Sohyang always hits me straight through the heart every time I hear her sing I'm 68 years old I've been in bands for 30 years I've seen and heard all the greats and no other performer has come close to the emotional ride Sohyang gives me and she always sings with so much passion she is the best singer I've ever heard and I've heard them all I love her she is the QUEEN!!
I like this one BETTER than the competition version. I held it together until she actually fell to her knees in the second verse, then I totally lost it. Love the song, love this version, and love your reaction!

I just found your channel. New subscriber here. So Hyang is one of my favorite female pop singers in the world. I don't say that lightly. I have been watching So Hyang for a couple of years now. I have not seen this version before. I am now a wreck. When she went on her knees the tears started flowing. All hail Queen So Hyang❤❤❤

The competition that Dimash is in, is different from Sohyang. I Am A Singer originated from South Korea. Sohyang competed in I Am A Singer 2 in Korea.
Dimash competed in China's I Am A Singer which is a franchise of that of South Korea.
When Sohyang reaches the very high notes in this song, she was using a mix voice. That is why it is so strong and powerful. Most singers would have switched to headvoice. Sohyang of course did switch to headvoice as well.
Sohyang's Oh Holy Night brings Christmas to us on any given day of the year. There are many wonderful covers of this song but Sohyang's rendition comes closest to the original spirit of the song. It brings you the scene of the Nativity and showers it with all the glory of the divine. And why wound people wonder whether she is angel on Earth? Great reaction in spite of the trouble of the copyright scrutiny.
Here's why this is my favorite performance by her of this song.. Yes the one on Singer was iconic but... This is in church, pump in the music, here is a mic and go.. Raw, real and unbelievably beautiful. No bells and whistles from made for tv studios.. Just SoHyang, her voice and her absolute faith.. She doesn't need bells and whistles anyways .

We all know that taste of songs and singing styles differ from person to person.
In my own experience, those who didn't like Sohyang singing due to high notes are because they do have hearing problems. My experience stemmed from my wife and two good friends.
I do not fight with these listeners anymore because this is how their ears perceived her singing. Rather, I pity them for not being able to connect emotionally with her singing like most of her avid fans do. We are the one that experience these special feelings thanks to Sohyang.

Oh I'm so happy that you reacted to this one. I will never not get goosebumps at 6:08, she's been doing this consistently since about 2017 and I am amazed every single time that she does a full on mixed A5 belt from her knees.
