When I was at 84 AR, all I got was garbage. So much so it got as low as 58. Yesterday I was at 68 and wanted to get it to 70 and son was forced to accept every order. The first few were roughly 1.00 a mile. Eventually got one that took me 9 miles to another zone for 8 bucks. After that though the rest were all high paying stacked shopping orders. And from 4-8 PM averaged 40 an hour. The last order was a stacked shopping order to the same house. 14 miles roundtrip for 35 total. What I've noticed is they try and force me to go to a certain zone usually with a low paying order. Which I reject. And if I had rejected the order yesterday, I wouldn't have had the other high paying orders that came mainly from that zone.

So he was on the diamond program with over 70% AR, on a new account or just had his AR reset to 100%, only those two possible scenarios when your AR moves like that. When my AR was reset 6 months ago, it would swing wildly 50%, 25%, … etc because it’s based off a small sample starting at 0-1 delivery, when you get to 100 deliveries it will move 1-2% based on last 100 deliveries

That’s honestly how it works. The higher your AR, the harder it is to raise at one when you accept because more than likely of the last hundred orders it’s just replacing another acceptance. If you have 0% every one you accept is going to raise you 1%. If you decline one you’re not gonna go down. Because either way you’re replacing a decline. Hope that helped.

Now it’s a fight just to get 60%. I started tracking my accept vs declines because of this- every new accept/decline is supposed to replace the oldest out of your most recent 100. One night got offered an AWFUL triple stack. It dropped my acceptance rate 3%… 😵‍💫 But it took me about 60 orders to increase my AR by 10% (I declined 7 out of 62). I have noticed when I decline I decline 2-3 in a row. When I accept it’s like 5 in a row, so AR doesn’t change at all for a long time if it’s replacing accepts with accepts, but then sometimes I get lucky and a whole batch of declines get replaced. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I do not like how it works though.

I have an idea to talk about. Wouldn’t it be nice if DoorDash or Uber had a feature where you can say you are going to a specific address or general area and try to get an order going that way? My mom used to Uber passengers and I thought she told me that they had that feature but it wasn’t even something available to me delivering food for Uber. How cool would it be if you were at the end of your dash and were looking for an order going towards home instead of driving home empty handed. Why drive home empty handed and send another car the same way to deliver them order? I think it would be a cool feature to have even if it were only available to Top Dashers and higher tier Uber drivers and perhaps even offered only once per shift to be used as a way to go towards home or work toward the end of your dash where otherwise the app may offer you something going the complete opposite direction.
The important question is if that feature were implemented, would it change your mentality on taking a $5-10 order for 10 miles if it meant it took you close to home where you otherwise would have made zero dollars for the same drive?

This is no glitch. He literally says in the video he reset AR for Priority, now I don't know why he was givin this option by doordash so late into Priority acess being a thing but they did. It does not reset your AR in the app it gives you priority for a certain amount of time no matter what your AR is when you do a reset. The "Reset" is just acess to Priorty regardless of AR in the hopes that you will take a lot of orders and have your AR up by the time the "Reset" is over. Exactly how it worked when Priorty Acess was first introduced.

There has been days when I will be the 1st driver out and I will have order after order. But, when a certain couple of drivers finally start their day I lose priority and I watch them get order after order while I sit. But I haven't see a no tip on earn by time in a couple months in my market and I have seen some on earn by order.

He's not delivering to crappy people b. He's only taking orders he's excited about. .. other times it says your "high ar gave you priority for this order. " None of those things matter much though. All the companies really care about is who is the best driver to most quickly deliver the order. I'll stick with the "take an order if and only if I want to" policy. It seems to work out best.
