Proud of Canada’s performance in general. Uruguay was a challenge our national team has really not faced being in a very average confederation. These games are great for tune-ups (not so much Qatar, but a good confidence boost). Canada will not have an easy WC but great experience leading up to 2026

Get Davies out of the middle, release him and Tajon on the wings.

Uruguay didn't played their starting eleven, five key players missing in that game.lots of subs were tried, even the author of the first gol N de la Cruz is a bench player. Possession means nothing if you don't score .

Uruguay always plays that way - across different age levels and across many decades in the past.

Uruguay really let their foot off the gas second half and made a lot more subs than Canada did. They were playing not to have another big injury, even taking suarez off at half. I did like what Canada showed though, this team has great spirit and belief. Herdman has done a great job with this group.

Canada plays better on the counter anyways. Stop thinking possession means much...

I thought Canada played great ..just the finish was not there and the defence has to play better .

  • @ErynQuentery

Uruguay had 2 shots on net, 0 corners and 2 goals. Canada had 3 shots on net, more possession, 7 corners, and 0 goals.

    Great discussion gentlemen!
Canada played very well vs the 13th ranked Uruguay. It wasn't just possession, Canada had the better of the play overall. Uruguay simply made the most of their 2 opportunities.
Canada has the capability to surprise a couple of teams at the World cup.

    No plan to Score.
Just crossing the ball from the sides!
    Too much passing backward!
    playing 3-5-2 is wrong.
Uruguay team played 5-2-3.5 defenses, not 1 in the center!

Qatar didn't qualify it is hosting that's why it is in world cup 🙌,they are worst team in this world cup ,I don't see any team not beating them .

They did look pretty bad in the game against Canada. I was expecting more out of them because although they historically aren't good, they DID win the Asian Cup in 2019, and made it to the Gold Cup semi finals as a guest where they only lost 1-0 to eventual champions USA. I wonder if they have regressed recently, or if they were missing any key players?

My man thinks Croatia doesn't press. Why are this clueless people analysing soccer teams. Croatia always plays high press on big tournaments

when everybody said concacaf is trash, they were telling the truth but people took it as trolling and believed these teams and players are better than they actually are. Japan had about 6 players on pulisic level or higher, so the us shouldn't be beating them anyway but against the Arabs and their Sunday league players, they look clueless, sad, unconvincing, I doubt that the players believe in the manager tactics. Tyler Adams is technically so poor, his first touch is a trampoline people need to get off his bandwagon. Paul arriola and Jordan Morris are Comedy Central material, they look like headless chickens running around, imagine top players looking at them they would be laughing their ass off.

I some what agree. I fo believe if Tajon and Osorio were playing the outcome could have been different. Alphonso davies is more effective on the wing.

If U.S can't beat Saudi Arabia then there finished. Iran has a good team. No way they will make it out of the first group. I have no clue why Jordan Pefok didn't play. He's playing on the first place team in the Bundesliga and scoring every other game so far.
