Burdale Tunnel Portal (South) and Quarry aerial video, Yorkshire Wolds East Yorkshire 29th May 2020

Drone flight, to follow the former Driffield to Malton Railway Line trackbed North past Burdale Quarry to the Tunnel entrance. The Tunnel itself has collapsed internally.

Good video. At 1:47 in the top left corner, that wood contains the two ventilation shafts. And the small group of trees below that wood above the bright wheat cut field contains the first shaft in from this portal. It has a concrete grate on top but no brick surround.

I visited here in 1977 and a hole had been knocked into the side of the shaft nearest the camera and you could look straight down the shaft and hear the wind whistling far below. It was quite alarming.
