    When you rewatch Thor: Love and Thunder, it's obvious that Gorr was right about many of the gods being opulent a-holes that don't care abut ordinary people. But what about the necrosword? Why did it want to kill the gods? Was it connected to Venom, like in the comics? Or was it created by Galactus to be the weapon of his heralds?
    When. you start to add up the missing pieces of the cosmic/multiverse saga...it all starts to make sense.

    Asgard was just kind of a sliver of a planet, not a whole planet.
    Is it possible that a celestial was born from Asgard, but they had the power to at least keep part of their home intact?
    A civilization powerful enough to survive the birth of a celestial would be pretty god-tier.

      That blank statements is unequivocally false. In Thor L&T, We see that the gods abandoned earth and those who didn't, have had their hand in the cookie jar for so long. Ie. Thor falling to earth, Odin Conquering Earth, Loki attacking Earth.
      We see that Gorr's god was using his people. We see that gorr killed numerous gods, even the gods who lived and cultivated alongside their people. We see that Gorr kills a kind and peaceful god who doesn't have a people to worship him.
      Saying "Gorr is Right" is saying "This Serial killer is not that bad."
      As Odin says, "I am not God of all people. I am King of Asgard." And the MCU Asgardians are long lived mortals aside from the actual gods.

    I just hope at some point Thor can meet/see Loki from the series. I think it would be a great thing for Thor to see this version of Loki. Thor mentions often how much he believed in Loki and hoped he'd change. So for Thor to see Loki as a guardian of his own multiverse of sorts and what he did and how he had changed would be pretty cool to see.

    I kinda hate that the necrosword corrupted gorr. In Jasson Aaron's Thor run they make the point that gorr isn't insane and actually in control of his actions, making him more terrifying, and it makes the reader (and Thor) question whether he us right. In Love & Thunder the audience had to SEE the gods beings dicks and then have gorr comment on it later so we could maybe agree with him, because otherwise we just see him as insane. Not super related to this vid but thought I'd bring it it up.

    • @RELAXcowboy
      @RELAXcowboy Před 3 měsíci +21

      Anyone who has ever heard of "Unworthy Thor" now knows after reading this, that Gorr was indeed right. In the Original Sin story, Nick Fury, also known at the time as The Man On The Wall, stole Uatu's eye and this granted him the vision of Uatu and when Thor came at him, he whispered in his ear and instantly Thor could no longer hold Mjolnir. The words he said to Thor? "Gorr was right"

      @user-xp3mn9we3m Před 3 měsíci +11

      @RELAXcowboy It was always interesting to me that all it took for Mjolnir to reject Thor was for Fury to get him to acknowledge his doubts about his God hood. This is why comics Gorr is the best Marvel villian. It didn't matter that he died relatively quickly (minus his resurrection in King Thor), his legacy haunts Thor to this day.

    14:15 One can even reference Ultron for the "they started as Protectors" part. Similarly, a young Odin might have thought in order to protect Asgard and the rest of the galaxy, he had to conquer it first.

  • @thalmoragent9344
    @thalmoragent9344 Před 3 měsíci +6

    I dunno about this one;
    For Gorr, while I understand why he'd be pissed, him killing so many Gods, whether he knows if they're good or bad or not, actually leaves him as a worse character than the Gods he so hates. The Gorr Comics actually portrayed this well.
    Not to mention, entire species and planets are now doomed because of him. The comics show this actually very well in full, cause some planets wouldn't be able to support life/be hospitable for most life or sentient beings to live and grow.
    When Gorr wipes out Pantheons, some planets entire ability to support life is taken away. One time, after some Sky Gods died, the planet's atmosphere couldn't naturally keep it up, and it stopped raining and the weather was destructive/chaotic.
    In the Comics he mentioned how he "knew the truth" and that Sentient life and stuff would blast into existence, and no "Gods" were needed cause life would happen with or without them, but he doesn't get that entirely true, as there's plenty of Planets where without the Gods, the planet simply couldn't sustain life. And when he went after Asgardians, and said Thor's entire Pantheon would be wiped out, it makes you wonder... he's killing all Gods based off the action of a single situation he alone dealt with? And assumed every God everywhere must be the same?
    Even though ironically it was his Gods fighting to protect life in the Universe by facing Knull who carried the Necrosword. Gorr then kills his God when he asks for help, not even knowing the situation.
    The movie doesn't do justice to either the Argument for or against Gorr or the Gods nearly as well...

    • @CHADCONTEXT
      @CHADCONTEXT Před 3 měsíci

      Hence why the comics is better. If I recall in the comics, didn't his son (being a part of his sub-conscious) called Gorr the "god of hypocrisy".

  • @Alverant
    @Alverant Před 3 měsíci +3

    Gorr has a pretty good point. In the comic, he kills gods of murder and torture. He should have stuck with being a cosmic version of Punisher.
    I believe that Disney is going to use the Multiverse Saga as a way to reboot the MCU. I maintained this for years and with declining box office takes, I'm sure they will bring this to a close, wait a few years, then start it up again.

    10:20 Asgardians are never in any movie depicted as aliens with advanced technology that was mistaken for magic.
    There are two related comments in Thor's movie.
    Thr first is by Jane Foster who misquotes Carl Sagan. The original quote is "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic". It means that advanced technology can look like magic, not, as Jane Foster misquotes, that "magic is only technology we don't understand".
    And the other by Thor himself stating that for Asgardians technology and magic are one and the same. That's not the same thing as stating that they don't use magic, but only advanced technology.

    What if Galactus' purpose is to maintain balance of the Celestials as we see with EGO, he wanted to infect every world in the universe to spread his influence. So with the Celestials being birthed, Galactus is like the predator who consumes the Celestial essence appointed by his choosing. And since Tiamat, though dead, is now residing in Earth - this would be the perfect opportunity for Galactus to arrive and enter conflict.

      The studio heads really REALLY need to find a few of these channels and absorb what is being said. This is the fandom...and while they can't please everyone they'd learn something. It is sad I've understood the movies and TV shows more for watching these videos. They were more companion pieces at first, easter eggs bc I didn't know all the comics. Now they are necessary to explain things or help make the content better. I mean I'm still going to watch the hero stuff bc I like it...but I would like to not NEED to come to SC or NR, etc. to get the full story.

    I think this is what makes Thor such an interesting juxtaposition character, he's a different superhero because he's a god and he's a different god because he's a superhero. If Gareth Edwards is truly going to direct a fifth Thor film, I hope he and the screenwriters can find a way to tap back into that inherit juxtaposition successfully again.

    So you hinted that maybe Knull created the Necro sword, but what if like you said. Galactus forged the sword. And Knull saw the potential of the sword and stole it from him, or was given it by Galactus. Then, Gorr had his 'discussion' with Rupa and the sword chose Gorr to weild it becaise it believed he was or would be more effective at serving it's purpose than Knull. Who probably wanted it as a prop for intimidation.

What if that was Galactus's statue? Yeah that statue mask resemble a Celestial but Marvel is known to change things around so if you looked closely at the sides of the statue head doesn't not resemble Galactus helmet? 🤔
