As a Dane this might have been the most fun stage I've watched for the almost 20 years I've been watching the Tour. Might have been almost just as entertaining, if I wasn't Danish. GO JONAS!!! 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰

Im not a Dane; Im American, and you are right the '22 TdF was the most entertaining in decades and I've been watching since 1976. Great racing every stage; unexpected winners, lots of action and in the end a wholesome Champion. See you next year.

The look Stevie gave Primoz at 6:55 said it all, big respect for sacrificing his tour for the glory of the team. Stevie knows what leadership is like, and what it must feel like to give everything you’ve been working for all year. Big respect Primoz!
Primoz' tour was over at that point, he was riding with fragtures and ended the tour the next day, as I remember(?) - A true beast for battling Pog like that, after a crash and broken bones! Nothing but respect for the guy.
Days like today shows how crucial it is to have a good team in order to win the GC.
Pogacar did way too much today, he attacked on the first climb and dropped multiple teammates from attacks in the Galibier

Brutal, amazing human effort to win this monster stage! The human will. Congrats to all these riders! Vingegaard outstanding!
I've been a JV fan last year and this year and it was so exciting to see them work together to chip away at Tadej's stamina (so much admiration for this young rider as well - amazing grit and sportsmanship). Quintana too... needing water at the end and fighting through that all while looking cool as a cucumber. I normally get most excited for sprint finishes but found myself yelling go go go at the screen today at the last break.
This fellas is what we call magnificent, greatest tdf stage in the last 20 years, team jumbo, best team ever.
Stunning production quality. Easily one of the best sport highlights. It got it all. The suspend, the emotion, the nerve, the glory, the beautiful B roll of the track and even the exitment of the fans and absolute fire of the commenters on all languange. It just the best one so far in 2022 TDF
Best of all, the race was once again human, dramatic, riveting instead of robotic, dispassionate, and annoying.
What a dramatic race. I’m glad for Jonas to finally have a hard-earned and well-deserved victory.

Now that pogacar is "one of us", it's easier to sympathise and root for him

This was one of the most exciting memorable tour GC battles for years, a stage which deserves a place in the history of the battle for yellow. Jumbo Visma played stunning game winning attacking hand 70 kms from the finish, the kind of Malliot Jeune team ambush you can only dream of, using all their stars to put an early end to what looked like a new dawn of Tour de France dominance, a long and uninterrupted reign of the undoubtedly immensely talented Pógacar.
France television should be winning awards for their epic cinematography and editing, and Jumbo Visma deserve an Oscar for an outstanding waring down of a yellow Jersey clearly in a league of his own.

you've got to respect Roglic A LOT. I mean, he's had a lot of bad luck for 3 years in the Tour, but he played as a very gentleman champion in service of Jonas and the team's goals. Every true cycling fan would be praying for a hard comeback for you roglic!! Your time will come.

Well designed plan from jumbo visma team isolating podgecar from his teammates attacking him at the descent frustrating him and getting out his stamina and at the right moment final cut
I’ve loved pogacar so far but I said this back on stage 6 the tour doesn’t start until these guys reach the mountains. The mountains will always yield the winner of the tour.
2:25 you don't usually see the green jersey and the polka dot jersey together at that part in a race. great stuff.

TJV played their strategy beautifully, even the green jersey after get his bonus points wait for Roglic and bring him to the front to continue drained Pogi stamina. A real teamwork

I cycled Galibier, adding Granon and cycling Galibier again on the next day is very hard to imagine. These guys are locomotives with legs made of steel !

i think pogacar can make up to 50 seconds in the time trial, so it will be one attack eventually in the pyrenees. I think jumbo will be pacing tomorrow and they will arrive together, with maybe quintana/bardet/thomas/yates attacking

This might be best of 20's races. Incredible, i felt great about jumbo's tactics but also extreamble sorry about pogi as well. What a show!

Amazing wish it was longer.
The kilometers going on front when he didn't need to, the struggles with sprinters for little bonus, that silly sprint yesterday resulted in minutes lost today. Jumbo did today what everyone knew they would. Pogacar have to learn to respect more the opposition and be more humble.

Pogacar didn’t race smart today by putting all the work in that he did, but respect his confidence and effort. And it makes for a more interesting race as well.
Pogacar did not have sufficient help from his team today. Jumbo recognized that and lured him into responding at every attack Jumbo mounted. This turned out to be a very clear plan from Jumbo. However, they could not be sure that Pogacar would fold on the last climb. Vingegaard won the day and will definitely be remembered for that. Now, he will have to defend his lead against everyone and especially Pogacar. Everyone in Jumbo will now have to sacrifice themselves for Vingegaard.
He undoubtedly raced as smart as possible, it was painfully obvious he had almost no team support. Every time you saw him he was alone, where were his teammates?
@@imacmadman22 well he let his teammates work really hard the last days, which was not always necessary. He himself sprinted all out almost every day, to win a second here or there. Then yesterday he did not have to react to Roglic immediately and could have let his team bring him back. He attacked multiple time as well and pulled vingegaard almost for the whole Galibier. He even pulled hard on the decent, which was not necessary. But like I said it makes the race more interesting if he covers everything himself, attacks and not only defends yello and doesn’t care if his closest rival is getting a free ride on his wheel. Pogacar could have just decided to only cover attacks by Jumbo and not attack by himself at all, or only on the final kilometers of each stage and continue to take some seconds off vingegaard here or there and simply rely on his superior time trail abilities.

Two things….during the race the fans are getting in the way and at the end the media is sticking the camera in the riders face. Give them some space !!!
Why does peope suddenly handle pogacar as a villain? He was literally all alone trying to defend. He is so young aswell.

Actually after this stage, more people (even his previous hater) roots for him to win TDF 2022 as it will be one of the biggest comeback that will ever happen plus the fact that the efforts he exert thru TJV attack was really astonishing
I don't think most people see him as a villain. Did he and his team made some mistakes today, on hindsight, yes.
