common sense is not common!!! People who lived on the land were very wise...
Yes, towards the end, your remarks on space. All my friends who've bred from their mares have sent them off to live with other mares and foals for the first few months, just so they can have space and other foals to play with and learn to socialise, both with them and with other grown-up horses. They end up with much better manners that way. Nothing more spoilt than a hand-reared horse, quite dangerous too.
Toddler in horsey world! Soooo stinking cute! How can you look at this and not see Mom in the play pen with baby. Stupid human....let em out in the pasture where the toddler can run it off.
.Rick gave a simple explanation and very clear, too, for anybody to understand the problems stupid humans do to horses, and three big dummies disliked the video. WHAT'S THERE NOT TO UNDERSTAND IN THESE VIDEO?
If the mom wanted to actually hurt the baby I guarentee u the little thing would of been limping or dead by the first kick. Moral of this video: mamma horses know how to discipline better than human moms.
Fantastic! Always learn so much from you! You are “spot on” about - the days when you could “tap, spank even discipline your children” LOL !!! THANK YOU for YOUR GREAT INSIGHT- forever your fan 🤩🤩🤩 Joni K.
One of my faves, thanks Dad. Humans take note - kid raised with respect with just a short, not too sharp correction and life returns to normal. I just want to live on my own Island surrounded with horses and dogs and Internet so I can keep on improving great horsemanship from my three horsey faves. 100% addicted and DARN IT... it's ALL your fault Dad 😂 Buddy...Mr T.. Dad...Mokie. ..you are THE BEST 💙💙💙💙
This mare is really patient and only uses so much force on the baby as she has to. The problem that was with people, some of them used violence to discipline their kids, like beating the cr*p out of them.
Yes you’ve done this video before..I think. There was one dumb lady in the comments on Facebook saying how that’s not acceptable and she’s seen Momma’s break their babies legs before and how she’s had to put down foals because of that and she would have separated them. Smh. I’m sure she’s the reason the mares kicked their foals hard enough to break their legs because she locked them in a stable and hovered over them.
Oh there are some days I wish I could do that when my child is being a knuckle head and trying my patience. Only joking any barn witches reading this but it, never did me any harm to get my butt smacked when I deserved it. Lol.😂
Even though my autism makes it very hard to understand communication and emotions, somehow I'm good with little kids kinda like that horse. If I say no, it's a no and it stays a no. I believe any mare can raise any foal, maybe even any stallion can raise any foal idk, like I can teach some kid I don't even know within 5 seconds to not scream when I'm around. Had it once at the doctor's office, was playing with some 2 year old twins while waiting, one of them sick the other healthy and mom exhausted, and then the healthy one decided to scream because she wanted some toy. So I simply told her, I don't play with screaming kids, and turned my back sitting between the 2 girls playing with the other one who wasn't screaming. I guess I shocked not only the screaming girl but also the mom, but atleast she was quiet so I let her join us again after a minute or 2
Rick, in horsey language, is there a difference in the degree of discipline between a kick or bite? I noticed the the mare could have bit the foal, but chose to turn completely around for the kick. Your thoughts appreciated.
Think Like A Horse Greatly appreciated. Learning much. I'll be more attentive to their bite/kick behavior in your future herd critiques. Also, returning to your archive videos.
"If you wanna play butt games, my butt's bigger than yours"
I'm gonna say that from now on, every time someone tries to get cocky with me LMAO
I think things went down hill for the foal when he kicked sand in his mothers face right at the start, followed by a kick in the stomach ! cute little guy x

