My Wife bought me this Cue for my 75th birthday, couldn't be happier.
A fine choice 👍
Looks just like my first 2 piece cue, (a Viking), that I bought for around $80. Which, as I remember, was a lot for my pocketbook at the time. This was back in the late 60's. Since then, though I have owned and played with many, many different cues throughout the years, I've always had a liking for Viking cues.
hands down best cue reviewer on YT
Thank you, that's very kind. Glad you are enjoying the video's 👍👍👍
Nice starter cue. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching! 👍
Just received this Cue. It's very nice for the money. Thanks for the review. I bought it because I trust you and your review. I also registered for the lifetime warrantee on the Viking Website.
Perfect, thank you for your support and hope you are enjoying the cue! Good call on registering it on the Viking website! 👍👍
man you got me sold on this cue😃 but unfortunatly it does not ship to austria, i will be waiting for the luky cue since it does ship to austria, hope it performes like the valhalla.
Great revew keep it up you deserve more subscribers and vewers👍
Actually if you follow our links in the Video Description to Amazon.com you should find that amazon.com can ship the Valhalla direct to Austria for you ($11.90 shipping when I checked). Otherwise, the Lucky review will be coming later in the year! Hope that helps! 👍
Great review, I'm going to grab one ASAP!
Awesome, glad you enjoyed it! Please be sure to support us and use our Amazon links in the video description. Thank you for your support! 👍
@@AverageJoesPool Subbed, liked and I'll grab that cue using the link you provided. Thanks again!
I bought a Schmelke True Stroke cue back in about 1982, and aside from a small ding or two, it is still just as nice as it was new. Paid about $85.00 for it back then, and have never thought of replacing it. I like all the info given about the Valhalla here, except for the China part.
Schmelke are still going strong and producing some really good value USA made cues. Great to hear yours is is great shape after more than 40 years, that's awesome! Glad you enjoyed the Valhalla video 👍
If anyone is considering a lucky cue by McDermott or this, dont make the mistake to buy a lucky cue if you are ever worry about warpage , Valhalla cue is life time warranty, all you pay for is shipping cost. But McDermott does not ever cover warpage, only other minor defects , joint or pin imperfection. The cost to ship to McDermott and warpage repair is about $80 u might as well buy different cue at that point or have local fix it for you…
Just my 2 cents, I already made the mistake of buying a Lucky cue I just hope it play well for few years before needed to replace.
Yes, there are pro's and con's for both for sure. The Lucky does not cover warpage, and the Valhalla can only be replaced once (according to the warranty pages on both). Maybe we'll run a Lucky vs Valhalla video in the future comparing the two head-to-head! Thank you for your input and sharing your experiences 👍
i have this cue (the wrapless version) and it is awesome. best $100 i've ever spent!
Glad you're enjoying your Valhalla 👍👍👍
For me, the slightly more conical taper is a plus, making for a more solid hit.
Absolutely! 👍
I play mostly snooker and english 8 ball these days. Not played 9 ball for about 15 years. Thinking of starting to play more 9 ball again. Might grab one today. Cheers for the review.
Glad you found the video helpful! If you do decide to buy one it would be appreciated if you could please use our Amazon links in the Video Description to help support us in return. Thanks for watching 👍👍👍
@@AverageJoesPool Will do.
I bought this cue over a year ago. I'm so glad I did.
Great cue choice 👍
Great review.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
I know Valhalla is a great cue for the price. I struggled between the Valhalla and the McDermott Lucky cue. I went with the Lucky because I actually shot with one years ago and really liked it. But I've heard nothing but good about the Valhalla.
Indeed, Lucky and Valhalla seem to be battling it out for top $100 cue status. We can confirm that we actually have a Lucky by McDermott cue on our way to us currently for review! @@AverageJoesPool - Sub'd ! I look forward to your lucky review. It just came in and I personally like it. A steep contrast to my JFlowers Carbon cue.
@@AverageJoesPoolplease do I love wrapless cue so I Bought the L1 black lucky already . Seeing all these review about Valhalla I’m afraid of making the wrong choice….
I have this same cue bro and let me just say i will never get rid of it. I have been playing with it for the longest time and love it. It has made me so much money. I genuinely think it is the best cheap cue you can get. If you see this and you aren’t sure bro trust me when i tell you it is worth it. I have been able to do everything you can think of with it. Well worth it. Had to speak on this cue😂
Thanks for sharing your experiences, and glad to hear you also love your Valhalla 👍👍
have you considered reviewing a custom made cue? there are several custom cues made in Indonesia and they are actually pretty sweet, ranging from 100$ - 700$
We have a lot more cue reviews to come, from various manufacturers 👍
I’m in process of getting new cue in that price range, I hope it comes in all black, 16-17.75 ounces. I’m in between Valhalla and champion gator.
