That was the mark of a champion elect today from Vingegaard. He showed total respect & humility by waiting for Pogacar after his crash. Pogacar has been a thorn in his side for the last few days, launching attack after attack, but rather than profit from Pogacar’s misfortune, Vingegaard demonstrated the ultimate sportsmanship so that they could continue their duel. Paris awaits a worthy winner.

He could have attacked, but this guy shows a little professionalism and smarts. They Probably declared a truce on the descent so neither of them crashed yet again.
I think Vinnegard had a bit left in the tank all along. He was never really dropped on any of the climbs. It will be an interesting time trial to see them go all out, but I hope Wout wins all the stages left!

I just love watching these two lads chase each other. It’s so exciting to watch!

What about the green that almost took the mountain jersey. This tour has decided the battle WOUT VS VD POOL for me (i am dutch and a huge vdp fan) but the rider that made this tour the most incredible tour i have ever seen is Wout van Aert

I have watched the Tour de France now for 15 years every year and this year's race is the best I have ever seen. The way the 2 favorites attack each other is truly bike racing at its best. Vingegaard proved today that he is this year's strongest rider. When Tadej Pogacar crashes, then Vingegaard shows what class he possesses and waits for him, he is truly a huge Champion

I have been rooting for Pogi, but you can't walk past how great Jumbo and Jonas are riding, and you have to respect both even more after the sportsmanship they both show to each other, particularly Jonas. Super intense racing and here I thought the Giro was one of the greatest races this year..
I apologize to the producers that I have not been liking every video I've watched for the entire race because I am so overwhelmed at the end, I forget. This has been fantastic, the most entertaining Tour I've ever seen. I can't get enough. Thank you for continuing to do these highlights every day.
It shows you that it is nearly impossible to be truly great by yourself. Pogacar and Vingegaard have show us both greatness and that your opponent does not have to be your enemy.

WVA, what a BEAST! Can't recall anyone like him in all the years that I've been following TdF.
I've never seen anyone like him. I thought Thor Hushovd was amazing for being able to climb a bit, but WvA is another couple of levels
There is one man that is a legend in this sport. But nobody can ever be compared to him because that is not done. Like senna in F1. His name….. Eddy Merckx…. But in my book Wout van Aert has the same feeling of invincibility this tour. I think he is the legend of the best tour i have ever seen.
@@timbosse1634 Eddy was before my time, but agree that he is incomparable from what I know of him. WvA would probably be the closest.
@wim caubergs Is that relevant if there is a level playing field. Yes he used doping but so did his competitors. I’m not pro doping but it would be an excellent argument if he was the only one. Than again, maybe he had the guts to take a little bit more than the others. But no matter the amount of doping someone uses it will not make an average rider win the tour. But you make a good point but things are not so black or white.
And I have to add, he is one gorgeous guy to watch. I love cycling anyway, but he is a visual treat
Competing Tour de France is not challenging without your greatest rival. Big respect to Vingegaard for not taking advantage of Pogacar crash, a true sign of superb sportsmanship that makes this stage more interesting to watch.

Just two months later, same sample of sportmanship and gallantry has been showed by Kilian Jornet, the GOAT of mountain running. Running the queen of the race, UTMB, while he was first position, he stopped and turn to his follower, Mathieu Blanchard, who fel down at km 160 of 172, after 19 hours of mountain running and chasing each other. Finally, they both finished the race under 20 hours, first two who did it.

This tour was revanche for losing the one with primosz’es loss, the entire team of jumbo visma were ready for it. Best tour of the lest decade.

It's never fun to see your favorite rider lose time and the race, but that was an amazing race this year! I hope Pogi will recover and be ready for Vuelta!!! Amazing attacks by him and amazing Jonas always on the wheel ofc congats hor Jonas but Tadej is my real hero of the race. What more can I say ! I'm happy to enjoy the show.

I'm Pogacar die hard fans, but to see Jonas to win this year TdF is amazing! It hurts to see Pogie ride alone, surrounded by Jumbo until he finally gave up.
Hope next year UAE comes with a better climber.
I am dutch and because of that a fan of lotto jumbo, but Pogacar is truly a hero of cycling the way he fights, the way he acts when beaten, the way he wins and the way he rides is a blessing for cycling. I am happy that that he made watching the tour so much more exiting than the ineos - sky years. We are finally back to fight to win in stead of fight not to loos. And there is one man that made this tour even more special Wout van Aert
What a drama. I’m really sorry for Tedaj’s crash, but Jonas and TJV deserves the victory this time. They’re indeed strong and well-prepared.

talking how pogacar lost important teammates but vingegaard also lost kruiswijk, roglic who were huge, but overrall jumbo had a much stronger team but even then i feel like vingegaard was indeed stronger than pogacar, but the best cyclist of this tour is clearly Van Aert
Clearly yes. I don’t know how much van Aets salary goes up but i think he will be the most valuable rider in the world. As a dutch fan I was always rooting for mathew van der poel when head to head with van Aert. But we got a clear winner now. I think wout van Aert is legend in my book.

To people saying it was tactical to wait. Jonas could've simply kept his pace and forced Pogi to take more risks to catch him (potentially leading to another crash).

2 gold medals, 4 silver medals, 1 bronze medal, 2 times combativity and performing his domestique duties to perfection, on every type of terrain.
I think that this tour made WvA the most expensive rider of all time. Jumbo are going to have to give him a raise because all teams want the Belgium hulk in there team. Absolutely legendary

2023 stage 19 so far, I still think no one can beat vingo in tdf, even pogi.😢
Just a question why dont Jonas have the White jersey if he is 25 and therefore under 26 years old?
Because he has a yellow, if he didnt he would wear the white.
The rules say you need to be less than 26 on 1st of Jan of the following year (ie 1st Jan 2023 in this case). Jonas will turn 26 on 10 Dec 2022 so he misses out on white jersey by 3 weeks!
Wout van Aert is incredibly clever and well-spoken in post race interviews. However, I believe that the Incredible Hulk is a nickname that still belongs to Peter Sagan. We should at least wait for his retirement before transferring it. :)
He is woutstanding. Unbelievable, this guy.
Don’t get me wrong Sagan used to be an amazing rider but has never been so complete as WvA is in this tour.

First
