I missed that - what happened with WVA?
@@rajiv2612He got dropped early on final climb, was basically standing still (same way he often does after pulls). Then Majka Was pulling for UAE so they had the Control. Suddenly the view switched to Helicopter cam and you see WVA casually overtaking the entire GC group with like 5kph speed difference, going to the front, dropping Majka immediately.

What a stage, what a tour. Just what i signed up for. If you thought the tour last year was amazing, this blows it out of the water, so far ... Pog vs Vin, motorbikes or not, what a joy to watch, one of the greatest rivalries. And just when you thought all the action was for yellow, Rodriguez makes battle for 3rd ecen more interesting. Its gonna be an epic ITT. Pass me the popcorn.
Kudos to Le Tour for orchestrating this riveting, gorgeous coverage. It is simply amazing that y’all are able to publish this series daily just a few hours after each stage winner crosses the line. I have never watched TDF before and I do not cycle, but the Netflix series, the stunning live production, and the beautiful storytelling of this series has been an amazing introduction to this sport and I feel myself becoming a lifelong fan. Congratulations to the entire TDF production team for this array of masterpieces.
I only wish these were longer and more detailed, but the quality is amazing, merci!

For people like me in India, I have no choice but to watch the tour only from the highlights. They don't legally stream it here. So, thank you for making movie-like encapsulations so fast and so well. While I wish, there was a way I could watch the entire thing, or that the highlights video was longer and went into the technical details, I completely understand the need for this format. Excellent, excellent presentation and execution from your team. My heartiest compliments and genuine thanks.
GCN+ doesn't work?
They telecasted first week on Eurosport for 1 hour daily 7:30 to 8:30 pm but due to some youth badminton league they stopped telecasting the tour. I have seen the upcoming week's schedule and the tour will be telecasted next week on Eurosport

Being chased by the two best riders in the world isn't that easy, physically and mentally. Just imagine what pressure Rodriguez felt after realizing he is about to win his first ever tour de france stage. What a race👀.

The moto bikes might have cost pogo the stage win; however with jonas response to the attacks I don't believe they would have gapped each other either way.
i dont think it was really the problem of the motorbikes, the fans where all on the road the motorbikes didn't have anywhere to go either. it's very cool to see but I think very difficult to race in cause you have 0 space

True, but Pogacar lost out on that summit time bonus, with his punch he would’ve got both time bonuses and would’ve been in yellow. Still a lot of racing though
@@northside.shawtyi have that thought at first but then realized how many kilometers barriers will need to make that and how many security officers need to enforce that against thousands spectators. At the end we must accept spectators and fans intervention as a part of the race, for better and worst.

The motos and fans are part of the game. There is no point to blame the motos since Vin already had catch Pog, we never known what happen if the motos were no there.

Incredible how pogacar keeps his cool in the interview. I would've been steaming after that motorcycle incident. It should be 2 seconds and not 10 if it wasn't for that driver. Maybe not a lot, but mentally would've made a big difference imo.
Probably would've won the stage aswell if that didn't happen.
I was holding my breath when I saw Pog attack !!! In hopes that he will close and overtake the time gap. Jonas really kept up very well, not even allowing pog to take one sec off him !

@@DavidLimReport Nah the drivers on the motorbikes didn't pay attention either. Shouldn't ever have been 2 wide 400m till the top. Everyone knew one of the two was gonna attack. Rookie mistake costing Tadej a lot.

Did we see the limits of Pogacar? It almost felt like it, that Vingegaard was just testing his limits and saw them. Once that burst in his sprints is gone, he doesn't look to be able to hang on. I suspect Vingegard will ask his team to keep a higher tempo from the bottom of the steep climbs from now on. I suspect Vingegard will be the only on able to maintain a tempo 1-2 minutes faster in a HC climb.

