Don Mancini’s treatment to the cast and crew is pretty much the reason why Brad/Fiona Dourif, Jennifer Tilly, Alex Vincent, and Christine Elise are still with the Chucky franchise to this day. Now if only he can bring back Catherine Hicks to play Karen again

Yeah that was always something I wanted to see if he was able to connect with her after/ during the institutionalization and how that affected them. Knowing your right and everyone just keeps telling you your crazy and the literal evidence makes you go wtf is happening. I hope she come back or is at least talked about more.

I love how the new chucky show continues this whole narration because once they rebooted chucky I was like no I wanna see what comes after the last movie!
and it never gets confusing like other franchises that reboot retell and sequel without a clear path like Halloween

It sucks that copyright left this Kill Count in limbo for so long, but the wait was absolutely worth it.
Watching this recount right after the original Kill Count REALLY shows how far the writing has come in years. There were SO MANY winning gags in this video. It really does feel like a new improved era of the Kill Count.

Don Mancini is a madman and I love every part of how open, experimental and responsible he is with his works. This movie is dumb as hell, but without it we wouldn't have some of the best lines later on in the franchise.
Also I love that shirt so much...
You also have to give him props for being able to re-use unused ideas.
This movie has some great moments. The heart attack death, the montage of Chucky loading live ammunition into the guns, the live grenade kill and of course the fan kill at the end

I'll can never explain how grateful I am for this channel for making me adore horror again. As a young teen I loved the genre, blockbuster every week picking out a new movie, but slowly I fell out of love with it because I could never find anything that actually made me feel any fear at all. Now with all the BTS you do and explanation of what the director was doing in certain scenes I can go through a movie not scared but understand the fear the movie is conveying in set up and truly respect everything the movie is trying to do and the genre as a whole.
I don’t get scared by horror movies anymore, it’s just mild to extreme bodily mutilation that I can’t do
Same for me. Horror movies never really scared me and I never really took them seriously because I thought they were just cheesy. After watching this show for so long I get to see how much work goes into the make up, effects, and different shots. I see how passionate the people working on these movies are and I’ve found a new respect for them.

I saw this one at the drive-in when it came out. The screaming Chucky face in the opening credits scared the crap out of me so bad that I hid in the back seats. I was 6.
I will admit, despite not being a great movie, this one definitely held one of the most emotional impacts with Chuckie tricking a kid into killing a class mate with the bullet swap. I remember being real effected by that the first time I saw it
Absolutely!! I was like this was a level of psychological horror in now you know that kid is effed up, especially if there would've been more deaths with it. When he started swapping the ammo I was horrified especially think how scarred it would leave the survivors making him make even more damaged kids like Andy.

didn’t really trick the kid. no one knew he replaced the painted ammo with live ammo.
Should note, Chucky's plan with the rifles never would have worked. When someone is given a rifle for war games, they must check their round. One to make sure it's loaded and second to make sure that what they have is a paintball and not a live one
Also the sounds between paintball shots would be noticeably different and once that happened both sides would’ve stopped firing , I’m under the assumption that some those cadets in this fictional played that war game in years prior
Not to mention, live rifle rounds more than likely wouldn’t even fit into a paintball gun, let alone actually fire

Than and Shelton's death left an impact on me as a kid too. And Chucky getting half his face sliced off is one of the most memorable moments in the entire series.

I think the issue with the kid seeming "older" is a mix of "he's in a military school" and also i think alot of people adultify black kids more than white children (not an accusation against anyone just acknowledging). I also personally think the kid just had some bad directing moments because they wanted him to be too much like baby andy.

