It's actually normal sized, Dweeb just has huge hands.
I'M A FREAK! DON'T LOOK AT ME!
@@TechDweebYes but remember that's what Retro Games are for so we don't have to think about such existential problems like being a small man with giant hands.😂

Cue mastubation jokes
Your videos on these retro-consoles are weirdly cozy. Thanks for the comfort.
Comments fit neatly into two categories: people who do not own them ("that's ridiculous!" and "novelty that clearly won't work"), and then people who actually own one ("I freakin' love this! I play it more than any other device"). Thanks for making a thoughtful review. I've got one on the way.
Haha ain't that the truth!
"You are not gonna enjoy spending 40 hours playing through Final Fantasy VII on this..." Is this a challenge?
If you still have fingers that work after that, I will tip my hat to you.
@@TechDweeb If I had a Nano I would take this challenge. But I don't and I personally can't justify getting one. But it is so cool. If you told younger me we could play playstation games on a tiny Gameboy in the future I would have been so excited.
I can't wait to play PS2 games on this.
I would question how can ps2 games run on this tiny device without analog sticks, but hey emulation has come a long way? maybe
@@FezzYousufI think she was joking.
As someone who's been using a 14 inch CRT for the last 30 years (to this very day it's on my RTX 4090 setup) I do believe I'm crazy enough to daily drive this mini ball of coolness. thanks for another awesome video, Dweeb. 😊
This reminds me of the old Nintendo Mini Classics from the late 90s… but on steroids. I’m not sure if anyone even remembers those. Thanks for sharing the video!
Can you upgrade the firmware by adding the update to the card by connecting the nano to the computer via usb cord? My pc doesnt recognize the sd card on its own and wants me to format. But i can access the files of the cord via the nano plugged in
I have a questan do you know any hex editors so I can fix my aspect ratio on a game
That intro was gold! 😂
Hello, does the RTC work in suspended mode? since in funkeyS you have to reopen the game
I want. I wish there was a try before you buy option. I have slender xxl hands and eyes that may not be sharp enough.
I transferred the files to a Samsung sd but now it justs a glowing black screen, I tried disconnecting/reconnecting the battery just like the threads say to but nothing changed, can anyone help?
Apparently it just runs the Funkey OS as is with a different form factor but without the optimizations
Andre the giant could never enjoy this 😢
He was my favourite wrestler from back in the day!
What a neat little gadget! If I hadn't just gotten myself a Retroid Pocket 3+ a few months ago, I would definitely have considered grabbing one of these. My nephew just might luck out this Christmas, though...
Kind of loving that device, would really only use it for gb/gbc. Both of those systems are greatly underrated though, I think they could have afforded to make it slightly larger though.
I need help I have powered USB hub I can't boot batocera when I connect my HDD through USB hub but I can boot it when I connect HDD directly with laptop I to connect it through USB hub so that I can connect controller also
This or q36, or favorite micro option?
Hahah, “super secret place” . Great job.
my old eyes couldnt stare at this tiny screen for to long.. my eyes go blurry for hours afterwards.. still an awesome little handheld..
Anbernic must be on next level crack, to go from somthing really cool like the 405M to RG Nano
Ive had one for a while .. its tough playing anything not on cropped
I absolutely love this thing, can't stop playing it, though I get why people have their reservations about the size.
Been getting tons of time in on Fire Emblem and Pokemon romhacks, FFTA, FF1, and plenty others
It's not for me. I'm happy with the RG280V for the smallest handheld for pocketing on-the-go goodness. One idea that the Nano introduces that does intrigue me is the mp3 player. However, the estimated battery life of only 2.5 hours makes this impractical, which is a shame. Having a small device that doubles as mp3/game device would be cool. Hmmm, wonder if the RG280V with Adam CFW plays mp3?
The 280V is so underrated. Everyone wanted the miyoo mini and I just don't get it. The 280V is the best "mini" handheld forsure out of these little devices that play ps1 and lower
I have the classic miyoo mini and the rg280v, the anbernic is much superior in terms of ergonomics for continuous use, it is the perfect machine to play GB/GBC GBA and snes.
I have one. I love it.
I first learned about your channel a few months ago and this has to be one of my favorite videos so far. At one point, I had to pause the video I was laughing so hard.
I might see some of these products reviewed on other channels first, but I must say, I am always looking forward to seeing your review for the fun, humorous and honest takes. We may see these products reviewed elsewhere, but where else can we get information about storing the right game system in our prison wallets?
A few things from this review:
1. When are we going to get a review of all the tiny TVs, game carts, gameboys and NES devices displayed in this video? Where do I even get cables that small :p
2. I still might get one of these, but it will likely receive a spot on my display wall vs. taking it around with me. The Miyoo Mini is probably as small of a device that my 50 y/o eyes can actually play and still understand what they are seeing.