Foal: _(Kicks mare and acts haughty.)_
Mare: *"BOY, IF YOU DON'T-"*
Mom says move
Kid throws tantrum
Mom still says move
Kid continues to throw tantrum and kicks mom
Mom says oh hell no
Kid runs around saying nyah nyah you can't get me
Mom cuts him off at the pass and gave a quick pop to the ass
Kid learns a lesson
Story of my childhood
Baby: * kicks mom *
Mom: *DON'T TEST ME BOI*
Redpanda 123 😂😂😂😂😂
I remember this from before, but sure do enjoy...
I don't care if you posted this before, or not it's a good info. My kids could tell by my face if trouble was coming. It's called good parenting.
Some parents need to take lessons from this Mama horse 😂😂
Yes you have used this video before but I don't mind seeing this one again. Makes me laugh every time I see it. Love how the Mom is like oh no you didn't!! Okay lesson time LOL....
You made this video before but this time it brought to my attention how fair she was when correcting the foal. Not excessive but also 0% tolerance for insolence. Human parents could stand to learn
You've filmed this video twice already but I'll never get tired of this video with your explanations really !
Love this Mom!!!
yeah you did this one before, but I love this clip so much I often go back to watch it!
Love this video. "Pain correction" is natural, even with human children. Totally agree!!! Baby has to learn from mom so he doesn't get hurt being around other horses.
I think you've done this one twice already but still a good video rick!
And now it's 2021 and everyone watches this
Love this video - human parents could do well to follow the example of the horsey mom when it comes to disciplining their children. Thanks for sharing again Rick!
Thats one thing I love most about horses, they are constantly communicating with you, other horses even other animals, they hold no secrets.
The sad thing is a lot of people don't understand horse communication & you have to be very observant to see & understand the slight movements a horse makes to communicate.
Rick is a great teacher of horses behavior & communication.
You did this Rick lol I had to stop and think " Did I go back in time" cause it said uploaded 14 minutes ago so I was like " What???" 😂😂😂
Good ole horse sense !!! Naughty foal had it coming !! Many children need the same lessons !! ❤️🐴
This is one of my favorite videos. Could watch that baby and mama all day!!!
I am literally sitting here sqealing with laughter at your horse-voice-overs, what mom says to the baby and what that little one says back. THIS is just priceless!!!!
I love that video. Like I say, Mares need a Mom's Day out, and the foals need a playdate in a grassy pasture, so their moms can get a break.
Typical kid...I don't wanna, you can't make me! Mom: Oh yes I can.
Youve done this before, no worries. We get something new each time...love when the baby kicks mom in the ribs, she’s like hell no, you little sh%$
Southwestgal------Ambushed mom. Mom's tail went up quick.
Gerry Coleman lol
It's just a kid throwing a tantrum and getting spanked, not a big deal.
Brilliant description of this little episode. Your "horse-speak" commentary makes me laugh!! "Oowww!" .... "knock it off!" ... "Are we still friends?" ... "I'm not convinced you got the message...."Dooo!"
THIS IS ONE MAN THAT REALLY KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT SHAME MORE HORSE PEOPLE HAVENT GOT A CLUE ABOUT THER HORSES
Lol this Momma is smart
Reminds me of when my Mom would have enough of us fussing in the kitchen and get out the wooden spoon....pop!
Good job Mama, raising him right 👍😘
Right!! Horse moms are perfect & clear in what they do!
Little horsey temper tantrum! 😂😂
This brought a much needed smile to my face and laugh for your comments. Thanks! The stupidity of people is astounding.

I believe you did this one but as always good video!