Just as an edit. I don't like that he is doing these recounts. It reminds me of simpsons clip episodes where they make a joke out of rehashing old material. But at least the simpsons say " so it has come to this" in their episode where James thinks he's doing something different. This is not different, and popular shows, channels, and stations, purposefully do shut like this because they either don't have, or don't want to cover new material.
I don't mind it too much, I enjoy child's play 3 so a longer version of the same source material isn't hurting my feelings. But I'm not going to play dumb to the fact that 50% or more us dead meat footage we've already seen. Someone posted on here how amazed they were that he did a recount in 2 days. I'm over here like are you serious? Most if this footage was already edited years ago. The only new material is where James is standing and maybe 5 more minutes of special features that nobody asked for.
I hope as a simpsons fan, James will understand how sell out this is and that it's okay to Laugh at selling out (as the simpsons have done numerous times). It's a good medium. I'm from boonville, it's super cool to explore the location. It's technically closed off to the public but we used to sneak in as kids, over the past few year most of the school has been torn down, with only two main buildings left.
A few side buildings like the armory in the movie have been turned into a community College. It makes me happy I was able to see the location as it was back in the day lol

One thing that I have noticed in the original trilogy that I don't see in future movies is how Chucky does strangle at least 1 guy each movie reminding us that he is the Lakeshore Strangler

It was at this once when I was scared for life.
I remember the day.
It was over cast and the neighbors just rented a movie.
So my older brother Micah, older sister Jessie and I asked our mom if we could go watch it
She hesitated and then asked what it was called.
My brother said Child's Play.
She begrudgingly said ok.
We watched to the 34th minute and when the trash truck driver got crushed the neighbor's dad had enough sense and said "Ok that's it. All the little kids have to go."
I respected him for that.
But it was too late. I he damage was done I had been scarred.
For the next 10 years I was convinced that Chucky was under my bed ready to stab my feet the moment I stepped down to go pee.
15:15 I remember in the first one you asked if this was possible. TLDR its not rifles designed to shoot marker rounds like those are specifically designed to be incapable of firing live ammo.
I'm so happy that you were able to finally release this Kill Count, it sucks that you had to deal with copyright and had to delay the release by a week because of that.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but Childs play 3 is my favorite of the franchise. It the first movie where Chucky is saying one liners more consistently, Andy is a teenager and can stand up for himself. And instead of him being protected as a kid, he’s protecting a kid. What a turnaround

I'll NEVER understand how anyone can rank this one under Seed. Also, while the setting may be 'cliche', I think it was a good idea for a movie set years after it was made. Having everything isolated makes it feel a bit more timeless. There aren't a ton of pop culture references or out of place technology. Only thing that might be considered weird is the Lynx, but who knows, maybe that was a hand-me-down from a relative, or something confiscated by the school years ago and given to him due to his age.

This year is the lowest (so far) with only 506 people added.

1) Is the blood Chucky? Is there not a soul in this universe? If so, what did his soul do for 8 years?

I lost focus on the rest of the video after you said “stay tuned” for Serial Mom. I am too hype that you’re doing that finally! One of THE best campy horror films out there. Kathleen Turner gives us her BEST psycho white woman, some of the most iconic deaths, Kat saying pussywillows, the courtroom scenes! I could go on! Ugh I’m too hype.
“Presto Ya Dead!” has to be one of the best one liners from the franchises though
And the scene winning the "Champion Chuckle" is also when Chucky teaches Tyler that tampering with mail is a federal offense.
“Chucky’s gonna be a bro” will always be hilarious. Plus, despite the unoriginality and low budget, Part 3 is FAR superior to Seed which still remains the franchise low point. Even worse than the remake.

Also i loved the novelization of this movie, had some great scenes. There was one where there were a lot of Good Guy dolls at the carnival when Andy was looking for Tyler. And there was a flashback of where Charles had actually seen Damballa during one of his kills.
For those who are confused on why child's play 3 is out instead of bride of Chucky, James has been dealing with copyright issues and couldn't upload it this week and made X instead and that was before the copyright was even planted. So for people confused on why this was here instead of bride of Chucky now you know why
Plus it would be very odd if the kill count for the forth film came out before the kill count for the third film.

Well Phelous gave the info that guns loaded with marker rounds have been modified in a way, making them unable to fire real amo. So all Chucky would’ve done is make them unable to fire at all.