Thanks again for all that you do, TechDweeb!
Haha thanks buddy! That puts a big ol' smile on this ol' dweebs face 🤓
1. Check at your local Lego store
2. Yeah I like it more as a curiosity. I can play GB on it, but I more enjoy it to show to people and just appreciate as an interesting object. Kinda silly but it just makes me happy :)
Great Video as always!!! Was wondering where to put the scraped box art for retroFE?
Same folder as the roms.
Oh I’m definitely putting this on my tiny purse incase I get bored in waiting rooms/boring parties
Perfect purse bling!
Dear mr tech dweeb, may i please ask, i have a 256gb sd for funkey os stocked with roms. I would like to make copies of them for an sd i have flashed for the rg nano...how? Is what im getting at sense they r both bootable drives. I cant figure it out with windows or android 🤷♂️ any help would b greatly appreciated.
I ended up getting this device, on sale I do have a trimui smart and anbernics rg35xx h which I honestly have been loving both they are a ton and I saw a review through one of your videos. I just love retro handhelds in general haha you could say I am sort of collector or enthusiast. I was thinking pixel gkp or this one I actually prefer this plus the $37 dollar on Aliexpress couldn't hesitate myself on that offer. Great videos TechDweeb
I want this for RPG games but... should I buy it for that????
Ya!
Are you able to keyword-search games on it?
Nope :(
Not since "The Pale Blue Dot" have we gotten such a breathtaking description of how utterly alone we are in space.
This, or the RG280V? I want a little throw and go device for quick errands around town
Very different devices. This is smaller, but the controls are very small and difficult to use for anything other than turn-based RPGs or lightweight games (I have an easy time with it, but I know lots of people don't). The 280v is an older device so the screen isn't as good, but it's much bigger than this and the controls are more like full-sized controls. So it just depends what you need, what is your priority. Both are great devices and you'll probably be happy with either.
Make it a 2 button layout without shoulder buttons and a cheaper CPU and this would work perfectly for me as a tiny Gameboy/GBC machine to take everywhere. For everything more graphically advanced the display is just too small. It is too overpowered and therefore too expensive to be useful as the niche device it is.
I did a Formation on the SD Card and all was delated. So the nano dont work anymore. Can you help me please 😢✌️
I'm sorry I can't, but you can order a replacement SD card from the company.
You're the best, TechDweeb!
Nice! And now for something with a 10 inch screen.
it's certainly very interesting but I'd have to put it under a microscope to see something! consider that I had problems playing even with the first miyoo mini because the screen was too small and that's why I resold it. Still, a nice object for retrogaming obsessive collectors!!
To small for me. I had the miyoo mini, and I loved it, but I gave it to my little brother when I got my rg35xx. It's perfect for my hands and pockets.
im good on the "tiny" tech wave.
Tetris does this have tetris out of the box? Thanks all amazing reviews
Dang man, your b-roll keeps getting more and more slick, but I gotta ask... where's your cat? It's been a minute and I'm a little worried about her. I know loosing a kidney can be rough. In any case, I send her my best.
I think I have to agree on how you feel about the unit, well as much as someone who hasn't even held the nano can. My hands are pretty big, so I'm not sure how comfortable it'd be to play for more than 10 minutes. I have the miyoo mini and i can't play it for more than half an hour. The smallest I can play for long periods is the RG353V. But it's such a neat little thing. plopping it on my backpack, and when someone asks about it, I'm just like, "wanna play it". Thanks for the video, your skills and continued growth never cease to amaze. Keep it up man!
She's hanging in there. I'll tell her you send your regards.
Only good for Gameboy, Gameboy color, game gear, wonderswan, and neo geo pocket color. Those are the only games with fonts big enough you'll be able to read them. Would be an awesome dedicated GBC if it was cheaper than the miyoo mini. Unfortunately for $80 the miyoo is still going to get my money.
Can you use JAVA games or JAR files on this Anbernic RG Nano brother ? @TechDweeb
Liked, then started watching 👐🏻😁
Appreciate you 🤓
No l2 r2 😢
Like my Nano. Rebuilt my own 64GB card, updated the Firmware, removed the clock and silenced RetroFE (Theme RetroRoomCovers).
Need to find out how to run ports. No luck, tried everything.
Nice Video, Dweeb.
How did you remove the clock?
@@TechDweeb You need to delete the folder "clock" on the device itself. It's in some usr/.local/shared folder? Don't remember right now, but there are 2 methods. You can google the details.
