John Boutté performs at the Seven Days of Satch presented by Chevron, a virtual event produced by French Quarter Festivals, Inc. It pays tribute to 20th anniversary of Satchmo SummerFest, an annual festival dedicated to Louis Armstrong. All Seven Days of Satch musical performances were sponsored by the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park and filmed at the New Orleans Jazz Museum.

JB changed my life thru his music on NYE 1999. It rained in buckets. I had my bride, and JB serenaded with his quartet as Canal Street was strangely ghosted because of the monsoon. I bought a CD the next day or so. It steered me completely away from the prairie music I grew up with, and into the world of jazz. Thou he wasn't my hero then, he's is a bit now. People often say don't meet heroes because you'll likely be disappointed. However, with John nothing could be further from the truth. He's the most genuine superstar you'd ever be pleased to meet. And we were! Thanks John! Today. I often alternate between JB &, Mel Torme', but I would hesitate to pick which maybe America's premier male Jazz vocalist. I think John wins out...
