    Thank you for this video! This was the clearest walkthrough for passport photo editing I've seen!

    Absolutely Fantastic. Was able to maintain the resolution and this method worked flawlessly.

    Thank you so much! I have curly hair so it was challenging to select around it but overall, this worked very well. I took my own photo and printed myself after the disastrous results by a local Walgreens....never again (yikes, greenish hair is not mine)!

    Thank you. Appreciate the tips I used a free PP app & took my own photo with an iphone 7. No special lighting or technique, just held out my arms & clicked until I got one I could live with for 10 yrs. I will never again pay a drugstore that calls the guy who makes keys to take a picture that costs $15 and looks like a disaster. What a racket $$$.

    This will be important once the state department unveils its new online passport renewal system. Only works for those who are renewing a passport book (no card). No name or gender changes will be allowed with the online system either. Photo has to be a 2x2 compliant jpeg. Currently online renewals are for the govt employees or contractors but will soon be open to public.

    I used this tutorial to simulate a 4x6 image so that i can use that image as a standard walmart print instead of paying $8 for their official passport print layout. such a life hack!

    Great tutorial but I'm having one problem. When I copy and paste to a new document the image is reduced by about 1/8 in so its no longer 2 in X 2 in. What am I doing wrong?

    • @GretchenOteroPhotography
      @GretchenOteroPhotography  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Clifford! I’m not sure why it’s shrinking. One thing that comes to mind is if you are cropping it 2x2 @ 200 pixels per inch (for example) and then copying and pasting onto a 4x6 that is at 300 PPI that could cause it to be a bit smaller.
      Check to make sure both your crop settings and your new document are at the same PPI (ideally 300) and if that doesn’t solve it you’re welcome to email your 2x2 to me at Gretchen@gretchenotero.com and I’ll take a look and email you back a ready to print 4x6!

    Genuine question, aren’t passport photos supposed to be 2x2? How does a 4x6 work?

    • @GretchenOteroPhotography
      @GretchenOteroPhotography  Před 10 měsíci

      You take your 2x2 cropped image and paste it onto a 4x6 sheet for easy printing, and then you trim it once it's printed =)

  • @RashidahHabeebullah
    @RashidahHabeebullah Před rokem

    How were you able to print it to 2x2 for passport application submit? I only see option for 4x6

    • @GretchenOteroPhotography
      @GretchenOteroPhotography  Před rokem +2

      I copy and paste the 2x2 image I made onto a new document that is 4x6. I add a light grey stroke to the outside so I can see the edge. Then I print it as a 4x6 and cut out the 2x2. I usually put 2 on the 4x6 just in case I mess up the first one when I trim it.
