    Brilliant vid. Any chance you could add chapters for these mechanics?

    Wow. This was very interesting. I've only played modern games since Covid, so this was very informative, thanks! What is the game on the table?

      You are welcome! The game on the table is Stefan Feld's Bonfire. :)

    Another I Cut, You Choose card game that practically no one talks about is Animals in Espionage: Natural Selection. It might have something to do with it being two player only. It's ridiculously easy to learn and quick to play. There's a neat little hidden identity element that adds to the theme if not the overall game. The animal spy artwork is delightfully toony and I'd definitely be down to watch an animated series or CG movie based on the characters.

      IKR! Much simpler than Hanamikoji, yet still deep with deduction and bluffing. Hanamikoji was 2p only too, I think it's the distribution model that kinda keeps it from being accessed by more reviewers

    What a great list. I really need to get into I cut you choose and grid coverage games because I think I will really enjoy them. Any idea of cooperative grid coverage games? And thx for taking Hidden Leaders as an example for the Tug-of-War mechanism

      You are welcome Raphael! It was one of the first games I thought of for that mechanism.
      In terms of a coop grid coverage game, that is a tough one! Most of them are usually competitive... maybe Santorini the Riddle of the Sphinx on kickstarter now? :)

      @@BoardGameSanctuary haven't thought of Santorini Coop yet and will have a look. Thx for the suggestion. I always like me some player interaction :-)

    Hmm...
    I'm really not fond on the tendency to make " modern hobby board gaming" into some sort of rocket science.
    Nothing of this is advanced and can easily be explained before playing a game to any motivated person whether new to modern board games or not.

      @BoardGameSanctuary  Před rokem +1

      Yes. As long as you can explain how it generally works or explain the game through the theme the mechanics are pretty straight forward. I think my approach for this video was more.. here are some more unique mechanics you may not have known about. Might be my incorrect wording. sorry!
