I dont believe it was the intro that the Stones "apparently" wrote. It's supposed to sound like "this will be the last time" by the Stones if sped up. It's all a load of bollocks that the Stone's manager claimed, and poor Richard and the Verve lost the battle, but have now won the war.

A great song? The test, is how good it sounds with you and just an acoustic. Richard proves this 100% this is all about the human condition. Richard had his finger on the pulse when he wrote this. Never mind the strings or The Rolling Stones. The song stripped down reveals how great the song is, and yeah, the lyrics are brilliant. We all live this one folks.

The band's groove, Richard's performance with all it's nuances and dynamics all in aural display! The original is so slick and processed and much of this is lost in it.