The Valhalla VA101 is solid black (you can find this in the Amazon link we provide in the Video Description: amzn.to/4buyJyl). The lightest weight option for Valhalla cues is 18oz. Hope that helps! 👍👍
@@AverageJoesPool yes it did, thank you
But I’m changing the tip, that’s for sure. I have someone who can. Any tip you can suggest?
Does the design allow for a screw in extension, presumably needing a female thread part to be installed too, or is it limited to the bulkier push on type?
I've recently changed from mostly playing on 7ft (8ball) to 9ft tables (and 9ball) and want to buy a replacement to my 30yr old cue which I don't want to modify to allow for an extension.
Any advice greatly appreciated!
You have a few options for cue extensions for Valhalla cues. Viking produce a centre extension, but this DOES NOT fit Valhalla (only Viking quick release). But they also produce a rear (butt) extension in 6" and 12" and those are available with a Valhalla adapter (see their website for more info). But if you want a centre (joint) extension rather than rear (butt) then there are options out there including Balance Rite who do a 5/16-18 joint extension (4"). Hope that helps 👍
They are £251 on amazon uk. Big difference from $100 (July 24)
Please try the amazon.co.uk link provided in the video description. They should be £98 through that link. Hope that helps! 👍
@@AverageJoesPool thank mate 👍🇬🇧🏴
Any ETA on when the lucky cue review is coming out? Curious which one you think plays better
Unfortunately not. We've not received the cue as of yet, so it will be some time unfortunately. But it will definitely be reviewed 👍
@@AverageJoesPool Thanks!
True ❤😊
Indeed, a great cue for the price! 👍👍👍
When will McDermott Lucky cue review release? Can't wait for the review! 😂 Been choosing Lucky or Valhalla. Btw, I'm amazed by this valhalla review!
Glad that you enjoyed our Valhalla 100 series review! The Lucky review will take a little while to get organised. At the time of writing the cue is on route to us. It's then got be be scheduled in, filmed, edited, processed etc so it will take a while. Thanks for your support!
It’s a good cue for beginners but I don’t recommend advanced players to play with it. I have one and was missing shots with english. Bought a mezz a few weeks later and shooting lights out. I’m an advanced player who normally play with customs. It has high deflection.
Make a comparison video!
Thanks for sharing your experiences 👍👍
Can you make a video with lucky cue ?
I can't buy this one in My country

@@AverageJoesPool thank you I already subscribed before and notification are on:)
Is it worth spending the extra $20 for the 200 series and getting the "premium leather" tip?
On the Viking website, both the 100 and 200 series are both listed as having the same "Premium Leather" tip (as are all of the Valhalla series 100/200/300/400/500/900). Hope that helps! 👍
@@AverageJoesPool thank you for the quick response. What would you say is the key difference between the 100 and 200 series?
What's the difference between the 100 series and the 200, 300, and 400 series as seen on Amazon?
The price steps up a small amount as the series number goes up.
No different just design
They all have the same shaft, so the difference is in design. 100 valhalla plays like 300$ valhalla.

Thank you
I've used the Valhalla by Viking. It feels like a sound pool cue. I'm a beginner to intermediate pkayer. I've been practicing several hours a day up to 8 hours. I've gotten pretty good in a short amount of time. The Valhalla doesn't knock my socks off though. Is there a must have pool cue between $200-$400. I'd like a good stick to take care of and to call my own. Do you have any suggestions?
Realistically, if a cue is straight, solid, and has a good tip on it, there's not much more you can ask of a cue. If you're paying upwards of $300 for any cue, you're paying for exotic wood inlays, exotic artwork, the mystic of a private cue maker, or just the name of a cue making company. You will not play better with a $1200 cue than you will with a $100 cue, even if you think you will.
Thanks for sharing your experiences! 👍👍
I expected the tip to be smaller. A bit like a snooker cue
The standard specs for a North American Pool Cue is 13mm tip, 58" length, and 19oz weight. Snooker cue tips have a much smaller diameter than North American Pool Cues. Hope that helps! 👍
The color brown is technically orange
Good to know 🙃
When are you dropping lucky cue review man? 🥲
It's going to be a few months away unfortunately, we have a very busy and full production schedule! But it's coming 👍