😂
That was the horse equivalent to the human slap on the wrist
i love how the baby looks exactly like the mom. haha thats great! mom taught a good lesson and baby sure learned lol
Love baby clacking too. I have learned almost as much watching your channel this past 3 as I have my 17 previous years in keeping horses 💙🇬🇧❤️
Cheeky little critter. Tried to come back on Mom again and she told him.Must be a colt.
you did this already but i don't mind seeing this again, because there might be something new.
Indeed, you did this video before but I like to watch it again!
Mama has her own mini me. Mama has to teach her youngin, and baby is learning. Too cute
Omg that was hysterical.... wow.... and you are 100 percent correct... how sad is it that they had no place to run
Small enclosure. No other babies to go play with. Only choice is to pester mom. Humans helped to create this dynamic. But most of them won't realize that. My 2 cents.
Gerry Coleman --great point, good two cents.
I work with a vet and trust me Rick is right. We have to put horses down or help someone where the mum rejected the babies. We try to tell people not to interfere but sadly no one seems to listen
Indira Smajic
So true, have been seeing this very often. So sad.
you did do this vid but i loved seeing it again lol!
Always worth watching again, it's a fun video with great horsey communication! And it's great the way you break it down and point out exactly what the horses are saying, cuz most people wouldn't catch it.
Like correcting a two year old, good mom.
You already did this video but I don’t really care I still find your videos amusing and I love watching them:)
been watching your vids , YOU KNOW YOUR HORSES SIR ! jam up job you do keep up the great work!
Other than the color, he's like a young version of Muddy Buddy. What a cute and sassy little baby!
Just a sassy baby. Had mama cats slap or grab a sassy baby.
You can redo videos as much as you'd like, you will always have something new to add and it's always a fun, entertaining learning session to be had! I may not always comment, but I look forward and watch your videos daily!
Baby got a spanking
Lisa Dooley and survived!
Wonderful to watch. Good mama.
Great video! One of my favourites because of the clear message presented in it
Another great video!! We used to call those educational or correctional contacts “Love taps”!
Am I the only one who hears Rick's commenting when I'm working with a horse?
Victoria Olender I hear him!! LOL!
Maybe, mares need a Mom's day out, put the foals in horsy day care. LOL
I remember when I worked in a stud, there was this pretty colt. He was playing inside the stable, and as I was giving hay he kicked me in the stomach. not hard, luckily, as it was just in play. He never, ever jumped around or kicked out when someone entered his stable.
Taught him RESPECT. Excellent.
I don't know the first thing about horses; but I know a lot about kids, and this a ll makes common sense to me!
OH MY GOD, that mare is rejecting the foal. We need to save it and bottle feed it.
Another reason to appreciate my Texan relatives. They understood Mother Nature and human nature. They used to talk about 'horse sense,' as in 'he has no horse sense."
Like common sense -
And common sense is not common!!!
People who lived on the land were very wise...
Horses are so beautiful. I love watching their legs, especially the foals. Another good lesson on horse language. Love it. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
I don't want to play the "butt game" with any horse...
Frederikke Løvschal 😂👍
Oh and the barn witch voice is the best too... ahahah
Amen.. for horse kids and people kids.
That’s a good mom
Just like a 2 year old throwing a fit 😂 great video on body language especially for people wanting to know more and understand horses
Yes, towards the end, your remarks on space. I"m sorry Mom, I'm sorry Mom .(This is a good Mom.)
.Rick gave a simple explanation and very clear, too, for anybody to understand the problems stupid humans do to horses, and three big dummies disliked the video. WHAT'S THERE NOT TO UNDERSTAND IN THESE VIDEO?
herbert --probably shows those three Barn Witches/warlocks are dumber than the dirt baby is kicking around in🤗🤗
If the mom wanted to actually hurt the baby I guarentee u the little thing would of been limping or dead by the first kick. Moral of this video: mamma horses know how to discipline better than human moms.
Good vid subbed. Love how you realized the reason baby is acting up is cuz its bored as shit in that ugly fucking pen
Fantastic! Always learn so much from you! You are “spot on” about - the days when you could “tap, spank even discipline your children” LOL !!! THANK YOU for YOUR GREAT INSIGHT- forever your fan 🤩🤩🤩 Joni K.

I love this video, I see a couple of dislikes on here why, this is a cute video I enjoy it every time.

pecan baby 3107 the reason we live in such a pc bs world is the fact all respect has gone - parent like a horse 😀
as a mom I relate
Love this video and shared on my FB.
This is the 3rd time you've reviewed this video
To finally hear someone state the truth about why mom abandon their babies in the animal world.
Beautiful communication. Thank you very much for translating it ;)
Momma and baby are nearly twins.
Lol I seen that to. Have a good day
Poor horses, kept in that paddock with no fresh grass!
The mom and the foal are the exact defenition of me and my brother XDDDDD
So happy you did this video again! Good basic lessons everyone needs to be reminded of.

Your thoughts appreciated.
bites are more aggressive discipline or more clear action not so much threat, butts are more threats for babies, but IT DEPENDS
Think Like A Horse
Greatly appreciated. Learning much.
I'll be more attentive to their bite/kick behavior in your future herd critiques.
