We recently sat down with Rob49 for an exclusive Off The Porch interview he discussed linking up with Doe Boy, getting recognition in Atlanta that he didn’t get before, making it through the violence in New Orleans, dealing with his dad being locked up, having to take on the household responsibilities at 10 years old, driving 5 hours with no A/C during Katrina, the impact Katrina had on New Orleans, describes his high school experience, learning early on to keep stuff to himself, staying out the streets, joining the national guard, didn’t want to be a rapper but ended up stumbling into it, wanting to get into building, listening to Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, Drake, taking his rap career serious after his first tape, taking a different route with his music, taking him 3-4 weeks to catch his buzz, learning how to move to as a rapper, linking up with Curren$y, his project “4God”, going through a depressive state with “4 God”, working with Babyface Ray and Icewear Vezzo, “Vulture Island”, facing eviction right before signing his deal, upcoming endeavors and more!