I think those handhelds are quite expensive for the performance, I think a renewed pixel 7 from Amazon for 200 bucks is a great value for pricing and performance, which handheld for 200 dollars can do Nintendo switch emulation and high end gaming and emulation, anyway everyone has his own opinion 😅
I absolutely cannot stand gaming on a touch screen. It feels absolutely wrong and I can only really do it with simple games like temple run. I need buttons, it’s like half the gaming experience
I think the Powkiddy a66 is more impressive and actually playable.
Tiny tony hawk convinced me
I found a HP Desktop AMD Athlon PC on the curbs nerds and yes it works
You need to strap binoculars to your face to play this. I love it.
Do games come pre-loaded?
Yup
@@TechDweebCheers👌
“Help” I live in the UK and at present been informed by a couple of companies that this machine does not come pre-loaded, hope u can help “Boss”🤞🏼
Nice video
wish to see people play contra hard corps on that lol
I love mine! Finished a ton of games on it already. Klayman Neverhood and heart of darkness were awesome fun. Working my way through the Mario Land games now. So it's ultimate use has been pass and play games like worms or war hogs. Show me another console drunk people can safely toss around like a lighter. You can't. All the others are plastic rubbish.
i see u r into DnD can u help me get into it
I’ve got sausage fingers so no good to me , pretty cool device regardless
If this was a plastic build, it might actually make it into prisons. Especially clear. That’s actually easy as clear electronics are generally allowed in some low security prisons.
Neat. I just learned something 🧐
Naw, stuck with the rg280v
I want to watch all of the Lord of the Rings movies on this.
Extended editions!
I have a fondness for very small things...
Costs too much for what it is
The Derek Zoolander handheld.
What is this!? A handheld for ANTS?!?
@@TechDweeb How do you expect the kids to game, if they cant even fit inside the handheld?
Not related but I always thought you had a Paul Reubens (Peewee) vibe. Are you a fan? Love you’re work and I am on the fence on the Nano. I have a RG353VS but I want a Nano. I don’t need it. But I WANT IT! 😅😂
Haha I take that as a compliment. I love Peewee when I was a kid!
@@TechDweeb You def should. Intended compliment. That guy was creative in making this unique universe and that’s how I see your channel. RIP Paul Reubens
I'd rather exist in a timeline where we have Sega things and I can actually buy things.
I don't just mean official Sega things, I am talking about things like this. As a reminder,
95% of all Chinese made handhelds are Nintendo themed or styled.
3% is actually Sony styled and 1% is some Tamagotchi styled thing and -1% plus are Sega
Styled. I'm A Sega fan. When .... When will my day and people like me, when will our day
come with not just one but multitudes of things for us to play. I want to live in that timeline, that world.
That mf too small imma get the retro pocket 2S 😂
POWKITTY!
that is so small, idk why people dig it, anyway wish that processor was on my V90, those .pbp files omg. Really diging v90 it is black so looks bigger
Tiny!!
And cute!
GKD Pixel basically replaced this by just having a screen ratio that works with GBA
Way too small it would hurt my eyes to play long term
No good for someone like me with banana fingers and bad eyesight but I can see that it'd be great for kids with smaller hands etc.
Miyoo Mini taps foot repeatedly with it's arms crossed
The Miyoo Mini left us, like my dad who just went out for some smokes. We're ready to welcome it back with open arms if it can pull its life together.
Yes, I was looking forward to some techdweeb videos
Not Smaller than my homie p
tiny screen, tiny buttons, tiny battery, huge price, huge NO! Big fail Anbernic.
Skipping unless they drop DMG color scheme
I'm so with ya. That'd elevate this from "that's kinda neat" to "shut up and take my money!"
fun video td... some good jokes, clever stuff. smuggling into prison... lol didnt see that comig maybe thats the targeted demographic. really thinking about this one.
It's fun as a keychain or a pocket oddity, and you can sorta game on it which is neat, but it's not something you'll sink hundreds of hours into. But even as a curious object it's fun to have and show people.
What a shame Anbernic didn't try to make a metal Miyoo Mini clone instead of this tiny Funkey copy.
Too small a screen for my eyes, too tiny to fit my large Man's hands.
If Anbernic Made a Horizonal Version of this I would tell them to shut up and take my money, lol
Oooh I didn't know I wanted that until you said it
@@TechDweeb I've seen a device like that before same OS but it's not made by Anbernic. I think Retro Game Corps did a video on it. Im a fan of Anbernic So I'll wait. And To be honest. I ordered an android watch last year That was just like this. I mean you can make phone calls directly from it. I hooked it up to a tiny 8bitdo controller. it was Awesome
@@TechDweeb I just looked it up it's the PowKiddy q36 mini, same size screen different form factor, Powkiddy is hit or miss from me