1. Motorcycle 305, operated by Sébastien Merono w/ France Télévisions cameraman Brice Baudit both fined 500 Swiss francs and banned from stage 15 for not respecting the rule book before the Joux Plane sprint bonus.
2. Motorcycle 501, operated by Steve Meilleur w/ L'Equipe photographer Bernard Papon also both fined 500 Swiss francs and banned from stage 15 for not respecting the rule book before the Joux Plane sprint bonus.
3. Motorcycle 504, operated by Amine Guedaiem w/ AFP photographer Marco Bertorello both fined 500 Swiss francs and banned from stage 15 for violations of vehicle circulation rules.
4. Michal Kwiatkowski from Ineos Grenadiers and the team's Sports Director Steve Cummings each fined 200 Swiss francs for an "irregular refreshment (towing with the water bottle for a short distance)".
5. Jonas Vingegaard from Team Jumbo-Visma fined 200 Swiss francs at km 81 for pissing in public.
I6. In the "fight against technological fraud," 52 bicycles were checked that day, 8 of which were checked with X-ray. All bicycles were found to be in compliance with UCI regulations.
This stage should of been titled “let the bodies hit the floor” due to the massive crash AND THE BRUTALITY WITH WHICH pogi and Vin and are tearing strips out of each other. What a rivalry. What a battle.

Those two motorcycles who blocked the way really ruined this stage. That attack by Pogacar could have changed everything, He would've won both the stage and maillot jaune IMO. vingegaard did a great job too, what a warrior.
It did look like the motorbikes were in a bit of a dilemma, with all those spectators on the road?
He lost maybe the stage there, but there was no way he would've gone into yellow today. Vingegaard would've stayed with him and the bonification delta for both mountain top and finish would've been to small

Tadej is really deserving the victory of the Tour this year. He is a much more spectacular cyclist to see, also winning races all along the year as the real champions do.

Best laid plans of Tadej Pogačar didn’t seem to include the obstruction of the motorcycles. It will be factored in for the future. To be fair to the motor riders, the encroachment of the crowds stopped the motorised movement as well.

What happened with the motorbikes should not repeat itself. That was draining to pogacar. Otherwise, epic rides from the two.

I did not see the race just highlights but Rodrigez down 50 seconds or so and wins? Did the two leaders just get caught up looking at each other or???
Yes, after this motorbike stop them they were racing like sunday trip, so Rodrigez could make 40 second
Pogacar made an acceleration and created a gap with Vingegaard but Vin eventually caught him, they soft pedaled, Pog attacked close to the summit but the motorcycles made a huge error and prevented the attack. Then Vin attacked and got the summit time bonus that Pog would’ve surely had if not for the motos.
Love the commentary, however the music is noise pollution and an unwelcome distraction. It drowns out the excited noises of the crowds.
Vingegaard did absolutely great. Podegra is desperate, and his tiny attacks gaining a few seconds is not enough no more.
Pog is bound to dig his own grave.
Why finish the stage on a descent?

probably right thing would be to nulify bonus seconds in this top, because finish wasn't regular.
Why did they stop the race and restart? I always thought it was up to the riders to deal with surprises on the road and make up any time lost.
Maybe because there were too many cyclists down and a serious injury for one of them?

The other riders were getting up and getting on pretty quickly, leaving access for medical assistance which showed up quickly.
I rather suspect it was because Vingegaard was held up. Was Pogacar? Races have always turned on such things.

@@frankmcgowan9457 It's part of the safety requirements for the riders that ambulances are always present during the race, in case there's a big crash like here. And in this case, because so many crashed with injuries, they filled up all the available ambulances. So there was a pause until new ambulances arrived that could then tag along for the rest of the race.

Is it really that complicated to put barrers at the top of climbs or even just to prevent the access of the peak to the public? What happened today is unreal, serious disgrace but nothing surprising coming from France in the end….
It was the motor bikes fault though. They have to compensate for fans not the fans.

Barriers are put up in the morning before the stage.
I think the problem is the shear size and scale of the stages. In a mountain stage like this with several summits they would have had to have kilometres of barriers to keep all the spectators clear off the road.
