- The new RIDGID 18V 3/4" Impact Wrench delivers quite the blow on our torque test rig. We took it well beyond the stated 1,300 ft-lbs of breakaway torque. You get 4 modes, including an Auto mode that stops the tool when it senses that the bolt is tight, or when it's loose. These are available now for $279 for the bare tool. #homedepot #tools #impactwrench

I have no use for that, but I want one anyway.
Good Lord!!! Almost 1000ft more than advertised!!! Underpromising but over delivering. Ridgid is sandbagging big time!
I have to say, rigid is becoming a contender.
Always has been honestly.
The Octane impact wrench was the reigning champion for years
@@mattek519 And then they step it back to be below Milwaukee where it should be. I'm not really a fan of multiple brands from one mother brand. I'm getting the idea of different price points but still Ryobi has to be below the Rigid and the Rigid has to be below the Milwaukee, only in rare cases you are getting that lower brand outperforming "better" brand in the same family most likely due to fact that the main brand doesn't care about that tool whatsoever. If you are stuck in one brand of that brand family and it happens to be the lower one you will never likely experience that brand to be the champ and for that reason it is better to choose the best one if you can afford it or just choose different brand outside of that family that has one lineup and can do whatever it wants.
I agree definitely a contender wow. He worked it hard to actually get it to go into protection mode. I’m impressed!!!
@bleyz3557 they don't have to be below Milwaukee at all. Ridgid isn't owned by TTI like Milwaukee and ryobi are. They are owned by Emerson and TTI has to make what Emerson wants them to make. That's why many current ridgid tools are better than the Milwaukee counterparts and that's why many tools like the hydrolic impact driver came from ridgid first.
This was an impressive display of brute force. Over delivering can't be overstated, on jobsite, on the side of road, out on trails where your 'rig-broke-some'um-big', or on the battle field.😎 When you pull out a RIDGID power tool, no one thinks you're a rookie, they think you've made a choice, just as if it were any other of bigger tool brands.🤠 It's mindset that RIDGID's carefully cultivated, and something other "don't want to be just a DIY tool" makers are following. I'd point SKIL out as an example.
My advice to RIDGID is to 'kit' this tool up with a fast charger and big bad battery, one that's more than enough to have this tool operated to it's full potential.
Well what i like is its ability to just chew through 1200-1300ftlb nuts and bolts. Realistically over 1600 id be on a 1 inch dhandle anyways
Thanks for a detailed, accurate, fair and unbiased review. I must say I’m impressed by this RIDGID high torque impact wrench. Great quality, great looking and Lifetime Service Agreement; seems like a pretty good deal!
A follow-up comment, RIDGID should offer this bad boy in kit with the 12Ah battery and their biggest, baddest charger.
It's nice to know that if you get into a place where an inch-drive isn't practical to use, this tool is a possibility.
I just bought the Ridgid 1/2 inch mid torque wrench. So far it's amazing!!!
would you recommend that or high torque for diy suspension work on old chevy Tahoe?
@@joverton8732get the high torque 1/2 “R86212” rated at 1,300 ft lbs of torque
$199.99 at Home Depot with charger, battery and a case included

"Tools with SoAlz" must of lost his marbles seeing this! 😂
I told him about it
Oh boy, that guy was surely released from the institution too early!

I’m about to buy this for lug nuts on the busses and tractor trailers I work on …
Me too! School bus mechanic here.
Have the 1/2 version..has the same specs as the 3/4...great impact hammer
The biggest problem i see with adding the light around the collar is once you get the bigger sockets on there it blocks theblight and isnt useful. The light at the base shining up makes shadows but still seems like the better placement
Yeah he said that already
Cmon we need you to test makita xgt 3/4 !
Plz
lmao I was team green for home owner stuff.....but I cant lie I got the ridgid 1/2" high torque on sale with 2 batteries this weekend.....
Going to get one for my CZcams CHANNEL and put it AGAINST my HARBOR freight HERCULES ULTRA TQ GEN2 3/4
That thing is no match fir this look on TTC 1200 ftlbs i think
wow nice
Great Video! What does the torque tightening ft-lb on Auto Mode? I'm considering buying between the 1/2" or 3/4" High Torque.
When you going to test Ryobi's high tourqe with there 8ah or 12ah or maybe later on when it comes out you can test the high tourqe with there new 4ah hp edge battery
Is this the same tool as the 1/2 inch just with a different anvil or does it have any other different components? The fact that this took off a nut at 2300 ftlbs and the monster DeWalt 961 only got 2600 makes this tool pretty impressive, especially for the price.
You should have recharged the 8 and seen what the mac was with it
inb4 this gets nerfed because its leauges better than milwaukees 3/4"
Question, the lion machine you using to torque the bolts, can that be used to torque lug nuts?
yes they start around 2500 bucks and go up from there, my maintenance supervisor bought one in the fall for use in our heavy steel plant , it cost our shop about $3500 bucks
Way to overkill.
Extremely expensive torque gun…
Wow only 200 ft-lbs less than the new 1/2 inch milwaukee high impact. Cant wait until the new m18 3/4 inch high torque comes out
Your smokin crack no 1/2 does over 1000
The 2967-20 did 2400 ftlbs with the Forge battery. It’s got to be true cause it was on CZcams
@marcianotrevino9076 it's true because we watched it and Tim is very honest.
Question does that boot fit the octane 1/2 wrench? Please respond : )
We are really not sure if it does, or not.
@Shoptoolreviews you are the best thank you I would love to know if it does :)
Yes, according to the HD website, AC13B07 boot fits both 1/2 in. & 3/4 in. high torque impact wrenches.
@torque test channel
Hey Tim, you tore your glove.
TTC is telling me this is just the 1/2 with a 3/4 anvil is this true it seems much more powerful
It makes a huge difference
@LUISTHEBOOTYCLAPPER it cant make that much difference putting a bigger anvil on .... i know a bigger socket helps but wondering if its the same tool with different anvil...
Still less powerful than the dewalt dcf961. Can't wait to see what the 3/4" dcf964 will do
2700 FOOT POUNDS
I don't know how many times it needs to be proven..... the evidence is stacked for days.
Ridgid is a top tier professional grade tool brand with quality, power and longevity equal to if not superior to Milwaukee.
As it's owned by Emerson, TTI technically has to respect Emersons wishes when it comes to the tools they manufacture under their name.
I'm gonna say it moved before 10 seconds at 2300...🤔
I saw it move too.
What'll it do with a normal four or six ah battery because rigid's 8 and 12 ahs have 21700 cells as opposed to the 18650s and all the other batteries. And you still blind man or can't count because these things are not moving in 10 seconds
1st!
New m18 half inch way more powerful
Did you even watch the video?.. Milwaukee makes no half inch that comes close ✔️
Not way more just 200 ft lbs more
@boosted2.4_sky obviously you didn't. The new 1/2 inch m18 high torque took off a nut torqued to 2400 ft lbs and yes it was on this channel
Exactly milwakee still best about and if u want the best 3/4 impact the makita 40v is in a league on its own broke record on ttc
@shaneaverill5414 ttc is good but I'd rather watch it break real nuts torqued. real world testing
